  1. I watched 'The Hangover' and 'Paul' - not really my thing, but both were surprisingly watchable
  2. Not again! Maybe the talking to I gave it wasn't strong enough? Or you could try bribery? Who me? ...Laugh? ...Never! ......... I really would have paid good money to see that!! As for Scotland, you're supposed to be the responsible one, ... wait, ....what am I thinking? Someone really should warn Scotland you two are coming!!
  3. Sorry your mojo is messing about hun, mine can't decide whether it wants to be with me or not atm, I did manage a few pages last night Great haul at the BB! You could always start a book swap thread here to switch your double copies? About The Discovery Of Witches ... in a word yes. If it's the hardback, it is a pretty big book. The paperback is not so bad Brilliant book though! Have a great time in Scotland and no peeking under kilts!
  4. Oh boy, I was kinda worried on that one, poor Vischous, he's been so messed up I did enjoy it, I didn't like Payne at first but she grew on me and now I hope she pops up more in future novels
  5. Lover Unleashed ~by~ J R Ward Synopsis courtesy of Waterstone's: Payne, twin sister of Vishous, is cut from the same dark, seductive cloth as her brother. Imprisoned for eons by their mother, the Scribe Virgin, she finally frees herself - only to face a devastating injury. Manuel Manello, MD, is drafted by the Brotherhood to save her as only he can - but when the human surgeon and the vampire warrior meet, their two worlds collide in the face of their undeniable passion. With so much working against them, can love prove stronger than the birth right and the biology that separate them? This series of books by J R Ward has to be one of my guilty pleasures. The Black Dagger Brotherhood are a group of vampire protectors, protecting their species from the lessars who have continued war on the vampire for centuries. This installment didn't really focus on the ongoing war, more on the relationship between Payne and Dr Manello, more of a vampire love story really. I love the writing style of Ms Ward, as corny as it can be, and the turmoil the characters go through, I enjoyed finding out more about Payne and Manny throughout. Can't wait until the next one! 10/10
  6. Last To Die ~by~ Katy Brady Synopsis courtesy of Waterstone's: She'll charm you, punish you, then kill you...Mia Kettering is a ruthless killer who hides in plain sight. Indeed, no one believes that a beautiful, wealthy socialite could be capable of murder. But now she's begun her master plan that will leave six women dead, punished for their dark pasts. Detective Dani Cole is determined to track down a serial killer whose victims include a young woman she pulled out of a life of crime. Her investigation leads her to Mitch Sheridan, who once saved her life but then disappeared. With danger hot on their heels, Dani and Mitch unearth a deathly chain of deception that leads to a killer who is closer than they think - and more terrifying than they imagine... This is the sequel to One Scream Away by the same author, again which I really enjoyed. The writing is quick and the story moves along at a good rate. Despite knowing who the killer is from the outset (author's choice), it didn't disappoint or mar my enjoyment of the story at all. I definitely intend to read more by this author. 8/10
  7. One Scream Away ~by~ Katy Brady Synopsis courtesy of Waterstone's: One step away...Seven years ago Beth Denison was attacked by a killer named Chevy Bankes. Since then, she's created a new life for herself and her daughter. But now Bankes is out of prison and the gifts he sends her ? disfigured dolls that carry the same mutilations as his victims ? tells Beth he's coming for her. One breath away...Ex-FBI agent Neil Sheridan is driven to investigate a chain of murders that are eerily similar to a disturbing case from his past. When the killer's trail dead-ends at Beth's doorstep, Neil finds a beautiful woman with a secret she'll do anything to keep. One scream away...Yet even as Beth surrenders to Neil's protection, she can't tell him why Bankes hungers to hear her scream, and why she'll soon consider doing the unthinkable: face Bankes alone. This was a quite surprising read for me. I was expecting a more romance style book but it ended up being a great little thriller with a dash of romance thrown in. It was indeed a very pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the way it was written, I liked the main characters and the plot was well thought out. It reminded me a lot of Karen Rose's thrillers, not just as good but enjoyable nontheless. 8/10
  8. You Belong To Me ~by~ Karen Rose Synopsis courtesy of Waterstone's: When forensic pathologist Lucy Trask stumbles across a mutilated body by the chess tables in her local Baltimore park, its face so badly damaged it is unrecognisable, her sole concern is that it might be her old school teacher Mr Pugh. When the corpse is identified, Lucy is shocked to discover that the victim is actually another man from her past. Who killed him and why his skin is burnt with the number '1' is unclear but it's evident that someone is demanding Lucy's attention. The discovery of a second branded body raises worrying questions: how many more lives may be at risk before the killer's final message is revealed? And can Lucy solve the killer's gruesome puzzle before their thirst for revenge is complete? Karen Rose has to be one of my favourite authors. This latest book did not disappoint. Another thriller with twists and turns, and a plot which unfolds brilliantly, keeping me entertained to the very end. Add all this to great characters and I had a book which I thoroughly enjoyed. 10/10
  9. We will indeed! I sit down and night and think, 'right, messages to write', then get distracted by rubbish online or books, then fall asleep! lol (I blame the meds :P lol)
