  1. 101 Dalmatians!
  2. Yes, I often get offended. especially when its about Christianity and some really nasty negative things that are said BUT I remember that thats THEIR opinion and not mine. The thing that will get my ire up is when I defend my faith against an outright blatantly nasty offensive statement only to be told that its free speech so they can say what they want YET get offended when I express MY opinion. How stupid is that? Its okay to say what ever falls out of their mouths (without getting the okay from their brain) but the moment I (or other Christians) respond, its hate speech. I think people can discus differences without personal attacks and stepping away from reason. Even if my opinion goes against mainstream, as long as I am not disrespectful of your feelings and I do nothing to hurt you then how I feel about something shouldnt be a problem. If my beliefs and feelings are not hindering your happiness then whats the issue? Our problem is that many factions feel the need to not only push their agenda's they feel the need to control our thoughts also.
  3. Happy Birthday Paula, I pray your day is as joyous as you can stand!

  7. I thought we had to keep the landline for internet also but we don't! We use Centurylink (formerly Sprint) and we just pay for the internet now.
  8. Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman with Cecile Tyson.
  9. As for the cold calls, I found that politicians did not feel the need to adhere to the law. During the elections our phone was ringing off the hook with calls from Republicans,Democrats and Others reminding us to vote. What gave them the right to disregard our request to not get solicitation calls?
  10. Mayhem has a bottom tooth and he appears to be growing fangs in the upper gums...interesting!

  11. A 2006 Nissan Pathfinder SUV silver gray with the luggage rack on top, CD player, seats 7. Its gorgeous and I look good driving it! We've been Nissan lovers for decades. Hubby drives a Ford F150 pickup that he purchased from work when our little Nissan pickup gave up the ghost. Up till then we had a Nissan Altima which our second daughter wrecked, then she totaled our Dodge Grand Caravan minivan. It was NOT a good year for her. I digress, we have no public transport and a small low to the ground car just wont do for me. I need to be UP!
  12. Even though I should be studying for my finals, I have succumbed to a book just SCREAMING to be ! The Sherlocian by Graham Moore is just the delectable dreary, cold Sunday afternoon mystery read. I love how Moore goes back to 1900 England and then travels to the present. I'm not a great review writer so I'll keep it brief. Arthur Conan Doyle hates his creation Sherlock Holmes and as we know kills him off at one point, then 10 years later, he is brought back (found by Watson). The mystery is that we never knew WHY he chose to bring him back. The secret is supposedly found in Doyle's last diary that turns up missing. A large international Sherlockian group has searched for decades but no clue until a prominent member says he found the diary, he turns up dead and its up to Harold (the protagonist) to find the murderer. He travels between New York and England to search for clues. Murder is afoot....
  13. Read this over the summer and loved it! I have the second book hidden somewhere on my bookshelf, must find it for my holiday reading pile!
  14. pixie, I hate cold calls with a passion! I signed us up for the "do not call" list and it worked pretty well except for the occasional pushy "bill" collector who had no leg to stand on. Then there was the bill collector who would place 10 calls a day. Excuse me, this will NOT cause you to get paid faster and I can do with less stress in my life, thankyeverymuch.... When we disconnected the landline the only nonfamily member with our cell number are the daycare, high school, job, doctors offices and mortgage company. Everyone else will have to write! Even at home I was not one to talk too much. I mean, I would look at the phone ringing and have to decided whether to answer or not. If I answered, it was out of obligation and not because I really wanted to talk. If I have a desire to talk, I call. I'm just not that chatty! I will speak longest to my mom and one close friend. The rest are quick conversations with the kids and hubby. I can't STAND how rude people are on the phone! I have had to tell people coming into my bookstore to tone it down, especially when they are loudly using foul language. If you come to my counter for checkout while on the phone, you get bare bones customer service, no greeting, money on the counter and then I turn my back to do something else or warmly greet the next customer. Trust me, they notice the difference! Anyway, we decided we were only paying for a phone service that we didnt use or was constantly dodging. I didnt like checking voice mail either always bad news. Why pay for fielding calls? The best news? No more family ringing the house phone asking my hubby to do things:mrgreen: ! Funny they can call the land line all day long but can't be bothered to call the cell... go figure!
  15. We just recently decided that we no longer wanted a house phone. It was costing too much AND we were just fielding calls. Now we only use our cell phones and the peace is AMAZING!
