I remember first seeing him in Taxi, Kylie. It's a great old TV show you should try and find if you get a chance. It's too bad that Conaway had so many struggles in life with addiction. Last night I watched my favorite film of all time, Bottle Rocket . I listened to it with commentary on this time - Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson are silly together!

Jealous, Sofia! I love Food Network Saturday mornings. I don't have cable anymore so I can't watch, but I used to love seeing what everyone would cook up . Ina and Giada were two of my faves. Right now I'm watching the birds outside on my terrace, as is my cat! It's a wonder they don't notice her and fly off. I'm also watching the clouds and grumbling. I want sun!

I think that's a cat's biggest quaity, and they totally know it! They know we can't resist them so they just love to saunter around with that secret in their heads .

I have to admit when I saw you type 'train' and 'cat' in the same sentence, Kylie, I had to laugh! It takes so much more work than with dogs to do that with cats. The squirt bottle does work though, and when my kittens were little I would also sometimes shake a can that I had filled with pennies. They didn't like that sound! Sascha by nature is just a little snotty brat I've come to realize, and could probably care less what I tell her she can and can't do . She's very loveable and cuddly though, so I have a hard time disciplining her because she just looks so cute! I would LOVE to set up a camera in my apartment while I'm gone and see what she gets up to during the day. When I was downtown last night I saw a man in a wheel chair going down the sidewalk. It was an electric wheel chair and his feet were propped up straight in front of him. Anyway, he had his little white dog sitting up at his feet and the dog was loving it! Kind of like sticking his head out of a car window I imagine. It was very sweet .

I don't really have trouble imaging RP as a young Jacob, but Reese makes Marlena look much older than Jacob as opposed to what I imagined whilst reading the book. I haven't seen the film yet though so I won't judge, but Reese seems to look, um, very cougar-ish in her role .

Oooh I hope I get to see his commentating! And here I thought it was a musician...

Your Book Activity Today ~ Thread 14
Peacefield replied to Chrissy's topic in General Book Discussions
I'm sorry for your wandering mojos, you guys! I still have mine, but if I'm not having trouble find the time to sit down and read, when I do my attention span seems to be next to nothing since I keep thinking of other things I have going on in my head! It's annoying. I'm hoping I can empty my brain this weekend and think of only the book I'm reading, at least for longer periods of time! Speaking of, here I am online and not in front of an open book! Now I've decided to start a website so I've been working on that tonight . Oops! -
I don't know, Katrina, I've never seen it before! Right now I've got on a really interesting documentary on the US Constitution. I love history!

Who is the guy in your avvie, Frankie?
-
Coffeeeeee for me too! With cream and 1 sugar.

Torches - Foster the People I downloaded this album on Monday, and I've been listening to it almost non-stop ever since. I believe it has brought my music mojo back, so hopefully it lasts! Can't wait to see these guys in concert next month!!!

Oh God, I hope not! Leave it to Kevin Williamson though to pull a Dawson's Creek move on us...

No way, man! VH1, like MTV and MTV2, only play music now for about an hour a day . Not that I don't get to watch them, since I only get about 10 channels on my TV... I've never read Madame Bovary, but you're definitely right - to each their own! Tbh, you don't want to be around me if I'm lucky enough to watch a cooking channel and a competition show comes on. I swear up a storm! For basically the same reason I get mad at the Travel channel for airing shows about water parks and the most luxurious gigantic campers out on the road.

BBQ chicken and fresh green beans from the farmer's market . Yum.

I thought the same thing, Chaliepud! I've come to the conclustion that I liked everything BUT the last couple of scenes. If I watch it I turn it off right at a certain point and then it makes it a pretty enjoyable film for me . I watched part of Close Encounters of the Third Kind last night, then went to bed and listened to almost the rest of it while I went to sleep. Such a great film!

Your Book Activity Today ~ Thread 14

I somehow managed to find time for about 50 pages of Discovery of Witches last night. I can't seem to read more than that in one sitting, but at least I'm loving it as much as I hoped I would . -
Ah, I'd forgotten about the challenges and reading circles, Frankie. Otherwise, you're right, we choose our books pretty much the same way. I can completely understand what you mean when you save certain most-anticipated reads for later. It's like saving the best for last! Sometimes, like with other things in life, I read the books I'm 'meh' about before some others that I can't wait to read. It's nice to have something to look forward to! I'm so glad you found Lust for Life, Frankie! I think it's safe to say that you can think of both me AND Kylie when you find a Van Gogh book . Plus, you can never find enough books on artists and their tragic circumstances. I love cooking shows! When I had cable TV I think that's one of the channels (Food Network) that I watched the most. I really like cooking myself, so I always watched shows to get new recipes. I'm not one for competition shows though, just a chef there, behind a counter, showing me how to cook certain dishes is what I like.

Excellent choice, Weave! As of today, my music-listening mojo has disappeared and I'm not in the mood for anything. I hate it! I swear I think I skipped 698 of the 700 songs on my iPod today. I need something new to jumpstart me... Right now I've got on Jimi Hendrix doing 'Machine Gun' live, but I'm getting bored with it already. Insane.

Hey there and welcome to BCF, marypoppins! Glad you joined us .

I made use of all the fresh veggies I bought at the farmer's market yesterday and did a baked dish of zucchini, mushrooms, onions and chicken. Very tasty!

What are your first ten songs on iPod shuffle?
Peacefield replied to poppyshake's topic in Music / TV / Films
That's such a sweet story about your dad, Poppy! It's a great song, and James Taylor is one of the best. Excellent tunes in your iPod, Chaliepud! Another Biffy fan - good times! I approve . -

Great tunes, Poppy! Especially love the T-Rex . Street Fighting Man - Rage Against the Machine Know Your Quarry - Biffy Clyro Handy Man - James Taylor You're Already Gone - The Dig Ours - The Bravery Wet Sand - Red Hot Chili Peppers Navy Wives - White Rabbits New Pony - Dead Weather Look Inside - The Dig New Born - Muse -
It's one of my most favorite Muse songs! I can never get enough . Right now Prince is on the radio, 'Little Red Corvette' I think, ugh. Man, I know he's from Minnesota and all so I'm supposed to love him, but he's never done anything for me.

What are you planning to watch on TV today/tonight
Peacefield replied to Johnny Carson Whit's topic in Music / TV / Films
Both excellent choices, Simply K! I approve . Tonight my friend and I will be watching a bunch of old episodes of 21 Jump Street and hopefully a bit of The Office as well. -
Can I ask you how you decide on what order to read your books, Frankie? I'm just curious, because usually for myself, I have no idea what my next book will be. In my head, I don't let myself think about future reads because for one, I don't want it to distract me during my current read, and secondly I depend entirely on my mood when I'm ready to read my next book. Maybe because I don't go through books very quickly? I was just curious . When you say you don't know when you'll get to a certain book, it makes me think you read them in order of when you purchased them or something like that.
