    Hello!

Hi Green Welcome to the forum
  3. I forgot to say I hold the book in my hands until it gets too hot then I put it down, I really only read in it for about 15 mins or so, usually by that stage I just want to get washed and get out, I'm usually like a lobster then! I have never dropped a book yet.

Thanks for the weight loss encouragement  Mind you I've been a bit off the wagon today, we had friends up for lunch and I had a huge slice of carrot cake I baked with fresh cream, well you have to be polite don't ya ;) But don't you lose heart, at least you didn't put on even though you had a drink and some treats. I know you feel like its all been for nothing but if you hadnt been good all week then you might have put on weight then you'd feel awful. Keep your chin up, your doing well.

  4. The Twilight series is purely research! :D I'm doing my civic duty so I can warn others off them hehe. Besides, Kookie wants to read them? Oh who am I kidding ... I did like the film, it was so bad and the story wasn't even great but there was just something about it! I'll let you know how I get on.

The next Dex book is just as good as the others, I won't say too much but I don't see why its getting bad reports. He's just as charming and witty but you will see why its called Dexter in the Dark, poor Dex :(

    Another post coming ...

  5. Excellent review Ceinwenn and so glad you enjoyed it. I'll send the next one over to you soon (as soon as I can find it )
  6. I may go ahead and order the Deaver books today, not too fussy on the manhattan ones but its still cheap for the next two in the LR series. I went on to amazon yesterday and ordered 6 books! I only went on to order Twilight series and three others just fell into my basket  I had to buy them then ...what can ya do?

I've also started Dexter in the Dark! :out:

I know, I'm sorry!! I just couldn't wait! :hissyfit: My mojo is waning and he always fixes it! :D

  7. Yoohoo! Only me :D Glad you didn't suffer too much on sat, I had a bottle weightwatchers rose wine on sat night and wasn't too bad on sun, but still had a day of rest ;) As for the weigh in? Well I weighed myself this morning and I lost 4lb (is that 2 kilos?) this week making it 6lb in total! Woohoo! How did you get on? Hope you did well too.

As for the important task of reading in the bath. I like my baths really hot but I can't get into them hot so I have to heat them up when I get into them so I run them to a normal temp and get in while keeping my hands dry. My bath is under the window sill so my book waits there til I'm ready. Then I lie back and read while slowly making the bath nice and hot until I get to the point where I can't take any more, once my hands start to sweat, its time to get washed and get out! Then I lie on the bed to cool down and squeeze in more reading! Always keep a towel handy beside the bath in case of splashing

  8. Think I may start 'Dexter in the Dark' tonight, I can't help it! I've been trying to resist the temptation but he's calling me!!!
  9. I'm on msn :D

  13. Morning my dear! I hope you're not suffering today! Your english is brilliant (even when tipsy), better than some english people, so you have nothing to worry about! :smile2: Oh and you're geography is perfectly acurate too  I am from UK too.

I did see the offer and am considering it, they used to do the same offer with Kathy Reich books and I was gonna get them, even though I've read them all, just to have for my mini library my OH is gonna build ... some day

Do they not deliver to Finland then? If you want I can get them for you and post them on?

Btw did you notice you've posted on your own profile??

  14. Me too. I've seen the American remake and thought it was pretty good but the book sounds better. I'll wait and see what your thoughts are.
  15. Absolutely not! Poor Dex, he's one of a kind! I didn't realise that you didn't realise about all the D's, you see it makes perfect sense then? Wash your mouth out young lady! That will never happen! So glad you're enjoying this The second one is even better so you know theres more greatness to come!

  17. Hi Sarah Welcome to the forum
  18. :hbsign: Happy Birthday Sarah! Have a great day!
  19. What Do You Do All Day? A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pyjamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pyjamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?' She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me sarcastically what in the world I do all day?' 'Yes,' was his incredulous reply. She answered, 'Well, today, I didn't do it.'
  20. ...ah ... you gave me a wee chuckle ... Maybe I should re-read it! Edit: Em ... ok .... I'll say it, I was wrong.
  21. I know! I saw the series before I read the book and kept waiting to read Ya silly billy Another Dexter fan! Glad you enjoyed him Ghost. You should read Darkly Dreaming Dexter too, the first in the series. It explains a lot
  22. He looks much better in those pics Ceinwenn
  23. I've read my fair share of horror novels and to be honest I don't really mind the gore although some of the more graphic ones seem to be just that, page after page of mindless gore to the point where it becomes a bit repetitive. I do however like to read a certain amount of it in thriller/killer reads, it takes a lot to shock me and I think if its done well and the storyline needs it then its all good.
