    Hey

Welcome, KearaLee. You're a bit of a geek and I'm a bit insane and it's all good.
  2. I can't read, I can't read, my family is driving me insane and I can't read.
  3. Oh, what did you think of The Ghost Writer, Sofia?

If I was not around my wife could be trapped in a room for days by a spider if it was near the door...

  5. I'm still reading House of Silence but it's slow going, not because it isn't an excellent book, but because I don't have much time to read lately.
  6. I have a punk hairdo today. I must be going through a mid-life crisis. LOL

Ha ha, no safety pin...yet...and it's too late for pics. I look normal again...well, relatively. lol

  7. Hi, frankie. How are you doing? You have beautiful hair, by the way. :)

For future updates on the continuing story of "The Optometrist and Me" (LOL) just check out my thread "Pixie's Paranoid Ponderings". I will keep it all contained there now. :)

  8. Coffee is on my mind. Yes. Coffee.

My name is Ravenmandias; Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!

  9. I certainly will let you know, katie. I read Emotional Geology by the same author and it was brilliant. Made me sob uncontrollably for pages. I didn't know what "mojo" was really either. I just caught on after awhile. In regards to this forum, it basically means "desire or enjoyment of reading". If there is more to it than that, I am sure one of the other lovely people here will let you know.
  10. I am reading House of Silence by Linda Gillard and it has definitely returned my mojo to me. With the assistance of Charm, of course.
  11. My social anxiety is hitting me hard right now. :(

But you will be fine regardless. You have an army of book lovers at your side ~ you are not alone. X

Thank you, Chrissy and Sofia. *hugs*

  12. Yes, I do, especially if I read it a long time ago and only once. That's why I have decided when it comes to a series, I will read the first book to see if I like it. If I do, then I will wait until the series is finished so I can read it all at one time.
  13. It has a very gothic feel to it, and if you like that, you should enjoy it. Was the author polite in the e-mail, or giving you a hard time about your review? I'm just curious.
  14. I hope you are enjoying it, Sofia. I thought it was excellent. One of my favorite reads of this past year.
  15. So nervous about what will happen tomorrow AND my Aunt Flo is here. :( Going to watch my favorte baseball team later to take my mind off things. Go, RAYS!

      Thanks Kylie and frankie. *hugs*

They may have great uniforms, but I hate it when the spit. lol

  16. My mojo is playing hide and seek with me. Come out, come out wherever you are!
  17. Don't worry. I'll let you know how things go with the "lunch date", as long as it's nothing too personal. ;) lol

  18. Hi, frankie. I realized you weren't on my friend's list, so I thought I would add you.

    Hope you are well. :)

  19. I'm still reading Baudolino by Umberto Eco and it's still good, but it's so difficult to read at the moment as something exciting and nerve-wracking is about to occur very soon.
  20. What an excellent haul, Rose. Happy reading!
  21. If the book has something of value or truth in it for me, I don't care who wrote it. The message matters for me, not the messenger. I know Harlan Ellison has a reputation for being an arrogant you know what, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying many of his short stories. As they say, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
  22. I think Charm must have found my mojo. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I started on Baudolino by Umberto Eco, which I was afraid I would find difficult and boring, but so far I'm really enjoying it. I will keep looking for yours, Charm.
  23. Charm, I'm where you are right now. Let's look for each other's mojos. If you find mine, let me know and I will do the same for you.
