  1. What did you think of the ending of Dexter by Design Ceinwenn? Fantastic or what? Can't wait to see how the Delectable One handles that in the next installment!!
  2. Oh probably! Might be worth a shot! I'll make that my homework for the weekend
  3. Hiya Lexie! I'm good thanks, you? I'm looking forward to the weekend, probably do some baking tomorrow and then relax on Sun :woohoo: Hopefully get a lot of reading done then :D I'm reading Stolen by Kelley Armstrong at the min and really enjoying it, much better than Bitten I think. What about you? Got anything planned? Have a good one! :smile2:

  4. Funny I thought of that too! I was gonna suggest the same thing! We could praise, beg and plead him to hurry up and even send him a link to our flattering thread!!
  5. Be good girly! Don't you dare! You're not evil at all, I can understand why you didn't like it but in all fairness you seemed to pick the only one of the series which concentrates on the fantasy element!! Never mind eh? We can't all like the same thing
  6. Charm

Hello Mac! :006: Nice of you to pop in :D Gosh it's bright in here  Hope you're keeping well these days and get yourself a Deaver book!

  7. Omg ... Omg... WARNING! If you are one of those people who like to read the last page of the book before you start, DO NOT do it with Dexter by Design. I don't do it and the last line was major news!! You will give away the outcome of the book! It is brilliant!!
  8. Dexter by Design ~by~ Jeff Lindsay is the last one of the series that has been released so far!! Synopsis Courtesy of Waterstones: Being a blood spatter analyst who hates the sight of blood has always made Dexter's work for the Miami PD tough. But it means he's very neat when it comes to his out-of-hours hobby: murder. Of course, the fact Dexter only kills bad people helps too. Now Dex is facing a disturbing situation. He's used to blood at work, and blood when he's out with the dark passenger (the voice that guides him on his deadly outings). But he's not sure what to make of the man who says blood is art. Using bodies as his canvas, someone is out there expressing themselves in the most lethal and painful of ways. If Dexter's to escape the scalpel and avoid becoming the latest exhibit, he needs somewhere to run... Dexter and his Dark Passenger are on top form again, except they deviate from the Harry code with disasterous results and the people who are close to him get caught up in the whole Dexterama! This was another fantastic Dexter book. (I'm beginning to sound repetitive here! ) Dexter is becoming more human everyday, having feelings that confuse him, he's not used to emotions. We also get to see a lot more of Daddy Dexter and Dexter the devoted husband, especially when his home life is threatened, after all, he quite likes these people! He's a lot more vulnerable in this book and actually needs help, but in the end its a suprising person who really helps. Oh and one more thing, (do not read this spoiler if you don't really want to know, it is major news!) Fantastic! Can't wait for the next one! 10/10
  9. I can understand why you might not have enjoyed Dexter in the Dark as much, it did kinda go off the beaten path a bit but I rather liked the whole Dark Passenger thing going on so that's why it still got a 10 from me! Dexter is back on form in book 4!
  10. I'm a female werewolf currently on a flight to check out some werewolf sighting stories on an 'unbelieveable type' website. I've just peeved off the guy seated beside me so he would up and give me peace for a while
  11. So would chippy food be considered as light then?? I had roast chicken, baked potatoes and beans. I really had to try hard to resist cheese on top but I did.
  12. This is the first of nine of a series of Sookie Stackhouse Vampire Mysterys by Charlaine Harris and I read it in two sittings. One of the very few times I've done that with a book! Synopsis Courtesy of Waterstones: Small town Louisiana has a big problem - or rather a number of big problems. And now some of them have come knocking on Sookie's door ...Sookie is an unassuming cocktail waitress in an (outwardly) unremarkable town. She's quiet, keeps to herself and doesn't get out much. Attractive as she is, her hidden 'talents' send men running. For some reason her mindreading skills are just a bit threatening ...Then the unreadable Bill appears on the scene. Tall, dark and handsome, Bill seems to be the man of her dreams. Except he's not technically human. Bill is a vampire and a vampire who keeps seriously bad company, some suspected - unsurprisingly - of murder. Things get a bit close to home when a co-worker is murdered and Sookie starts wondering whether she will be next ... This is a fantastic little read. I really liked Sookie. She has a bit of a problem, she can read people's minds and has been tagged as odd all her life. As you can imagine her dating and sexlife have been quite miserable .. up until Bill appears and boy does he change things! I liked most of the characters in the story, one of my favourites being Sookie's Gran, she was just the most adorable woman with a great inner strength I loved. I had no clue who the killer was, I was totally off base with this one I ended up thinking it would be either I was so wrong! I like it when that happens The whole vampire take on this with the vampires coming out and becoming legal was good. It was a novel idea and worked well I thought. I hope we see more of other mystical things seeing as I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series. Thanks Gyre for offering it up as a bookring! 10/10 from me!
  13. Another Delectable Dexter read! I should have done this ages ago Synopsis Courtesy of Waterstones: Dexter Morgan is busy planning his wedding to Rita to complete his nice-guy disguise. But when a student is found burnt, molested and headless - seemingly sacrificed to an ancient god - and Dex is brought in as forensic analyst to help investigate, he realises he could be dealing with someone a whole lot more sinister than he is. Soon it seems the dark passenger in Dexter's head has gone into hiding. And when something creeps out your friendly neighbourhood serial killer, you know it's serious ...As Halpern and Dexter are stalked by death, it looks like it's getting personal - especially as Dex now has a family to protect. Gradually, Dexter realises his stepchildren might share his extracurricular interest in death. Could he help them target their bloodlust, just as he steers his own? But to do that, Dex must cope with a certain mutilated sergeant from his past, and more importantly ...stay alive ... When I started reading this one I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I'd heard some bad reports about it veering off too much into the world of fantasy. I really can't see what all the fuss was about, I still loved it! Granted in this one it explores more of where his Dark Passenger comes from and stretches the imagination beyond the bounderies of reality, but the writing style is still as good and Dexter's character is just as witty and ironic as always. The storyline also concentrates more on Daddy Dexter which I really really like and includes more about his adoptive children, who are two quite remarkable characters themselves! Plenty of gore thrown in for good measure too. To sum up I loved it. I still loved it even though it had more of a fantasy element. I think I may be a bit biased, Dexter can do no wrong in my eyes and had me laughing out loud again! 10/10
  14. Did anyone hear the rumour that Alan Sugar is being considered for a position in Cabinet? I was reading about it on yahoo earlier. Surely he couldn't be any worse than who we have at the min! At least I don't think he owns a moat!
  15. Oh Peacefield! You would have me sharing the book with my 13 yr old daughter? You really do need help!
  16. Are you mad woman? You didn't get it?? Get back there ASAP and get it!!! ( If you miss it I'll send you one of mine )
  17. I went to start to research these Twilight book things today by starting to read the first one, unfortunately Kookie has nabbed it and started reading it last night! Oh well.... guess they can wait eh? They couldn't be that good?
  18. Hello you! Glad you're getting home for the weekend, hope the weather is fantastic and you enjoy catching up with OH :D I'm sure I'll see you on msn, looking forward to it! :smile2:

