  1. Hello and welcome to the forums :) Im Dan btw

  2. The 3 brothers and death? Isn't that something from Chaucer? Pardoners Tale? I think its just a book of the fairytales the wizards and witches in the HP series tell their children. The wizard equivalent of muggle fairy tales. Have a look on the net. Its got side notes by Dumbledore and it has been transcribed from the original runes by Hermione. I THINK. Can't be bothered to check now but I think thats basically what the book is.
  3. If its true, it just reassures me my dislike for film adaptations is for good reason. They shouldn't be able to just do things like that.
  4. Haha, yeah. I think one of my favourite places for parts of the books to take place has to be The Burrow. It's great there! Especially when Fred and George are winding up Mrs Weasley.
  5. Ah, that LOTRs book sounds lovely. Yeah, I wish I could afford leatherbound books. I wouldn't mind the Unseen University versions of the Discworld books. They are pretty nice. Sorry for going abit off topic!
  6. Yeah there was two released for Comic Relief I believe. Quidditch Through The Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Comic-Relief-Harry-Potters-School/dp/0747574510 I really want them but they are far too expensive. Going to buy Tales of Beedle the Bard aswell or whatever its called. Just so I have the whole set of Potter related books. EDIT: Just seen this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beedle-Collectors-Offered-Exclusively-Amazon/dp/0956010903/ref=pd_sim_b_3 and I really want this version of it. I love the way look of the leather bound book.
  7. I have a library about 5 minutes away from my house and from the outside it looks like the place I would enjoy spending time in. Really old looking, seems to have character. But, I have never been there. I think I might pop down this afternoon actually. Something to do. Does anyone know if in the UK you have to pay to use the local libraries or does it vary?
  8. Just saw your top 10 list and I love HP series and Warstone Chronicles series! I think I will take some of your list as a recomendations. Dragon Keeper series, Vampire Academy and Vampirates all sound like books I will enjoy!

    :)

  9. This made me laugh loads just now: 'Mad-Eye Moody?' said George thoughtfully, spreading marmalade on his toast. 'Isn't he that nutter -' 'Your father thinks very highly of Mad-Eye Moody,' said Mrs Weasley sternly. 'Yeah, well, Dad collects plugs, doesn't he?' said Fred quietly... Brilliant.
  10. To be honest, I want to read them all. Just because I love the HP series. But my top 3 would be Hogwarts: A History, Magical Me, and Monster Book of Monsters purely because I love when Hagrid introduces new animals and monsters. They are great!
  11. Haha, I have one myself so I understand! :)

  12. When you said 'buttonmashing will begin on Aurora', I thought Aurora was the title of a book you are writing. It all makes sense now. Took me long enough! :D

  13. Never needed to send a book, but I think I would go with a Jiffybag. I want to get a fantasy bookring going!
  14. I would also love to read Magical Me! I think it would be brilliant although we would know the whole thing is a load of rubbish!
  15. Vanity was the real villian in my opinion, I loved Dorian. Its got to be Draco Malfoy from HP books.
  16. I'm on book 4 now, doing a re-read of the series atm, so yeah I'd be in.
  17. What? I think you may be a bit confused! Unless you have found a published version then feel free to send a copy my way!
  18. Ah, I just love all the Inheritance books. I wish he would write a bit quicker!
  19. Pratchett books do tend to go quickly, so if I see some I dont have, I will buy them even if I dont intend to read them for a long time. Saw a man who looked alot like him today, Had really cool charm bracelet and necklaces on.
  20. You write things like that here, then post this in another thread. Sorry, but you contradict yourself in your first two posts on this site. Think next time you make comments like that, yeah?
  21. Out of interest, what genre is Aurora? I'm intrigued. If its all a secret, just say nothing :D

  22. I must say, Eragon, Eldest and Brisingr are three of the books I most enjoyed reading and couldn't put down on the first read through. I know they are YA books but I'm stupidly excited for the fourth book even though its probably ages away!
  23. I bought four more Terry Pratchetts this week. Almost at the end of PoA and tempted to bail from the back to back read. I really fancy a change, but still dont want to let myself down! Too difficult to decide! haha
  24. I'm now using a photo of my girlfriend. It's the perfect shape as there was other people in it and I ripped them out. I also often use the arm of the chair though! Or something similar.
