  1. Up was absolutely amazing. Funny, adventurous and emotional.
  2. I don't agree with banning films. If you feel uncomfortable about a film, don't watch it, simple as that. By banning it, is like you're trying to impose your opinion on others. Besides, some films that were banned at their time, are now considered to be classic, like A Clockwork Orange or The Last Tango In Paris (eager to see both of them)
  3. I saw Public Enemies last night. I thought it was a really well-made film. In the afternoon I'm going to watch Up.
  4. For me, an absolutely gorgeous adaptation is Atonement. Everything was great. Sense & Sensibility was pretty good, but could have been a little better. There are probably more, but these are on my mind right now.
  5. I have 200 pages left to read (don't think it too much, considering that the book is about 600 pages...)
  6. I think that's the best part. Another song I absolutely adore in both terms of music and lyrics is The Sound Of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel Hello darkness, my old friend, Ive come to talk with you again, Because a vision softly creeping, Left its seeds while I was sleeping, And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence. In restless dreams I walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone, neath the halo of a street lamp, I turned my collar to the cold and damp When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of A neon light That split the night And touched the sound of silence. And in the naked light I saw Ten thousand people, maybe more. People talking without speaking, People hearing without listening, People writing songs that voices never share And no one dared Disturb the sound of silence. Fools said i,you do not know Silence like a cancer grows. Hear my words that I might teach you, Take my arms that I might reach you. But my words like silent raindrops fell, And echoed In the wells of silence And the people bowed and prayed To the neon God they made. And the sign flashed out its warning, In the words that it was forming. And the signs said, the words of the prophets Are written on the subway walls And tenement halls. And whispered in the sounds of silence.
  7. Computer viruses. I just got rid of one today!
  8. I'm in the middle of The Portrait Of A Lady.
  9. Now that I think about it, the 1955 adaptation of East Of Eden was horrible.
  10. The Wind That Shakes The Barley
  11. and
  12. :D WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!
  13. no, I just like her!
  14. To Kill A Mockingbird is one of my favorite books.
  15. So, I watched the 2005 of Pride & Prejudice like two or three years ago and loved it. Then, last summer when I began to read Jane Austen, I decided to leave this one for the end, as I knew what happened. I just finished it today and really liked it, though I need some more time to "examine" it. As usual, the writing style carried me through the whole book. And once again, all the characters were greatly portrait, although I think that making Elizabeth's portrait was more difficult for me than of all the other Austen heroines. I really liked Elizabeth and Darcy, despite their faults, as well as Mr Bennet for his sense of humour. I sympathized Jane, however her naivety irritated me a little. I can't say I felt any sympathy for Mrs Bennet and totally disliked Lydia, due to her unbearable selfishness. I remember watching the film, and telling my mum when Darcy made his first proposal:"He asked her to marry him without having dated first? Without even been kissed?!"How funny does it seem now!
  16. I believe that 6 was much better than, say,4. Completely disagree. I thought it was maybe the best adaptation I've seen and I think Keira Knightley to be a very talented actress.
  17. Om my god Echo, they're gorgeous! You're really a very talented photographer!

Hi Cap, I hope that you'll find what you seek here.:)
  19. It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possesion of a good fortune must be in want of a wife. Pride & Prejudice God, I love this line!
  20. I just finished it and I think it was a really good book. I thought that Forster presented the themes of racism and prejudice brilliantly. Kinda annoyes me that I don't have anything else to add.
  21. I don't see the TBR list as something to strictly follow. I mean, I can a buy a book that's not in my TBR, and read it directly. To me, the TBR pile is just a way to keep in order what you wish to read it-whenever you want and if you want to.
