  1. Oh the bible people....they're always there! Usually being heckled by charvas & drunks! Eeek! xx

  2. What tragic news! Dear me! I wonder if that proves his guilt or if he's another victim?

Oh Rock of Love was so funny! All these girls throwing themselves at such a yuck man.....eeeww! :ontome: I still watched it....through my fingers! haa!

Well I decided to take matters into my own hands and I've bid on ebay for Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice. I've wanted to read it for a while after finishing Lestat and I could get it for as little as

  3. Hey!!

Reality tv is in full swing in the UK too at the moment. We've got Big Brother, X factor, Strictly Come Dancing (I think that's what it's called??) and there's bound to be others! It's just too easy to flop infront of the tv and watch it all isn't it! I'm the same :D What's the programme you've been watching?

Well I keep thinking that I'll start this book or that book but I think Charlaine Harris has stolen my mojo :cry2: And by the time I write to her to ask for it back and then of course she'll have to book tickets with Virgin Airlines etc.....well it could be weeks before it returns. I was re-reading Dead & Gone slowly and finished that this morning at work.

Currently I have the Count of Monte Cristo, The Nightshift by Stephen King, Point Horror's The Beach House by RL Stine and a Johnny Cash Autobiography on the floor at my feet. I'm stuck!

  4. Hello Frankie!!

Just thought I'd drop you a quick message to catch up! How's everything with you? Have you made any more progress with Dead to the World?

    Hope you're grand :D xx

  5. Ah the best place to people watch is Monument. For some bizarre reason, the strangest collection of people gather there.

You're probably right about the network of tunnels connecting Bensham! It wouldn't surprise me!

It's another 3 years for me too! I finish the degree next year then move onto a 2 year diploma, the first year of that is on work placement though so it's not too bad. Then I've got to go back for about 4 hours a week in 5th year. It seems so far away but it's flown by so quickly already. We'll blink and it'll be graduation! Eeeek! :D

  6. Ooooh I bought a bundle of 8 Point Horror books at a charity shop for about
  7. :welcome2:Hey Blithe! Welcome to the Forum!
  8. I know.....it's just not right! I think I'll write a letter to NASA to tell them to hold up on their research as not everyone is as interested in exploring the outer reaches of space as they are. The money they save can be spent on improving the time difference between showings of popular TV shows between the USA and other countries. Primarily the UK (and Finland for Frankie as I know she's keen to watch it) I think that'll go down well
  9. At the beginning of 2nd year I had to give a presentation (along with a few others) to the new set of 1st years about the Town Planning Society and I almost died when I saw a lad wearing a grey dressing gown with his pj bottoms and deck shoes!! Do these people own mirrors!?!
  10. Yeah I'm hoping to work for either Newcastle or Gateshead Council on the regeneration team eventually. Most newly qualified people start out in development control looking at loft conversions and conservatories for the first few years......lovely!! My BF is doing the same course and he had a placement with the council over the summer in development control. He used to come home with crazy stories about what people had done to their houses. One guy in Bensham thought no one owned 'underground' so he built a tunnel from his house to his neighbours and started to build a music room under their lounge! There are no words! They sued him as he ruined their foundations and their house became condemned! Crazy!

Primary school age is such a good age too as kids become really inquisitive around then. How long do you have left until you make it into a school? :Dxx

  11. I saw the White Queen in Waterstones the other day. I didn't have time to look at it so I wasn't sure if it was part of the Tudor novels. When reading The Other Boleyn Girl I just couldn't believe how much power Anne Boleyn's Uncle had. It was like a giant game of chess to him....making sure that everyone was in position so if one person lost favour with the King, another person could be in place to take over.
  12. 10/10 today! I think it's the first time ever
  13. Sure! If the synopsis sounds good or it's been recommended then I'll usually give it a go Like Talisman says, every author has to start somewhere and if we only stick to the authors we know then we won't get a lot of variety.
  14. I think it's just crazy that we can send a man to the moon yet the UK is a whole YEAR behind the U.S in showing True Blood. (OK so maybe True Blood isn't as important as space discovery....but still! There's a point in here somewhere, I'm sure of it! )
  15. Same here.....I have my copy to hand if anyone wants to borrow it Just give me a shout!
  16. Yes.....if anyone can he can! I suppose it would be difficult to add it to the plot now as they've
  17. Ooooh that sounds interesting :D Are you thinking of teaching at primary or secondary level?

I'm studying Town Planning at Newcastle. Northumbria didn't do it unfortunately as I would have prefered to go there. I went to the open day for a surveying course and they had loads going on. The facilities were amazing compared to Newcastle where we get our lectures and not much else. Maybe the odd presentation about our topics the following semester but that's it! People I've spoken to at Northumbria have study rooms, tutorials & assignment guidance which we don't. The university seems to value it's students whereas Newcastle's lecturers really don't like you to take up their time  I'm enjoying it overall really, just think we need a bit more help from the lecturers.

Do you also have people turning up to lectures with tatty hair, PJ's and flip flops in winter...............?? :ontome: xx

  18. It did seem condensed didn't it! And those eyes terrify me....not good Now that Bill has
  19. I know what you mean about moving away for the experience. I considered doing my course in Liverpool but I thought about leaving all my friends behind and I love it in town. Wandering around the city centre shops is one of my favourite things to do! :D They could easily condense courses into two years couldn't they. Last year I had 9 hours of lectures a week (3 of those were seminar groups!) Crazy!

What are you studying? There's nothing better than reading in sun is there......ahhhhh! Reminds me of holiday! :D:mrgreen::D

  20. Ooooh ooooh ooooh! I've just watched Season 2 Episode 10 thanks to Stephanie's advice of getting onto you tube early I love Jason.....if Eric suddenly disappears, Jason will be next in line I'm thinking! Has anyone else watched it yet? I think Eric was all about the quality not quantity this week. We didn't see much but what we did see was fabulous
  21. Me too! I work part-time in Gosforth....just clerical work. It's 15 hours a week so it fits around uni quite well and they're really flexible with me.

4 months off over summer is lovely but I'm itching to get back to get started again! What are you studying? Are you at Uni in Newcastle or have you moved away? xx

  22. I wouldn't have a clue where to start! Youtube is about as far as I get with stuff like that

Well while you're drooling over Mr Northman, think of me sitting at work, bored and jealous!! haa! xx

  23. Adam Adam! Tut tut! What is it that you dislike about female authors? Have you had a bad reading experience perhaps? I'm not bothered when it comes to the sex of the author and probably have a 50-50 split.
  24. Oooooh I'll have to check now *skuttles of to the bookcase* Right.......oh it's called Jerusalem's Lot and is a mere 21 pages long.
