  1. At least this way she doesn't get her (or hopefully any) interview(s) - I really do not want to see or hear her again. Oh she's not still glued to that bed is she?!!!
  2. Lol - was in football mode - I put my BB hat on at 10. It's very good news though.
  3. Paella - always a good way of using up leftover chicken.
  4. As irritating as Mario is I think I could tolerate him for just another week as I cannot tolerate Alex at all, for one second longer. If she stays I'd like a special telly which has no volume when she speaks and no picture when she's on it. What does anyone think about last night's 'error' by BB (diaryroomgate)? Personally I'm a bit suspicious - I think people may have started to forget about Alex and concentrated on Mario and BB has reminded us what she can be like.
  5. I'm looking forward to giving one or two a try and swapping notes with readers in the library - I expect we will have our usual stand of books.
  6. I saw them give a brief synopsis of the first three books today on R and J - I thought (as well as East of the Sun) that No Time For Goodbye sounded good also.
  7. I think East of the Sun looks good - another one I keep looking at in Tescos but will probably get from the library.
  8. LOL - and I'm wondering if she has lost the use of her legs as she never seems to get out of bed.
  9. Yeah apparently:lol:
  10. Well we now have a villain and I predict that in true BB style the nomination system will be contrived to keep her in. Although the housemates will want rid at the first opportunity I suspect BB will want to hang on to this confrontational housemate. Or am I just too cynical!
  11. Good luck for tomorrow Janet. I've agreed to do A level French with my friend in September - looking forward to studying again but wish I could do it without the exam, particularly as I too am doing it for fun.
  12. Hmmm you'll soon have a very tall reading pile now that you've joined us. Hello and welcome JudyB
  13. I marinaded a small chicken in spices, lime and a dash of tequilla and then roasted it - the kitchen smelt gorgeous - and served it with potato salad and a mixed salad.
  14. I thought it was a disappointing selection too.
  15. BBQ based on Mexican recipes - tequilla chicken wings, marinaded steaks, nachos and salad - accompanied by a nice rose - yum:D
  16. Yes so do I - I love the Rupert illustrations. Oh and by the way welcome - this is a very friendly forum
  17. I read that article at work - it was a good read.
  18. Hello and welcome - I'm intrigued by your username.
  19. How will we know you? Do you ask any questions?
  20. Indoor BBQ - as soon as OH lit it the weather suddenly changed from brilliant sunshine to a heavy shower of hailstones meaning that the food had to be brought inside to be eaten. The minute we finished the sun came back out - can you believe it!!!
  21. I was sorry to see Lucinda go but am pinning my hopes on Claire - I admire her focus and the fact that she is a doer.
  22. We've got to tape it for my youngest - she's off out to see her new boyfriend.
  23. That made me laugh
  24. Hello and welcome:D
  25. I know I'm always mentioning him but for my money I reckon Jonathan Coe will at some point have his place in modern literature. I think of him as a less wordy modern day Charles Dickens - he uses humour, caricatures, and differing perspectives to recreate the social and political and human conditions of the latter part of the 20th century. In decades to come people will read his books and get a true flavour and picture of 'the past'.
