    Hello

Hi Stevie! Good to meet ya! Hope you enjoy the forum as much as I do.
  4. I thought I was discussing the cost of e-readers and how they could potentially harm your sales however I have to agree we could go round in circles all day. I'm relatively new here and didn't realise it had been discussed before (I should really learn to search the site more:blush:). My apologies if I annoyed you or offended you in any way, that was not my intention. I do understand your point of view and was just trying to take part in the discussion. IMHO I'm not opposed to e-readers and as I've said before I think they could be of benefit in certain circumstances. I personally would prefer a book and couldn't imagine a world without them either!. As far as I'm aware that is not the case in all countries - but I could be wrong!
  5. thank you I thought so too! I had it as my phone wallpaper for ages!

  6. My local Spar has a new display fully dedicated to them! Some accidentally 'fell' into my basket too
  7. Don't think a lot would admit that! You should have a red face! lol
  8. I do see your point Talisman about the cost to the industry but unfortunately every industry has its problems from the music business to the perfume business. If a person can go online and download music or a film for nothing illegally, whats to stop them doing the same thing with online books or even your full collection of books? We've all heard the trouble the music industry has had but it still goes on. Then not everyone can afford to buy e-readers, I know its a luxury I couldn't afford. Not everyone can even afford to buy books from new and although I understand your plight and sympathise, does that mean you disagree with libraries or bookrings for example or any other scheme to borrow or pass on your books? I would imagine it would be of greater good to you to let others read your work and create more of a fan base and perhaps increase the amount of people who would actually go out and buy your books. But hey I'm rambling again - sorry!
  9. Hello alyssagurl! :welcome2: Welcome to the forum! Hope you enjoy it here. Don't worry you won't be able to reply to this. You have to post 10 times before you can reply to messages or edit your posts (I'm also new and learnt this to my embarrassment ) I would suggest you go to introductions and tell us all a bit about yourself and what you like to read. Also check out the rules etc you will find out all you need to know about how to use the forum (makes life a lot easier). I'm sure you'll get to know everyone soon and have a good time :D

  10. Just to throw a spanner in the works! I have to say I don
  11. Leftover roast chicken with chips, peas and gravy today.
  12. I did the same thing with my colour scheme and had to do it all again! I loved Edinburgh and really would like to go back again for a visit with my kids. I had been with the school when I was 11 (far too long ago to remember!) but this time I was old enough to appreciate it properly. I'm really into old buildings and the architecture there is amazing! So is the history of the place.

  13. We had Roast Chicken, stuffing, roast potatoes etc. followed by pavlova with grapes and pineapple which my daughter made (she's only 12 but makes a mean pavlova )
  14. My daughter and I are waiting for Desparate Housewives We think its really funny! lol (Maybe should have posted this in the guilty pleasures thread )

  19. I still mash my potatoes with my veg and gravy like I did when I was small I would never do it if I was out for a meal tho! I also like to put strawberry jam on sausage rolls - really delicious:smile2: I really love the series Charmed - childish I know but really entertaining and funny not to mention the georgeous Julian McMahon
  20. I've just finished reading Indelible by Karin Slaughter ... at last. I say at last not because I didn't like it, it turned out to be rather good in fact (thanks for the reassurance Magicstar;)). Its just it took a lot longer than her novels usually do to get into the story, or should I say stories. There were in fact two plots which ran at the same time and then blended together towards the end beautifully, with a few surprises thrown in! It was the usual bunch from Grant County but this book delved further into one character in particular, revealing a lot about their past. All in all it was a good read with a lot of twists and turns towards the end. I would recommend it if you like the crime thriller genre. I give it 6/10 just because it took a wee while to get into it
  21. Really? Sounds great -Ive never been to London but have always wanted to go. Now I at least have somewhere in mind :)

  22. Leftover stew from yesterday and fresh bread - yum!
  23. The dead girl sat inside the glass display case, a pale and delicate curio placed on a shelf by a madman. Play Dead by Richard Montanari
