  1. Happy Birthday Janet!! :D Hope you're having a great day with loads of lovely booky pressies! :smile2:

  2. OMG spoilers! I love spoilers! ..... I have resisted so far ... but its very tempting ... I keep scrolling up and down past it just hovering over the highlight button!!!!!! This one's taking all my willpower
  3. I've still about half of hunchie left, I might start something else as well to keep my mojo up.

You're w/end sounds like it's going to be lovely! I'm sure you could allow yourself a huge bit of cake, since you have been soooo good all week  I hope you have a brilliant time :D

My son turned 16 yesterday so he's having a few friends to stay over on Sat night :icon_eek: There's 5 of them in total, so they'll prob just be watching a few DVDs, playing playstation & Wii and generally just taking over the family room! I'll prob make them some pizzas, sausage rolls etc and I'm gonna bake him a birthday cake tomorrow too. We got him tickets to see Green Day in concert (I'd love to go, but I don't think he'd appreciate his Mum hanging on!) at the Odyssey in Belfast for his birthday, but its not for a while yet so at least this way he'll get to celebrate a bit now. No doubt on Sun I'll be bloody shattered! :thud:

Have a great time back home! I'll see ya when you get back!

  4. Aw you poor thing , I hate losing my mojo and at the min its thoroughly slipping with Hunchie I'd suggest we go to the lost mojo thread for cookies and sympathy but we're on a bloody diet!
  5. Hello!! Ok Ok you can brag, only because you sound like a dream to have as a helper, not only a saleswoman but a transport organiser and all for free too! I'm not suprised your friend was chuffed! I'd be delighted! Next time I move (if ever) you can come organise me too! Well done girly!

Good on ya too for turning down pizza and cider too :clapping: I have been so bad this week, I've bound to have put on :( and yes I'm still on hunchie :irked: After Dexter it just seems so slow :( Seriously thinking of giving it up but that just sounds so defeatest.

Glad to see you back!

  6. Hi Maggie I was just wondering, do you ever base any of your books on your real life experiences? I've always thought it would be great to be able to write a book and my husband is always saying since I read so much, I should give it a go, but I'm not sure I have the imagination to make it interesting enough. I'm always amazed by the depth of imagination it must take to make a story interesting, never mind engrossing, and I take my hat off to anyone who can do this successfully! Well done to you and I wish you continued success
  7. I meant to say the thread is closed because it was getting too long but it continues on in Book Activity Today 4 ... :smile2:

  8. Bonsoir Genevieve! (I hope that is right, it has been a long time since I passed my french exams :o)

You're very welcome about Dexter. He's really not as bad as you may fear and is actually very likeable and endearing ... for a seriel killer  The Hunchback on the other hand is not such a good read to me I'm afraid, the writing is a bit too flowery for my liking and the book is moving along a little bit too slow for my taste, but I shall persevere (for a while anyway).

How has your day been? I hope it has been tres bon! I was out today organising curtains to be made for my bedroom, its quite gothic in taste so I'm all excited :D

    Take Care xo

  9. :sign0072: Ben! Hope you have a lovely day :smile2:
  10. Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse all by Stephanie Meyer arrived today along with Stolen and Dime Store Magic both by Kelley Armstrong. These are also being added to my TBR pile
  11. I've just added to my TBR pile: Terry Pratchett - Johnny and the Dead Anne Rice - Memnoch the Devil (to re-read) (both sent to me by bookjumper ) and Lewis Carroll - Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (I want to read this before the new Hollywood movie comes out)
  12. Hey radjack Nice to see you back! I have this book on my wishlist, I keep meaning to get it but you get so many great recommendations on this forum that it keeps going out of my head
  13. I really didn't think Stavros Flately did anything different or better last night. Granted the first night was amazing and really funny but then what? He should stick to trying to do western types of dance like Riverdance or maybe even the highland fling, that would be funny but he just looked silly last night. He is a really nice guy and all, and to be honest I think he was the best of a bad bunch in that semi-final really. Does anyone agree, or is it just me? .... and flowers and opera??? I mean WTH??
  14. You naughty boy Raven ...... poor girl! Me too!
  15. Granted it was good The machines at the end were pretty awsome too.
  16. You should check out the second one, its been the best so far
  17. Have fun moving! (God that sounds like a real contradiction in terms!) I'll keep my fingers crossed the weather is good :D Enjoy!

  18. Well I kinda have to  I don't want to appear like I'm hanging on to them unnecessarily. They're not coming all at once though so I'll maybe squeeze a bit of Dexter or Twilight in between :D I'm looking forward to them too so I don't mind.

Are you getting on any further with Devoted Dexter? I thought you had started Dexter in the Dark, I hope I haven't said anything to spoil it! :o I don't think so though.

  19. I will NEVER have a Twilight avatar! Never ever gonna happen  so you've no worries on that point

Yes you're right, I haven't finished Hunchie, I'm mid read, but its a bit ... how shall I put it? .... Boring :irked: I knew I shouldn't have picked up another book but as I said my mojo was waning and Dex helped as always. I'm not gonna start another thing til I've finished it and yes I do feel a bit guilty but on the other hand I think we have until at least the next classic circle starts to discuss it and I would like to think I'd have it well finished by then!

Mind you Sookie should be arriving soon and there's nine of them! So you take your time girlie, I don't see me starting the last Dex book for a while yet :(

  20. I stayed up until 3am this morning and finished Dexter in the Dark I haven't done that in ages! It was brilliant! I won't say too much until you guys finish it.
  21. It is comforting to know you will be in the background keeping a watchful eye on me. I'm not really expecting fantastic things from the Twilight series, but just in case I fall into the abyss of hype, its good to know you will be there to save me!

I loooovveed Dexter in the Dark! I stayed up until 3am reading it last night and finished it! Daddy Dexter is so endearing and he becomes more human in this one, fantastic! Hope you're enjoying it too :D I'm not sure if I'll start Dexter by Design just yet, even though I so want to, Kate is posting the first of the Sookie series to me today I think so I'll try to wrap up Hunchie before it arrives (a miracle is gonna have to occur if that is to happen  )

  22. We had hot sweet chilli chicken wraps with side salad
  23. I can't wait to see the new Terminator movie and Transformers 2. I've seen the trailors and they look amazing!
  24. Yep its true. I started it yesterday Sooo sorry but I just couldn't resist the delectable one any longer! I know ... I'm weak It is just as good as the others too, I really can't see why its been getting some negative thoughts but I do understand why the first two in the series should be read before hand, you really should get to know him in them first.
  25. I'm reading it at the min and I do agree it is becomming rather monotonous. A lot of unnecessary rambling which is a bit tiresome, but I will stick at it. I might skip book 3 as suggested when I get to it.
