Thoughts of a Dying Athiest - Muse
-
Hmm, I guess I've never thought they all look very similar, Kurtz, but maybe after you watch it for awhile you'll start to see the differences? Do you know if you've seen the very early episodes? One of the guys who worked in the lab in the beginning is an intern, and in later seasons they rotated interns every week or so, so they get to be more different looking . What do you think of the show? Enjoying it?

Awww, this is such a sad little thread . I thought I better give it a bump! Although I think I'm the only fan (I haven't seen Rose, Kate or Twinkle in a very long time), but who knows?! Maybe we can get some new appreciators of the Bones saga! It was the season finale over here tonight, which is the end of the 6th season. I was totally expecting the ending, so I'm excited to see what they do with it in season 7! Are there any fans out there I don't know about?? Come on! Join the forensic anthropologist's party!

What are you planning to watch on TV today/tonight
Peacefield replied to Johnny Carson Whit's topic in Music / TV / Films
The season finale of Bones starts in about an hour and a half *sniff*. I'll miss watching new episodes this summer! -
Hey there and welcome to BCF, Richard! Do you have any favorite authors or genres?

What kind of wine, Raven? Me, I've been sipping on a glass of Kim Crawford sauv blanc. Yum .

Ooooh, excellent, Lopeanha! It's VERY pretty! That cover is much more elaborate than the US version. Can't wait to hear what you think of the story! I only managed a few pages of A Discovery of Witches last night before I gave up and turned out the light. It's such a large book and hard to hold up in bed! -
Episode 7 of Being Human season 3. I'm not watching the 8th and final episode though because I don't want to sob myself to sleep tonight after seeing what's happened . So after this I'll just watch the bonus features.
-
I've not read the book but I'm just waiting to see Aidan Turner as a hobbit!! If ever a time for a sexy hobbit is possible, it'll be with this film!

The Chili Peppers are in heavy rotation right now in my iPod, so I've got on 'Save the Population.'

Oooooh yay! I'm so glad you are loving it . I've read the first two and am hoping to get the third soon. Don't you just love Flavia? She's hilarious. I read about 50 pages of A Discovery of Witches last night before bed, and I must admit that I sneaked a couple glances ahead to find out what happens with Diana and Matthew . -
Tbh I thought last year's season finale was more of a cliffhanger, but this one was still pretty intense. I don't trust Kevin Williamson any further than I can throw him though! He makes me nervous and I'm a little wary of what's going to happen in the next season

I'm ignoring your coffee comments, Kylie . And yes, soda is full of sugar! I haven't had any since 2006 . Right now I'm drinking plain old water. I had my limit of coffee and Crystal Lite at work today so tonight it's just this. Although I did come home this weekend with a bottle of blueberry wine, so I might crack that open. We went to a winery and helped bottle about 3 cases! It was fun.

Wonderful book, lopeanha! I enjoyed it so much and look forward to hearing what you think about it. It's 5:20am here at the moment so I haven't read yet today, but I got quite a big chunk in last night before bed and will continue after work tonight. Oh, that would be A Discovery of Witches that I'm reading right now . -
Coffee. Ugh...these 5:00am start days are annoying.
-
I made myself a taco salad tonight, with ground chicken, salsa, onions and red beans. Now I have leftovers for the next two days!

Water, waiting for my co-worker to get her act together so we can go down and score some coffee from the cafe! I'm starting get impatient...

Thanks, Poppy! I loved Sweetness too - Flavia is one of my favorite characters! I've been keeping my eye out for the 3rd book, but I think I may wait for the paperback since the other two I have are paperback. Forgive me because I can't think of the title, but I know the book is yellow and possibly has the word 'herring' in the title?? I've read most of Maeve's older books, Poppy, with the exception of Tara Road (which I loved), but I guess that's probably not considered new anymore. I was out of town over the weekend and didn't post this, but I think I'll just pick up right where I left off - Day 03 – Your favourite series Well, aside from the obvious vampire series, my favorite would have to be Iain Pears' art history mystery series with Jonathan Argyle as the main character. He did 7 of them, and I've been waiting patiently for Mr. Pears to write an 8th! They are just fun, nice little cozy mysteries which every once in awhile I need in amoungst my heavy and stressful books . The series includes: 1. The Raphael Affair 2. The Titian Committee 3. The Bernini Bust 4. The Last Judgement 5. Giotto's Hand 6. Death and Restoration 7. The Immaculate Deception Highly recommended you guys! If you like art history combined with a mystery, you will love this series.

Over the weekend I watched Final Sacrifice, with commentary by the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 guys. Never laughed so hard in my life!

I'm so jealous, Kylie!! I want my own copy of Spaced! Lucky Girl "I was like you once. Blonde hair. Scraggly little beard. Childlike ears, full of beans and spunk. I let my principles get in the way of things. I punched a bloke in the face once for saying that 'Hawk the Slayer' was rubbish." I'm about to complete my weekend with 3 of my favorite Bones episodes. Bring on the Booth-man!

Way to go to the Finns! I found out over yesterday that one of our former pro hockey players, Derek Boogaard, who played for the Wild before heading to New York, was found dead in his apartment over the weekend. He was only 28, and still lived here in Minneapolis. So far there hasn't been a cause of death but an autopsy is being performed.

Day 02 – A book that you’ve read more than 3 times: I've read Maeve Binchy's Circle of Friends more times than I can count. I just love the story so much, and something about that book just gives me a good feeling. I bet you guys were thinking I'd say another book, huh?? Well, I've read that one more than 3 times too but I didn't want to use something so obvious .

Oooh I forgot to respond before about you having Bel Ami and Water for Elephants on your TBR pile - excellent! Can't wait to hear what you think about them. You should see the movie Donnie Brasco after you read the book, Frankie. It'd be interesting to see how it differs, plus the movie is excellent! I love Johnny Depp and Al Pacino in it.

I am Charm . Even though I've not read a whole lot of it yet, I know I can't wait to see what else it has in store for me! And Matthew, wow!
