  1. Hey s.gal83!! Welcome to the forum!!
  2. This is such a cool thread and really fascinating. Last year I saw a shooting star which was amazing as I'd never seen anything like it before.
  3. I don't always read the introduction but it's usually really informative so it's probably a good habit to have
  4. Thanks Gyre!! Think I'll put it on my birthday list I suppose I'll have to save the episodes on Sky until then. Boooooooo!

    Hi!

Hey Eurpho & Amethyst! Welcome to the forum! :D
  6. Eric??!! Nope.....didn't notice him! God.....Imagine series 4!!! Please let it stay true to the book! Also, in book two, I love the part where Sookie asks Eric to accompany her to the 'orgy' and asks him to pretend to be gay! haaa! I'm hoping that they don't remove it for season 2. I really want to see the tight pink leggings!!!!! Haa!
  7. I think everyone's caught the Eric bug!! Haa!!
  8. I'm going to have to buy the box set of season 1! When is it released in the UK?
  9. The Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mysteries. Well......after thinking I'd make my way through these books slowly I've done the usual thing of racing through them with lightening speed! I couldn't put them down and with thanks to Waterstones' 3 for 2 offer I bought them all and read them all in about 10 days. Eeeeek! Overall my favourite book was Dead to the World (book 4) which sees Eric, the vampire leader in Sookies neck of the woods, cursed by a witch who removes his memory. Sookie finds Eric on the way home from work and takes him in for his protection. Sookie sees a softer side to Eric during the few days he spends with her and she begins to have feelings for him, all the while knowing that he's not the 'real' Eric. I'm really looking forward to May when the next book is released!
  10. Well.....after reading the Sookie Stackhouse Souther Vampire Mysteries I think my new favourite vampire (sorry Lestat!!) might just be Eric Northman
  11. I read this book a few months ago now and really didn't know what to make of it after I'd finished. There were parts I loved and parts that really disturbed me (and I'm not usually sensitive to that sort of thing) With time to reflect I think it's probably one of the best books I've ever read and I'll definitely give it a re-read in the future. I found the growing friendship between Oskar and Eli so endearing and I totally agree with Mugglemagic that it leaves you thinking about it for quite some time after reading. I still do!
  12. Have you seen him at Comic Con 2009? Deary me!!
  13. Well that's what I'm hoping and there's a scene in the last book where We shall see what Ms Harris comes up with in May eh!
  14. I've not noticed BookBee but I'll check I've just finished the last book after a crazy 10 days of doing nothing but reading (and driving my boyfriend nuts!! Eeeeek!!) I'm hooked!! I really like Sookie and her many admirers but I think Eric Northman is my favourite character. He makes Edward Cullen look like dry toast!! And Pam is brilliant too With regards to the last book, does anyone have any idea which vampire
  15. I loved that bit too!! I've never laughed so much! It was Tara's face behind the curtain that set me off....at first she was thinking it was strange and then she kind of made her mind up to just enjoy the moment. I really like Pam and her twin sets. It's weird to read about a super-conservative vampire I'm totally Team Eric! I've just finished reading the books and prefer Eric over Bill. However, in the last book Sookie's I'm going to watch Season 1 episode 4 in a mo to catch up......and roll on Season 4!!
  16. I'm really looking forward to Eric's first episode! He's gorgeous! Also.....I'm totally addicted to the point of ignoring visitors so I could read! See what you lot have done to me!! I've finished Living Dead in Dallas, Club Dead and now I'm about 1/4 way through Dead To The World. I only bought them on Friday! So yeah, popping back into town today to get the rest of the series. I'm really loving Eric's character.....he's hilarious!
  17. I always think "right, I'll read about 50 pages a day to pace myself and no more". Then I get carried away and fly through them in almost a day!! And yeah.....what is it with vampires being such addictive reading!? Twilight, Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and now these books. Eeeek!
  18. We had home-made soup Yum!
  19. Haaa! Agreed! Me too! Can't wait for tonight's episode! I've also bought the next three books on a 3 for 2 thingymebob Toooooo excited!
  20. I really need to see Eric in the flesh! I'm at the same stage as Stephanie....2 episodes and 1 book into it. Thank heavens for youtube eh!
  21. I finally gave in to temptation and bought the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series - Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. I thoroughly enjoyed it and think I'm pretty hooked already.....eeeek!! Basically, Sookie Stackhouse is a waitress in a small town bar and she can read minds. Used to the hustle and bustle of other peoples thoughts she meets a vampire called Bill whose mind is silent to her. She finds this calming and gradually builds a relationship which turns romantic, with him. At the same time, a murderer is on the prowl with most victims being girls who have had a sexual relationship with vampires and it isn't long before Sookie herslf is a target. I really enjoyed this book as it didn't take too long to read and the story was entertaining. 8.5/10
  22. Thanks Chesilbeach! I'll double check before buying I think I'm going to have to run to Waterstones tomorrow and buy them. Thanks Charm The video is really strange! She wears the most bizarre outfits to date I love the song though.
  23. I've just finished the first book and I reckon I'm going to end up hooked to this series! eeeeek! I couldn't put it down and I sort of guessed who the murderer was early on (I've read a few of Jeffrey Deaver's books so I'm well trained in spotting them! haa!!) I'm hoping that tomorrow will take me past a bookshop so I can buy the next book......is it Living Dead in Dallas? Also Stephanie, I was in Waterstones at Monument today and they've got the books on a 3 for 2 offer which I think works out a little cheaper than hmv I'm going to get mine there.
  24. I ended up giving in and bought the first book which I started this morning on the bus. I'm popping into town this afternoon but I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll end up in Starbucks for a few hours, reading! eeeek! I really like Jason too! I loved the first meeting where he got knocked down by the Grandma lady Haaaaaa!!
