  1. I finished 'The Neighbors' by Carol Smith a couple of hours ago. I'm not sure what to read next, so hopefully just the perfect book will leap off my shelf at me!
  2. Oh no Kylie I'm so sorry!! I thought you guys were on the same schedule with us and now I've ruined it for you! Forgive me, I'm really sorry about that .
  3. How horrible, Kylie!! That is just so sad, and like Weave said, hopefully the guilty will get punished for what they did. Wow, think of all the resources and time they wasted, putting on this act while you guys searched in earnest for Keisha.
  4. I'm firmly on Team Stefan, but I don't trust creator Kevin Williamson so who knows what'll happen. I've only read the first book so I don't know what happens between everyone in the later books. Who knows though, even if things end up a certain way in the book, the TV people might change it all around! OMG Kylie this last episode was extra shocking to me for some reason!
  5. I'm watching yet another day of rain starting out my window . Why, do you ask? Because my TV broke last night! God this sucks. I have a backup TV in my closet but it's very small, boo. How am I going to do my Wii and watch Being Human?! I'm so mad.
  6. I'm so very sorry to hear about your cat, Chrissy . It's so hard losing a pet, I know. They do grow up fast, though! Sascha turns 6 in about a month and it just doesn't seem like I've had her that long (I got her when she was 10 wks old). She's very much a brat but I still love her .
  7. The death toll is closer to 300 now, Kylie . I was telling someone earlier that it's just like someone came through with a gigantic blender and just shredded everything. I'm not anywhere near there, no. Alabama was the worst affected and that's down in the south, on the coast. MN is up north bordering Canada. We get tornados too, but not nearly as bad and our season is usually in July/August.
  8. Has anyone been following the horrible devistation they've had down in the southern part of the US with all the tornados? It's so heartbreaking to watch . It's one thing to suffer material loss with all of those homes and businesses being leveled, but the human lives that have been lost is just so sad. I heard parts of the country have had close to 600 tornados just in a month's time! CNN Tornado Coverage I know the Royal Wedding is a huge event going on right now, especially for those in the UK, but I just think it's a little sad that here in the US that's the story that dominates the news today.
  9. Ditto to what Frankie said! I'm re-watching last night's episode of Bones, so I'm completely content!
  10. I will be finishing off the last of my lentil soup when I get home tonight, YES! I clearly made too big of a batch and am utterly tired of it . It's very good though, I'll admit.
  11. Hoffman looked so young in the film, Frankie! It was also funny to recognize all kinds of other actors - Richard Dreyfuss had a scene, the actor who played the Mayor of Amity in Jaws, and a guy from that old TV show 'Three's Company.' I had no idea! I had heard that Simon started writing Sound of Silence after the Kennedy assassination, but I had no idea it was also connected to the Genovese case. Interesting! And yes, very sad indeed . I watched Beautiful Girls last night - one of my faves!
  12. Glad to have you back, MountainGirl . Water for Elephants is an excellent book! I read a few pages of The Neighbors this morning before work and am hoping to get further tonight.
  13. Ditto on Bill Murray! The Graduate was pretty good, I had it in my Netflix queue too and finally decided to watch it. I'd never seen it before. I've come to the conclusion that I loved the way it was filmed, and I loved the music, but otherwise I was slightly underwhelmed. I'm glad I saw it though .
  14. Love Lost in Translation, Bookworm! Definitely one of my faves . I watched The Graduate the other night, and last night I popped in Close Encounters of the Third Kind to fall asleep to. I practically know it by heart but it's nice to have on in the background as I drift off.
  15. I agree wholeheartedly, Weave! I finished my re-read last night and tonight will continue on with the Neighbors.
  16. I loved Water for Elephants as well. Such a great story, and beautifully told. Big thumbs up from me!
  17. Ooooooooooh, ahhhhhhh, Paula, PRETTY!!
  18. I'm just about halfway through The Neighbors and it's getting very suspenseful now! It's been a little slow going since I also decided to re-read :cough:Twilight:cough: . I can't help it, I'm very sentimental that way...
  19. Hello and welcome to BCF, Chloe! You'll find many fellow fans of the True Blood books (myself included). Hope you have fun!
  20. Hey Nali! Glad to see you are making yourself at home here . When I click on your link, it just brings me to the Google Docs page but I don't see anything listed, unfortunately, sorry. Maybe you could double-check the link?

  23. A wee glass of my favorite sauv blanc, Kim Crawford. Yum
  24. A most excellent tune of course, Frankie! Holiday - Vampire Weekend
  25. Oooh cool, Chesil, I'm so excited to see it!! The cast is just hilarious. I've only seen one episode, Frankie, but I love that show! Right now I'm watching the morning local news, sharing with the anchors the joy at being missed by all this sn*w that was supposed to hit us last night. Ha! You suck, Mother Nature!
