Hey Cap! Welcome to the Forum! :D
  2. Hey Sue! Welcome to the Forum :D
  3. That sounds really interesting so I'm adding it to my wish list I went through a phase a while back of reading true crime and covered Jack the Ripper, The Yorkshire Ripper, Jeffrey Dahmer, Fred & Rose West....ooooh a few others too but I ended up terrifying myself! I was a nervous wreck and became super vigilant when I was out on my own.....in the city centre.....at noon. It was ridiculous! However, I think I might get myself along to Waterstones to see what they have to offer When I'm having nightmares, I'll only have myself to blame eh!
  4. What a shame! The BBC adaptations are always so good but I don't think I've ever seen a remarkable ITV adaptation

    Hey!

Hey Alan! Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you'll enjoy it and quickly get the reading bug! Which book did you read?
  6. Point taken! Haaa!
  7. I think it was because he did the whole smile thing.....ahhhhh What did we do before Eric? I can't believe it's the last episode of Season 2 next week. Have they even started to film Season 3 yet? We're faced with an Eric drought ladies!
  8. I watched Season 1 many moons ago but missed Season 2 and don't want to watch Season 3 until I've seen the second one. Sooooo.....when my student loan arrives I'll be heading to HMV for Season 2
  9. I've just finished Eragon by Christopher Paolini which is the first book in the Inheritance cycle. The story follows a 15 year old farm boy called Eragon who stumbles across a dragon egg in the forest while hunting for meat for his uncle. The dragon chose to hatch for Eragon as he is worthy to become the next Dragon Rider, a league of humans and elves which have magical powers and increased strength. As the Dragon Riders died out long ago, Eragon is taught how to control his new powers by Brom, a powerful magician who has adopted the role of the towns 'cuckoo' storyteller. The evil king is searching for the dragon egg as he hopes that the rider will serve him. He discovers who found the egg and hunts Eragon down, burning his Uncles farm to the ground and forcing Eragon to exact revenge on the evil empire. I found the book enjoyable and was suprised to find that the author was only 15 when he wrote it. He keeps the reader interested with the introduction of mythical creatures, the land which is a character in itself and the growing relationship between Eragon and his dragin Saphira. Although I really enjoyed the book I couldn't help but compare it to Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. There are too many similarities between Eragon's story and Luke Skywalker's, miss the resemblance with Star Wars and the land described is also very similar to Lord of the Rings with elvish retreats, dwarf tunnels, etc. This made me think "oh this happens in Star Wars too" as I was reading it and often found myself diverted from the story because of it. Overall, a pretty good book and I'll be buying the next book in the cycle (although I'll not be rushing out to buy it) 6.5/10
  10. Glad you're enjoying Ms Harris's wares That's a lot of books so far Miss Frankie! I'm suprised your eyes haven't dropped out after all that!
  11. That was really funny! I've just watched Season 2 episode 11....Eric in a suit It definitley suits him! The next episode should be quite eventful if it's the end of the season, there's loads of loose ends to tie up!
  12. I haven't seen Amelie yet but it's on my mental 'must watch' list I also love Rocky Horror Picture Show and saw the sing-along version at the theatre a few years ago. Everyone was dressed up....it was fabulous!
  13. Oooooh just realised that it's Monday and that there'll be a new episode waiting to be watched! :D
  14. I've got this waiting for me on sky plus I'm sure (although not 100%) that ITV adapted Wuthering heights in the 70's or 80's and it was terrible so I've been waiting for this adaptation, hoping that it's better than the last.
  15. Morning!!

I'm fully refreshed and raring to go (housework day today )

Yeah Kinga! I think most of Britain held their breath thinking "she isn't really going to do it....oh........ she just did" Imagine what her parents must've been thinking! Yuck!