  19. Hey! Physio went well, it actually seems to be helping which is a first for me  Hah! you got me sussed! I was hoping you'd read any Stuart McBride before I bought one! Never mind, I will go ahead and get one ... someday! Not too sure about that sheep book you're talking about, are you sure you're not thinking of Babe or something???

Have a great weekend hun, enjoy yourself with your BF and don't pig out too much! ;)

  20. Frankie and Ceinweinn, what are you like? You two are funny,....ahhhh, I love yas both Now sit down before you hurt yourselves! While I do agree with Frankie that the first Lincoln Rhyme book I would read is The Bone Collector (it is the first and IMO the best Lincoln Rhyme book so far), I also agree with Ceinwenn that The Blue Nowhere is the best book of Deaver's I have read yet. If you'd like to read a Deaver book that is a Lincoln Rhyme novel and sort of crosses over to the tech stuff I would give The Broken Window a shot, not as good as The Blue Nowhere or The Bone Collector I feel, but still a cracking read! Hah! How's that for a spanner in the works!!
  21. Happy Birthday! Hope its a good one :smile2:

  22. Just finished Dexter By Design last night, can't believe I have to wait ages til the next one comes out! Starting Stolen by Kelley Armstrong today and still reading The Hunchback of Notre Dame along side (really not liking it though, may give it up) I have my thoughts to write on Dexter in the Dark, Dead Until Dark and Dexter by Design to write yet, life and more importantly reading, just getting in the way!
  23. Ceinwein!! Subject: The Human Body
  24. Yip I agree with Frankie. The Bone Collector is a great place to start. If you'd rather read a stand alone novle first I'd recommend The Blue Nowhere. Both books are excellent reads.
