Inver Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) Shame the win didn't come....but no disgrace going down to just 2-0 then....and runners up trophy isn't too bad... Hubby and I went (but shouldn't have bothered) to watch Glendale's last game of the season. Not asking much to win a game to a team below them...! Nope....2-0 down at half time and then lost another in the second half...eventually they found the net only by one of opposition defenders trying to clear it off the line and hitting one of our players and he put it in the net...! Was a rubbish game to be honest. They are safe though even if 3rd bottom win and end up with same points we have better goal differences, although can't really see them winning, but daft things happen. Ah well....chuck this season behind them and look forward. I actually wondered if he would sign on again as he was a bit disheartened with it all for a while, but hey ho, he gets a game, although was on the subby bench to start tonight. No word of when U'176's cup to be played yet. Fixtures and finals list up until next Tuesday, but as yet nothing for them....watch this space. Edited May 14, 2014 by Inver Quote
Sedge Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 The greatest joy of a bad season is when it's over. Technically Glendale are back on the same points as everybody else now! Quote
Inver Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Almost... Still a few teams to finish of their league games. They have played all their 26 games...won 8 and lost 18... At least not as bad as the bottom team won 1 and lost 24 with their last game of the season will be against the league leaders Quote
Inver Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 So that is Andy and his mate and my nephew heading off to the Scottish Cup final tomorrow at Celtic Park....St Johnstone v Dundee United....come on you blues...I hope they can get a win for him. He is so up for it...he will either be on a high tomorrow night when he comes home or so down. Quote
Sedge Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I wish them luck from one group of Saints to another. Quote
Inver Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) Ya beauty.... Inver Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Well Andy got home safe and sound and as high as a kite...had a great day at the Scottish Cup final. So pleased they got the outcome he so wanted to be part of. Guess he will be on a high for weeks and looking forward to going in to work at Aberdeen FC next week... , since it was them they put out in the semi... Quote
geordie9 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Getting ready to watch my local team Gateshead FC play Cambridge in the Skrill Premier Final Playoff to see who gets promoted into the big time football league!!! Heed Army!!! Quote
geordie9 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 How did the playoff go Geordie... Unfortunately Gateshead lost, ive got high hopes for next season though. Quote
Inver Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Consolation Cup Final tonight for Andy and his U'16's....come on you Culter Colts....you can bin the Culter Boys....(hopefully ) Team picked and he has a good strong team....all in all it will be up to them though....fingers crossed. Quote
Inver Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Ah well....it wasn't to be. Culter Colts' U'16's were beaten by the other Culter Boys U'16's....final score 3-1.... They just didn't get it together somehow. Went down 1-0 and then got one back early in second half....kicked off from centre and 30 seconds later went down 2-1 then lost another with about 20 minutes to go. In all fairness the other team seemed hungrier for the cup. Ah well..better luck next season....it will soon be time to hang up their boots for a wee while. Lads v dads...see if they can salvage something from that and beat the dads. Quote
geordie9 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 1 more day to go till the biggest tournament in the world!!!! Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Hope it's better than the last World Cup! I always think of this when this time comes around: my mum bought my dad tickets for every England game in the 1966 World Cup, and he went to all of them - except the final!! He had to go to work instead. I mean, you'd throw a sickie, surely?? Still can't believe it. He gave the ticket to my uncle. My uncle had something (I'm not sure what) to do with the Grand Slam table football game, and he got to meet the England team at some point because of it. Can't remember all the details, but bloody hell dad, why didn't you go??? Quote
Inver Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Andy and some of the community coaching staff went to the Aberdeen Europa game tonight....good result for them too, the team they were playing sounded like they were a bit dirty players though....and had 9 yellows, 2 read and had someone sent to the stands..! Aberdeen 5-0 FK Daugava Riga. Quote
Sedge Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 We're into pre-season friendly territory at last! We began our preparations for the the new season with a 10-0 away win. I'm quietly optimistic. Quote
Inver Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Good start, may it be the taste of lots of the same... No games here...just pre season training for Andy....U'17's wont be starting until August. Quote
Sedge Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Now our same starting eleven have just lost 2-1 to another lower division side. Hmmm. I think I'm going to need a degree to figure this one out. Quote
Inver Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 No logic to it is there. Andy has just finished the short summer league season tonight. They were hoping to get a chance at a cup game but they had to cancel due to lack of players....would have been fine for 5-a-side..they had 7. Tonight was decider for the league...they lost 4-1. He has had a lot of hassle trying to organise things for this so is kinda glad it is finished. Quote
Sedge Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 This afternoon's friendly is off as our opponents couldn't raise a side. There are quite a few clubs around here that are starting to struggle. Hopefully they'll be OK for the start of the season. Quote
Inver Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Andy and Glendale had a friendly on Saturday.....omg.....beaten 10-0.....2-0 down at half time...!!! Quote
Sedge Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Oof! Who were they playing? We had mixed fortunes yesterday. We managed a 3-1 win, but we lost last season's player of the year with a broken leg. Bad news. Quote
