  1. Bag Of Bones by Stephen King. I've owned it for years and started it twice, both times giving up after a couple of chapters. I really do intend to read it ..... someday.
  2. You have my sympathy, I feel your pain I bet they're having an international chinwag together, or winding up Jasper! Maybe that's why he's scratching so much? But get you, a convention with Sir Terry Pratchett himself .. wow! If a massive book fair combined with that doesn't tempt your mojo, I think you're screwed my friend *fights with Hedwig among a flurry of feathers to get to cookies* Fanks *sniff!* Oooh I'll be keeping an eye out to see what you think of Neverwhere, I like Neil Gaiman
  3. No reading cause no mojo .... it just up and left What did I do wrong? Did I hurt it's feelings somehow? Is it just too exhausted to read anymore? Or maybe I haven't been giving it enough cookies lately? Oh mojo, come back! Pleeeaasseee!!!

  9. Brilliant reviews Weave! Such a shame you didn't enjoy Afterlife and Desires of the Dead At least the next ones you read were top rated, I'd say that makes up for it!
  10. I'm so glad you're enjoying Kelley Armstrong again Kat, I am so excited, I can't wait until the new one comes out! I hope you enjoy the Sookie books too I must take a closer look at Mo Hayder books, I have Ritual on my shelf which I bought in a charity shop, but I believe it's part of a series so I need to get the previous book first. I have read Pig Island by her, quite a few years ago, and to be honest it kinda put be off reading anything else by her, although as you and I have very similar taste, if you like her stuff , maybe I should try something else by her Which of her books would you suggest I start with?
  11. Thanks! Although I don't know about solving them, I was totally wrong on this one!
  12. Last Known Victim ~by~ Erica Spindler Synopsis courtesy of Waterstone's; For police captain Patti O'Shea, the discovery of a dead body is shocking, but part of the job. A dead body with the right hand severed is disturbing. But when a corpse is discovered with the police badge of her murdered husband, she is pushed over the edge. Driven by revenge, and working outside the law, Patti vows to track the monster responsible. But as the killings continue, it becomes clear that she is not the hunter - but the hunted. This is a great little thriller set in New Orleans, a couple of years after hurricane Katrina hit. It moves along at a smooth pace with interesting characters and a storyline told from the viewpoint of a few different characters, with a couple of appearances from people from her previous books. A total surprise of who the bad guy was for me, which really threw me at the end, but all in all, not a bad read at all. 7/10
  13. I finished Last Known Victim last night, which turned out to be pretty good. Today a parcel arrived from Amazon with books I'd ordered (I love getting book parcels!! ). I received: A Discovery Of Witches by Deborah Harkness The Killing Place by Tess Gerritsen Sin Undone by Larissa Ione The Witches Of Eastwick by John Updike I've just started The Witches Of Eastwick
  14. 's son past his driving test today! Unfortunately we can't afford insurance for him to drive anything!! It's extortion the price of insurance these days! He's so disappointed :(

  15. Hi oceansoul, and welcome to the bcf! Hope you enjoy it here :)

  16. I'll keep an eye out to see what you think in the end
  17. Oooh, thanks for this, I haven't read anything be these authors, I'll check them out!
  18. Oh dear I have this on my TBR pile and it's daunting enough as it is with the sheer size of it! I've been searching through book sites to try and find authors who write similar to Karen Rose. Has anyone read anything by Brenda Novak, Katy Brady or Cynthia Eden? They seem to come under the same catagory as Ms Rose.
  19. Nice one The Bone Collector film, starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie, isn't too bad either.
  20. The Morganville Vampires ~by~ Rachel Caine Kiss Of Death (Book 8) Claire Danvers has a few things on her mind. First of all there is the laundry, which is now an unfortunate shade of pink. Then there is her boyfriend, Shane, who is never too far from her thoughts. Finally there is her best friend Eve's relationship problems. As if life as a student wasn't complicated enough, Claire just happens to be studying in Morganville. A town run by vampires. Trouble seems to follow Claire and her friends like a shadow and tonight is no exception to the rule. They must find the most difficult documents for a vampire to acquire; people passes that will allow 'bad ass' Morley and his friends to leave Morganville. But it's proving incredibly difficult, and with the odds seemingly stacked against them, the biggest question of all is...Will they survive? Ghost Town (Book 9) When Claire is ordered to repair the systems that protect Morganville, it's not just cutting into her study time, it's a life-threatening problem. If there's one thing this vampire-infested town is serious about, it's security. But achieving the impossible only brings a whole new set of problems, and the upgrades have unexpected consequences: people inside the town are slowly beginning to forget who they are, even the vampires. Soon, the town's little memory problem has turned into a full-on epidemic. Now Claire needs to figure out a way to pull the plug on her experiment - before she forgets how to save Morganville... This series just keeps getting better and better. It has it all, action, danger, thrills and romance. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading how the characters and storylines have progressed and cannot wait to get my hands on the next one! If you're a fan of supernatural young adult tales, then you need to read these. 9/10
  21. Oooh good choice on the Deaver books. The Blue Nowhere is a fantastic read, one of my favourite Deaver books! Bear in mind though, The Coffin Dancer is a sequel to The Bone Collector Enjoy!
  22. ^^ Times like this I wish we had a 'Like' button I'm still reading Last Known Vicitm. My mojo is waning, I think it's exhausted!
  23. I would suggest Karen Rose, she writes some fantastic reads starting with Don't Tell. Also Tess Gerritsen does a great thriller series starting with The Surgeon. Erica Spindler has written some crackers for example Cause For Alarm and Bone Cold. I would also 'third' Karen Slaughter books and can add The Rosary Girls by Richard Montanari to the pile as another beginner of a brilliant series! If you would like something gritty and gruesome set in Scotland, I can highly recommend Stuart MacBride's - Cold Granite.
  24. Finished Ghost Town By Rachel Caine today and started Last Known Victim by Erica Spindler, which I found in a charity shop
  25. I hope you liked it anyway? I think Die For Me is my favourite of all her books so far I've finished Kiss Of Death by Rachel Caine and am now making my way through Ghost Town
