As a lifelong Chelsea supporter I would LOVE to have Mourinho back at the Bridge, the players and the supporters loved him and Alex Ferguson needs an opposing manager who can match him for creating team spirit..

+1! :)

We managed an away draw today and our 2 rivals both won, which confirms a 4th place finish!  We're comfortably top of the form table after 10 wins and 2 draws in our last 12 games.  Shame to miss out on 2nd & promotion, but a nice win in our last match next Friday will finish off a fantastic season!

No disgrace there for them Sedge....done very well, you should be well chuffed.

Andy and 'Dale beaten 2-1 on Saturday said they got a bollicking in the changing room afterwards apparently...lol. Dropped a place due to goal difference. Just have the two games left of the season, one agains league leaders and the other are mid table.

U'15's had there last game last Thursday and binned 11-0 against the league winners and probably will get promoted. Ho hum...chuck this season behind them and look forward to a fresh start and new league after summer.

Manchester United must be kicking themselves.  They only accepted Alex Ferguson's resignation because they thought they could get the mighty Dan Nancarrow for next season.  Unfortunately for them 'The Cornish Mourinho' has agreed to stay on at Poltair Park and take the giants of St Austell to the title in 12 months time! :D

Moyes is nailed on and you can guarantee that Fergie had a lot of say in who his successor is going to be. It's a big task for whoever comes in and takes the job not only because of the legacy left by Fergie but the fact that the squad needs a major overhaul. I did think it was a bit odd that one of the criteria United said the new manager would have to fill was playing exciting attacking football. Moyes is really good at many things but playing attacking football isn't one of them, just ask Everton fans.

Definitely interesting times ahead.

In what way does the squad need a 'major overhaul'? I think he's left it in good shape.

I think that this is one of the poorer squads (as a whole) that Utd have had, it's a testament to Fergie that it has done so well. Giggs and Scholes will retire soon and that's a huge amount of experience to lose.  The current squad with them in it looks good but take them out and it potentially lacks depth. Vidic and Ferdinand are in the twilights of their respective career's and while I think Evans and Smalling are good replacements more depth will be required. I personally am not sure about Jones, with the right coaching he could be a very good player but equally I can see him going to other way. Anderson is fat, Evra has been below par and Rooney could well be leaving. With City shelling out huge sums of money and Chelsea likely to spend heavily again squad development is needed.

Well done to West Cornwall U13s who beat Liverpool U13s yesterday to win the U13s National Championship!  It was especially impressive as I understand that their opponents had a few players who were signed to the academies at Liverpool, Everton and Crewe Alexandra, so they may be seen in the Premier League one day!

That is great news Sedge...well done your youngsters....St Austell scouting any of them... ;)

Well done to David Moyes too....good luck in filling Sir Fergie's shoes!

We finished our season with a fantastic 7-1 home win.  To be fair our opponents struggled to put together a side of 11 players who were willing to travel all the way here from North Devon on a grim Friday evening with torrential rain.  The whole Liverton team played with  smiles on their faces and never gave up, scoring a spectacular consolation goal in the last minute. Some funky robotic dancing from their number 7 at half time as well!  The home crowd gave them a standing ovation as they walked off the field, so a great (but wet) evening was had by all!

We seem to have been officially installed as title favourites for next season.  I think people are jumping the gun, but it's a nice feeling.

What a great result for your end of season....you have had a good one. Can't believe that is it for a while again...hope next season goes as well for you and you don't lose any of your players.

Andy and Glendale lost 4-2 today to a team of numpties with a 'bairn' playing for them, or it seemed like it, moaning every five minutes. Eventually got booked but should have been sent of apparently, he brought one of our guys down and then claimed he didn't touch him but he clearly did, happened right in front of us. Then is takes of his shirt and moans and walks away, called back booked and still moaned. We didn't see the whole game as per normal and we missed Glendale's pen...and yes you guessed it Andy took it and put it comfortably away. It was his '50th' goal...typical we weren't there in time, but having said that he scores when we aren't around.

It will be their last game of the season next Saturday and a home game too to round it off. Be great if they could pull of a win but it is against the league leaders.  Hopefully teams below them can help sort out places in the league before next weekend, so they are out of the relegation zone. At the moment 3pts clear of trouble. Also celebrating their '40th' year anniversary, having a bit of a do Saturday night, dinner, speeches and ceilidh after. Should hopefully be a good night.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well Andy and Glendale did the deed on Saturday, although the total outcome of the league isn't quite settled, but they came from 2-0 down and then beat the league leaders 4-2 in absolutely appalling conditions. Heavy rain and the pitch was getting worse by the minute. The ref came over with 5 mins go and at the stage he was going to abandon the game, fortunately it went off a bit and they got the fixture fulfilled. They were well chuffed.

Celebration later on too as we were at their 40th year of the club dinner/ceilidh. Good night had by all.

Some of Glendale members past and present. Andy is in the front row 4th from the left white shirt and stripey tie. Alex, front row red kilt is his assistant coach at with his U'15's team and were thrilled when he was awarded the 'young player of the year' (something Andy won two years in a row :D ).

So the final results are in and Andy and Glendale are safe from relegation thanks to a draw yesterday from rivals. Saved by 2pts and finished on 30 and 3rd bottom although close results were had from other teams. Bottom 2 go down. Boots away for the summer (kind off, no doubt still be some sort or training at times). He has now signed up for summer league footie with some of his mates, so that should keep him fit.

Have a good summer break everyone.
