  1. Aw, thank you!! I'm glad you think so, although it stands to reason that you must have great taste too if you've enjoyed anything I recommended Like frankie says, I have been raving on about Karen Rose books lately, I haven't been disappointed by any yet. I've recently finished her series: Karen Rose Don't Tell Have You Seen Her? I'm Watching You Nothing To Fear You Can't Hide Count To Ten I Can See You Silent Scream You Belong To Me No One Left To Tell (to be released yet) Richard Montanari writes a brilliant series, quite similar to Tess Gerritsen: Richard Montanari The Rosary Girls The Skin Gods Broken Angels Play Dead The Echo Man I would definitely agree with the Tess Gerritsen vote too, her Rizolli/Isles series is great but her one off novels can be a bit hit and miss: Tess Gerritsen Rizolli/Isles series The Surgeon The Apprentice The Sinner Body Double Vanish The Mephisto Club Keeping The Dead The Keepsake The Silent Girl Stuart MacBride is a Scottish writer who writes a brilliant, gritty, crime thriller set in Aberdeen: Stuart MacBride's Logan McRea series Cold Granite Dying Light Broken Skin Flesh House Blind Eye Dark Blood Shatter The Bones .........I haven't read the last 3 yet, but if the first 4 are anything to go by, they should be great! Jeffrey Deaver writes brilliant thrillers with a twist, one of my favourite crime writers, Jeffrey Deaver 'The Blue Nowhere' is my absolute favourite of his, it's a stand alone novel. Lincoln Rhymes series The Bone Collector The Coffin Dancer The Empty Chair The Stone Monkey The Vanished Man The Twelfth Card The Cold Moon The Broken Window The Burning Wire Not forgetting the delectable one frankie has mentioned. I wholeheartedly second the Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay: Jeff Lindsay Darkly Dreaming Dexter Dearly Devoted Dexter Dexter in the Dark Dexter By Design Dexter is Delicious Double Dexter (to be released yet) Just a few to keep you going!

  8. Yay! So pleased you loved it, unfortunately it's not just next year you have to wait, it's SEPT next year I hope it's another huge installment to make up for the wait!
  9. I've had my eye on some of her stuff too, good haul! I'm still hmming and ahhing over this one, not sure if I'd like it. Glad you're enjoying it My favourite book this year! Shame we have to wait til 2012 for the next one I've finished Last To Die by Katy Brady and am now 49% through Lover Unleashed by J R Ward which I downloaded to my kindle
  10. That's what we call them in our house, they're usually only read after the destruction of the item! Oh I see. I'm pretty good in that I usually download what book I want then immediately turn wireless off, so hopefully it won't freeze on me I've come to a compromise where if I'm reading a book on it, I'll just put it to sleep between reading. When I'm reading a paperback, I turn the kindle off completely I have to say, I do miss a few things on it that you get with paperbacks like of course, the smell and feel of the book. Michelle also warned me I'd miss the colour and I didn't know what she meant, I do now! I miss the book covers and the blurbs. Also one more thing, I miss seeing the size of the book. Seeing the size of the book helps me judge how long it will take me to read, or how long it will take me to finish if I'm getting to an exciting bit, even when to expect things to happen for more predictable books. I can't really tell all this atm, I'm sure I'll be able to eventually as I get used to percentages. Could this be a good thing in the end though? I mean sometimes, seeing a huge book can be daunting and put me off I'm still glad I got one and am reading a book on it at the minute, I love the convenience of being able to download to it instantly - one book at a time too! If I order books I always order 4 - 6, so it doesn't seem like I'm spending as much money on books lately.... that will probably change at some point
  11. Lol, still achy! Nothing new there, in fact spent all week looking for a supportive/orthopedic type chair, our sofas just add to my pains. Did find one but it's gonna be 8 weeks before delivery. Now just to recover from the week of looking :( How are you, still sore and creaking?

  12. Hi honey! I'm not great, spent all week looking for a more supportive, orthopedic type chair as ours are adding to my back pain, still recovering from that expedition lol Good new is, we found one, bad news - it's gonna be 8 weeks before delivery :( Oh well, D gonna redecorate before it comes lol How've you been? Decorating nearly finished?

  13. You can do a hard reboot too??? Why would I need to do that? Oh my, this is just blowing my un-technominded mind Thanks for the info Pixie! I guess I should really read the destruction manual
  14. Cliffhanger Alert!!! :sos: Be prepared I finished One Scream Away by Katy Brady and moved on to Last To Die by the same author
  15. You can turn it off completely??? Mine's always in sleep, even though I'm reading a paperback atm. Same here, I always turn my wifi off. I do that with my phone too, must be a habit

  21. Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry, how did I miss this post? I think we did post quite close together But you're quite right, I did in fact see you had this on your LibraryThing app on FB, which is what made me get it in the first place You have such excellent taste, how could I resist! I didn't know the author was an historian, now I'm even more excited to get the next installment! Roll on 2012! Yay! Another Micheal fan perhaps?
  22. Phew! I'm so pleased to hear this. I'm always worried that someone who goes and buys a book I recommend, ends up not liking it. Really glad you're loving it! I've only read a couple of chapters of One Scream Away by Katy Brady, it seems quite promising so far. Other book activity though, I did get 2 new covers and a light for my kindle, so it's cosily wrapped up and safe now.
  23. Great review Lucy, glad you enjoyed it. I thought it was a lovely little read
  24. Yay! I can't wait to see what you all think of it, still one of my favourite books this year I finished You Belong To Me by Karen Rose last night and have started One Scream Away by Katy Brady
