  1. Frankie, is that the same LM Montgomery who wrote Anne of Green Gables? The night before last I finished Haunted, which is definitely my fave of the Kelley Armstrong series so far! Last night my friend and I swapped bags of books - I was returning some books of hers and am also letting her borrow A Discovery of Witches. She gave me the following - Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins Definitely Dead - Charlaine Harris All Together Dead - Charlain Harris I read the first few pages of Catching Fire this morning - yay!
  2. Sounds good, Chesil! Can't wait to chat with you guys . I'm looking forward to discussing those questions as well, and am itching for a good lively discussion on film-worthiness!
  3. Absolutely loved that book, Sadya! I read quite a bit of Haunted last night and today when I got home from work, so I only have 41 pages left! I'll definitely finish tonight. Tomorrow my friend is bringing the other 2 Hunger Games books and the next couple of Sookie books and I'm excited to dig into those!
  4. Thanks, Kell!! I'm glad to know that Alcide will be back - now his werewolf team I would definitely be on . I'm glad too that Sookie still technically works at Merlotte's. It seems strange around there without her!
  5. I watched the documentary Babies the other night, and it was fascinating!
  6. I'm finally getting caught up with TB and just finished watching episode nine of season 3. I should get the last 3 episodes on Tuesday from Netflix, and I'm curious to see how the season is going to end. Although who knows when I'll get to see season 4! Is that on for you guys in the UK yet? I must admit that I didn't have enough patience to watch every ep of season 2, so I made a couple people tell me everything that happened . No surprise there are some holes in my memory then!
  7. I'm up to about page 240 of Haunted, so pretty much exactly halfway .
  8. You weren't hijacking anything, Vodkafan! No worries . Thanks for that link too - I wonder if it'll ever play over here in the US? Ben, I've only read the first Hunger Games book but I loved it! I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the books, Kylie
  9. Ooooh Jared Leto! I'm watching True Blood, season 3. I'm laughing quite a bit at this one too, which I always love!
  10. I haven't read any Sarah Waters, but she writes Victorian mysteries too? I might have to get my hands on some of her stuff. Glad I could recommend this one to you guys!
  11. Yeah, it didn't even sound like him, Weave! Last night I put in Lars and the Real Girl to fall asleep to. I did watch about a half hour of it, then listened to about 10 minutes before I fell asleep
  12. Managed about 60 pages so far of Kelley Armstrong's Haunted .
  13. Thanks, Weave! Yes, the suit of armour was one of the creepiest things about the story, aside from the house itself!
  14. Synopsis via Waterstones: 'Sell the Hall unseen; burn it to the ground and plough the earth with salt, if you will; but never live there...' London, the 1880s. A young girl grows up in a household marked by death, her father distant, her mother in perpetual mourning for the child she lost. Desperate to coax her mother back to health, Constance Langton takes her to a seance. Perhaps they will find comfort from beyond the grave. But that seance has tragic consequences.Constance is left alone, her only legacy a mysterious bequest will blight her life. So begins "The Seance", John Harwood's brilliant second novel, a gripping, dark mystery set in late Victorian England. It is a world of apparitions, of disappearances and unnatural phenomena, of betrayal and blackmail and black-hearted villains - and murder. For Constance's bequest comes in two parts: a house, and a mystery. Years before a family disappeared at Wraxford Hall, a terrifying stately home near the Suffolk coast. Now Constance must find the truth behind the mystery, even at the cost of her life. Because without the truth, she is lost. I received this lovely book from Weave earlier this year, and knowing how much I enjoyed Harwood's 'The Ghost Writer,' this novel did not disappoint. These are the kinds of mysteries I love - the kind that bring you back in time, describe everything in such detail that you want to go there yourself very badly, and not seeing the end coming if it were standing right in front of you. Mr. Harwood has the ability frighten people in a good, delicious way. You know, when you giggle because you're so creeped out but can't wait to keep reading to see what happens! I feel like he's the Alfred Hitchcock of authors, if that makes any sense. I also always feel some kind of connection with his characters. Not that we have things in common, but that you care what happens to them, which to me is one of the most important things about reading a book. Highly recommended, guys!
  15. I finished the Seance last night and this morning I've decided to start Haunted by Kelley Armstrong. It's about high time I continue with this series!
  16. I've been reading off and on from The Seance this weekend, and I think I've only got about 50 pages left. Should finish it today!
  17. I watched Mary and Max this morning and thought it was lovely. I had never even heard of it before Weave and some others mentioned it here, so when it came up on Netflix I had to see it. I had no idea too that Philip Seymour Hoffman was the voice of Max - I love him! He's always been one of my favorite actors . Thanks for the recommendation, you guys!
  18. I saw Water for Elephants today and thought it was pretty good. The book was better, but the future Mr. Peacefield did a fine, fine job .
  19. Excellenf Ella cd, Chesil! Such great tunes on that one:D I bought the soundtracks for Grosse Point Blank Love it!!
  20. Well it's pretty much just a half caffeinated/half regular slightly sweet cuppa coffee with steamed skim milk (hence the latte). Mmm tasty!
  21. That's sad but funny, Sofia! It helps to know exactly what you want before you go in. You should do all kinds of research . I don't even think when I go in - 'half-caff, grande, non-fat, 2 Splenda latte' just comes out of me . Excellent Bethany, thanks for all the good recommendations! I downloaded most of the ones you listed (oh and nice on the OPI app - love it!) as well as Restaurant Story, Flashlight, Pandora, MakeTones, CamScan, Grocery List, SkyView, At Bat, Google Earth, eBay, Target, Mixology, Paper Toss, Movie Quizzle, Doodle God and Cut the Rope. Craziness!
  22. I have this on my TBR shelf, Weave! You'll have to let me know how it is if you read it before me .
  23. I wish! I think it tells you where the nearest Starbucks is, info on all of their drinks, checking on card balances, fave drinks, jobs, etc.
  24. My iPhone was waiting for me when I got home last night so I've been playing with it! I started looking through all the free apps but there are so many, I haven't even made my way to the games yet, oops! For now I've got downloaded the apps for Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, Starbucks (first one I did ), Amazon, CNN, iBookshelf, Fooducate, Pandora Radio and IMDB. I'm going to look for all the games you guys mentioned today .