Now then....Marcus. :irked: He's just awful! He's just been evicted thank goodness but he made me nauseous! When alcohol was delivered to the house he'd take his share even though he didn't drink then when the girls had drank all of theirs (and were pretty drunk) he'd tell them that if they sat on his lap or showed him their boobs he'd give them a can of lager. Really creepy! He also has disgusting habits....picking his nose & ears, burping, spitting, making awful gagging noises and clearing his nose when people were eating......ewwwwww! He just made my skin crawl. His language was also appauling and he was such a negative person too. He also washed with a pan scourer pad thing. *heave*

  16. Pretty early into the season he went around the room pointing at everyone and giving a reason why he thought they'd been chosen and he was like "Sophie....tits. Charlie.....loveable Geordie. Lisa....token gay person. Me....for the female vote. Siree....ethnic minority. etc" He really does think that he's gorgeous and he also reckons he's slept with 20 women. 20!! I find it hard to believe he's slept with anyone!!!

Eughhhhhhhhhhh...........*sigh*.............rant over  So yeah, he's not a favourite of mine

I think Siavash really regrets cheating on his girlfriend and at the time I think he was just missing the cuddles. His GF was on Big Brother's Big Mouth and she said she'd never forgive him. I suppose he's just made a fool of her in front of the whole country. It's a shame as he's so lovely. It was him Vs Marcus for eviction last week and he covered his entire face in glitter while wearing a nude coloured lycra body suit for his eviction outfit  He's fabulous!

  17. Anyway.....How's Dead to the World going? I love the bit where he's watching Buffy too. I also love it when he hides behind her legs when Pam and Chow first come to visit him after the he loses his memory. Bless him! :D

Yeah Eragon is going well. I can't escape the fact that it's pretty much just the story of star wars (there's too many similarities....orphan living with uncle, finds magic power, uncles farm burned down so he sets off with local weirdo/old guy who turns out to know all about the magic power etc etc) set in the landscape of Lord of the Rings with elves and dwarves as well as other mythical races. It's good though and it was written buy a 15 year old so a good effort. :D

  18. Hello Miss Frankie!!

Sorry for the super late reply! Just got back from BF's parents house......I'm soooooo tired! Anyway I thought I'd just drop you a quick line to say I haven't disappeared off the face of the earth or been ran over by a bus etc! haa!

I have LOTS to say about Marcus 'Wolverine he wishes' Smith or whatever he's called but my brain isn't quite working! I really don't like him and yeah......he thinks he's god's gift to the female race. Get the guy a mirror! yuck!

Anyhoooo.....I'm off to bed asap. Hope you're well! Speak soon :D:mrgreen:

  19. I'm a 15 year old boy called Eragon. I found an usual looking stone in the forest which turned out to be a dragon's egg and now I've been catapulted into a terrifying adventure
  20. I can't believe those girls would resort to such measures to win a contest..... and he's awful!!!! :lurker:

Yup definitely paid on Friday! I triple checked at work today :D Now down to 30p so it's much needed! haa!

There's always one person that brings shame on themselves and their entire family. There was a girl called Kinga who got drunk one night and did things with a bottle that should NEVER be done with a bottle....I'm sure if you google 'Big Brother Kinga Bottle' you'll get the bigger picture. It was disgusting!!! And the first people to have sex in the BB house were a teenage couple who were put in as a 2 week experiment a few years ago. They were 14 ish & the whole thing was televised!

  21. Siavash is really cool isn't he! And he's also a genuine nice guy too.....but made the mistake of falling for this years 'bitch' character when he has a GF on the outside. Not good  Especially considering that the 'bitch' girl was playing him along. BB put her ex-BF in the house and she didn't even look twice at Siavash again...didn't even apologise or anything.Needless to say she didn't last long after that!

  22. Oh No! Beer on your books! I hope they're ok :) Of course you'll have to punish the boys! How are you enjoying it? I'm really excited you're reading it........heeeeeeee! Let me know when you finish so we can swoon over Eric for about a fortnight

Well my Mojo has returned! It apologised for being away so long so now we're good friends again. I started reading Eragon in the bath last night and after the first 40 ish pages I couldn't put it down. I sent it to myself at work as an ebook and just read it all day when people weren't watching...eeeek! It's really good and so far I'd definitely recommend it to others.

  23. Eugh!!!!!!!! No way!!!!! I can't believe they would do that......he's just all wrong! :icon_eek::icon_eek::icon_eek:

Well I've been thinking that pay day is Monday.....HOWEVER!!!!!.......it's our Late Summer Bank Holiday on Monday therefore I'll get paid on Friday! Woooooop! I'm super happy now! :animal: (just discovered Animal!) I have about
