Good luck in your Cup Inver! We're starting our League Cup journey tomorrow.  This is the competition in which we finished runners-up last season. Tomorrow's opponents are the same Division One side that we beat in the semi-final.

Bad Omens - three Premier Division clubs played Division One opposition today and they ALL lost! :o

So not all bad news then!

We avoided a potentially awkward game by winning 3-0 to reach the 2nd round.  Meanwhile, in the league out two biggest rivals fought out a 0-0 draw. Optimism is getting easier!

 ...you smiling then Sedge....good stuff getting through a round.

Andy has the 'old crocks' game at Glendale tomorrow....meaning the young v olds.....so Glendale should get a win of some sorts...see what age group it is though... :giggle2:

We managed to supplant the third place side by beating them 2-0.  The league leaders have had a two game wobble and suffered their first defeat of the season yesterday.  We're now four points off the top with two games in hand. I'm trying not to get too excited at the end of September!

Any joy with your boys Inver?

Andy did get a game at 'old crocks'....and he was on the winning side 6-3 I think it was. He managed to get along to training on Wednesday and said he was available to play in needed (17's didn't have a game) to be told yeh, you will definitely be needed. So off he went on Saturday and he didn't even get a strip, so didn't even get on the bench. Very annoyed as there was a guy there who has been once to training and gets a game...! Needless to say they got beat ...3-1 and the team they were playing were garbage...so heavens knows how Glendale were playing! I think he is getting a bit disheartened with the whole attitude at the moment.

Great to hear St A are doing so well. :)

Tonight I witnessed the weirdest optical illusion I've ever seen in football.  Our opponents absolutely tore our defence to shreds yet we still managed a 5-1 victory!

:D  sounds like there is no stopping you just now. Nothing to report over the weekend...no footie, 17's game called off due to the weather and waterlogged pitches etc and Glendale (fortunately maybe) had a free week.

Well the U'17's did well in the first half and kept it to 0-0, but 10 mins into 2nd half they lost a goal and then a few minutes later it was 2-0, unfortunately their luck ran out and had a defeat of 5-0. They looked a bit tired by the end but put in a good shift. Never mind, get back to concentrate on the league.

They may not be getting the results at the moment but it sounds like they're certainly not afraid of hard work. With that attitude things WILL start to improve.

We had a day off yesterday but another of our main competitors (the last unbeaten side) tasted defeat and we only slipped to fourth. Good times!☺

Andy isn't too bothered about cup games...if they progress fair enough, but he really wants them to do well in the league. More positive though Scotland won a game...! 1-0 v Georgia.

We had a nice 2-0 victory over a pretty decent side in the League Cup yesterday. Last season we were the beaten finalists, so here's hoping we can go one step further this time! Although the cup holders also made it through to the next round.

No game for Glendale last weekend. U'17's had their first defeat 3-2 last weekend. Had a better first half than second  but couldn't find the equaliser to get a point out of the game. No games this weekend to report on.

Hoping your winning run continues Sedge.

Well the fought hard and should have at least taken the game to extra time. U'17's had a cup game today against an 'A' league team...possibly at the bottom end of it. They scored in the first 3 mins and playing well, but it was one of those games that went back and forward 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3....but unfortunately with about 8 mins to go they went 4-3 and finally ran out of time to get the equaliser. However Andy said the visiting team manager wished us luck in our league and hoped we win it...

Well done to the lads Inver. At least they managed to keep the game in the balance until the end. Is the A-League above or below their level?

We're still clinging to our Wembley dream after a 4-0 win in the 1st round of the FA Vase yesterday. Our opponents were the same side that we beat 7-2 last month. It would be nice to be drawn against a team from another league in the next round.☺

'A' league is the one above them....they are actually at the bottom of the league played 4 lost 4....so to be honest the way they were playing there wasn't actually much between the two teams. We had a slight edge I would say but just unlucky with a couple of goals. The equaliser to get to 3-3 was a cracking goal for our striker, he took a shot into the box and it shot in off the post.

Another good win for you then too Sedge....Wembley is in site...lol.

We've just heard the draw for the 2nd round of the FA Vase and we have an away trip to Folland Sports(!) I don't know much about them other than that they're based near Southampton and they play at Step 5 (we're at Step 6). It'll be a long journey but I'm looking forward to it!
