  1. Sorry to say this Ben, but even I would have picked New Moon.
  2. Maybe they're just advertising it like this to attract more people. Hell yes! I read in Empire that he was disappointed too with what he did in TGC. I still haven't settled to whether I'm going to the cinema to watch it or not. I have to say, I love to bash Twilight, so I'm not sure. For one thing, I bet it will be much better than the book, like the first film. My brother on the contrary has made his decision:he isn't watching it!
  3. Still haven't started The Catcher In The Rye, actually (probably will today)
  4. I finished it last night and thought it was a great read. I'm fascinated by complicated characters like Pinkie. With all the things he had been through, (I doubt he ever felt happy for once in his life) it's no wonder how he ended up being so emotionally disturbed. I think that in the end, It also shows how some things seem very wrong to someone and quite right to others. For instance, I thought what Ida did in the end wasn't quite fair, but she felt otherwise. Moreover, In addition, we can't possibly understand why Rose loves Pinkie and thinks he does too, but maybe it's because she hasn't known any better in her life. To sum up, I believe it's worth giving it a try.
  5. I finished Brighton Rock last night, which was really good, and now I'm going to start The Catcher In The Rye by J.D.Salinger.
  6. Granted, but you would have nightmares. I wish I had a boyfriend.
  7. Read some more of Brighton Rock. I'm closing to the end.
  8. Oh, they're not just for kids, as the story moves on, they get more mature. You should definitely read the rest, too.
  9. 1.I have a particular likeness for punk culture. 2.Apart from books, I'm also a film and music lover...into arts, generally! 3.I'm not sure of what I'm going to study, but my dream is to become a film director. 4.I don't have the charisma of making easily new friends. 5.I would love to have a house by the sea or in a green hill.
  10. I love it, too. Argh, I dumped it too, and had moved further than you.
  11. I was thinking of John Keats' letters to Fanny Brawne, But I'll wait to watch the film first as to be sure.
  12. I read another chapter of Brighton Rock...but it was a big one!
  13. There are many books out there, which retell a story (usually a classic or a really popular one) in a modernized version or by another character's perspective and I believe that many people in this forum have read such books. In my opinion, though I've never read such books, I think that it is really silly and just an easy way to make money. Why, for instance, would I want to read Pride & Prejudice from Darcy's point of view, when I have created a personal picture of his character, or even Lydia's, presenting her better than she was? Cause she wasn't supposed to be. I believe that if you aren't inspired enough to write something of your own, better not write at all. What is your opinion?
  14. How are you enjoying To Kill a Mockingbird so far? Personally, I thought it was wonderful.

The Catcher in the Rye is the next book I'm going to read:)

  15. Fried Green Tomatoes, it was a really good one.
  16. Oh, I thought Tropic Thunder was hilarious! I watched Boy A last night. It was devastating...
  17. I bought The Catcher In The Rye, and I'm still reading Brighton Rock.
  18. Hi grace, welcome! I really like Jane Austen. Jane Eyre is a really good book too.
  19. You can transmute love, muddle it, ignore it, but you can never pull it out of you.- A Room with a View by E.M.Forster. I think it's simply beautiful. The road is the life.-On the Road by Jack Kerouac. I don't know, it just really stayed in my mind, like it reveals some great truth. There are many others, but I'm not sure if I can translate them correctly...
  20. Granted, but suddenly you imitate someone who's right behind you, and you find yourself in an awkward position. I wish my local cinema could brought more films...
  21. I'm somewhere in the middle of Brighton Rock. It's been great till now.
