  1. Ah, thank you for that, Michelle . I'll be looking into it, as it truly does seem like something that would be a fun and interesting read to give a chance to.
  2. Yea I just worked my legs too hard. They feel a tad better but they're still too sensitive. Which sucks. I hate not being able to work out, lol

I had me a nice lunch. Oh gods but did you just mention chocolate? My greatest weakness!

  3. Well so far I'm in a bit of pain still (worked my legs out too hard and now they're not just sore, but in pain...yesterday it was worse). I'm doing a little graphics design while watching Frasier on TV and hoping it's 11 a.m. soon so that I can munch on something *g*

  4. What are the books about, Michelle? They have you so drawn to them that I confess I'm curious.
  5. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't been able to go far with the book I'm currently reading. Then again, for some reason I'm not up for reading for the past two days. Hopefully that will change *crosses fingers* And I'm glad you found at least a few points from this psychology book that you found interesting! It's a topic that I always like to delve on, and I hope that your exam goes very well for you. You should be ready for it considering you seem to have done your work
  6. I agree completely. I try to catch it on TV every time they show it *grins*

So how are you on this day? Or night, as I'm not sure what hour it is there for you.

  7. I had me a tasty egg salad sandwich and tomato salad
  8. I like almost every movie from Cary Grant, among them: Arsenic and Old Lace His Girl Friday An Affair to Remember Bringing Up Baby The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer and then there are others such as... Braveheart Silent Hill The Shining Fracture All the Underworld movies Every Indiana Jones film plus others that are far too many to list here

    Hello, Polly, and welcome
  10. That's because The Shining is an absolute piece of artwork! :D

  11. I agree. As to the gore...a little is okay, but a good psychological thriller is 100x so much better than just having blood splattered every which way on the screen.

  12. Messed up in what way?

  13. I attempt to stick to tackling my TBR pile in the order it's listed (from top to bottom), but sometimes I just can't help but pick a book at random when the whim takes me.
  14. Some delicious tomato soup with some bread to accompany it is awaiting for me tonight as dinner.

    Evening all

    Welcome to the forum, Paul
  16. In no particular order, mine would have to be... The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde Price & Prejudice, by Jane Austen, and Dracula, by Bram Stoker
  17. It's official, I'm definitely adding Sleep, Pale Sister to my TBR pile. This book sounds amazing and just what I would love to read. Thanks for the review, Gyre!
  18. Why, thank you very much to you both! Happy readings they shall be indeed
  19. Yes, he did *g*. Birds is a great one, as is Psycho. But my favorite movie from him (that I have seen), is Rebecca, based on the book (by the same title) by Daphne du Maurier. I highly recommend it.

  20. Oh I agree with that completely. The classics, like Hitchcock films...now THOSE were real films to frighten.

  21. The Orphanage was okay, but it didn't impress me. It's so difficult nowadays to find a thriller or horror film that really scares me the way that a rare few do. But it did have an interesting storyline.

  22. After finishing... When Twilight Burns, by Colleen Gleason Synopsis: Vampire hunter Lady Victoria Gardella Grantworth de Lacy "stakes the undead with the best of them"*. After narrowly escaping from Rome, she returns to London, where not even sunrise can stop a vampire's carnage... Ruining Victoria's homecoming, a vampire stalks the streets of London – during the daylight. Not only is Victoria unable to detect the vampire with her heightened senses, but she's being framed as the prime suspect behind the killings. Meanwhile, her heart is still divided between the enigmatic Sebastian Vioget and her fellow slayer Max Pesaro. The battle is made even more difficult by the legacy of a vampire's touch – a vampire who left in Victoria's veins boiling blood that forces her to fight evil on two fronts: against the new breed of undead threatening London, and against the darkness within herself. Review: On one hand, this may not seem as the best book in the series by far because it's not as 'action-packed' as the other three books currently out are. But, this is a catalyst as far as emotions and character developments go. The relationships between the characters, the way in which the story is heading--and will finally conclude in the fifth book (to be released on March 3rd, 2009)--is starting to be displayed, giving the reader a clear understanding of all aspects in the book(s). I thought the book seemed a tad rushed however--during certain chapters, especially the last ones--but nonetheless Colleen Gleason did a good job of wrapping things up as nicely as possible and preparing us for the final installment. Overall, this one receives a rating of 8.5/10 by me
  23. "I felt like I was trapped in one of those terrifying nightmares, the one where you have to run, run till your lungs burst, but you can't make your body move fast enough." New Moon, by Stephenie Meyer
  24. Hey there, Inver. Hope you're doing well :)

  25. All good movies. I'd have to say that Silent Hill is my (at the moment) fave horror film. It's honestly the most twisted movie that I have ever seen, and I think it tends to really play with your psyche. That in itself makes it a great flick for me.
