  1. I am reading The Hobbit at the moment and I actually hate myself for not carrying on with it before! I love it and have barely put it down over the last few days. I'm almost at the end but at least I have the whole LOTR trilogy and 3 other Tolkien books to keep me going after! I have just read the chapter Spiders and Flies and I actually love Bilbo!
  2. Haha, I do believe your actions are forgivable.

I understand! I went up to London today to find a flat for me and my girlfriend to move into this time next month! Made on offer on one too :D

But yeah, things are good here.

What about yourself? How's life treating you?

  3. ahhh, i may be interested in the figures. Could you pm me a list of figures and prices by any chance? i just read Pyramids with Teppic the Assassin so may be interested in him.
  4. I hate myself for not jumping in quick enough when there was some Pratchett's around!
  5. The best bookshop I have been to is in my city (Portsmouth). It is called Night Owls Bookstore and has over 150,000 second hand books of all genres and conditions. Every book is either
  6. I recently bought Sabriel as it was only
  7. In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkien (It's so good!)
  8. Like Bookjumper, I love the Unseen University and can't wait for Unseen Academicals! I won't be getting the hardcover, I want to get all of the series in the Corgi versions with the images on the covers. Pyramids is really good, however, I can't help but think it would be really good to have a book entirely about someone in the Assassins Guild! Still, it's a brilliant read!

  10. I use Shelfari! the link to mine is in my sig! Feel free to add me. I really need to start adding the books I have, and want to get. Meh. I will eventually.
  11. I've tried very hard to keep this book at bay, but have finally given in. I wont be buying a brand new copy of the series, but am keeping my eyes open in second hand bookshops and charity shops for a copy of the series and I will be reading it. I'm kinda looking forward to it and do hope I get caught up in the series because I love it when that happens and it becomes impossible to put a book down so yeah... I'll let you know when I have read it and what I thought about it!
  12. I wasn't here first time around but welcome back! Look forward to chatting around the forums!
  13. I started reading The Hobbit years ago and never got into it as I had other things that came up and got in the way of concentrating on it and the same goes for The Lord of the Rings. However, I did really enjoy what I read and have since bought various copies of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings in really old, interesting looking versions and will definitely be reading them soon! From the bookshop I use, I managed to get The Hobbit, LOTR, The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales and The Children of Hurin all for
  14. I will definitely be getting the Encyclopedia when it is released! I hope it is released with a cover similar to that of a book from Hogwarts Library! In Waterstones today I found a copy of Quidditch Through The Ages which I hadn't seen before (I think it was a new edition) which on the back had the price in
  15. I do intend to buy this just so I have the entire Harry Potter collection, however, I am not desperate to read it and will wait until I can get it for a few quid at the second hand bookshop. I do think that Rowling could have written and released a better book from the series such as History of Hogwarts or something similar.
  16. My views on them still haven't changed. I don't like the idea of reading off a screen and not having pages to turn etc. Also, I am like MuggleMagic and love books that you can see have been well read and enjoyed by people before you. That's also why the majority of my books are second hand. I also love getting a really unusual copy of a book, for example, I have the Hobbit which I want to read soon but when I was in my favourite bookshop I found an american copy which was a bit tatty and was printed in 1940. I also love getting lost amongst the shelves in bookstores and it's kinda difficult and has a much less romantic kind of feel to it, browsing the 'shelves' online.
  17. Hello! Hope you have fun around the forums.
  18. Ahhh, almost time for some Pratchett. I often visit my favourite bookshop and every time I go there seems to be a few more Discworld novels that I don't have and as I know they go fast, I buy them. Yesterday I bought about 8 books from there and got a few more Discworld ones so now I have about 16 waiting to be read sat on my shelf! I can't really complain as the bookshop does decent quality books for

  20. I am currently having serious laptop issues and want to use the forums alot more but the battery on the laptop isnt charging so my time on the forums is limited untill i get a new laptop which will most likely be when my student loan comes through. 21. Ah, well last night i finished my re-read of Half Blood Prince and once I have done a few jobs around the house, ima sit down with a cuppa and make a start on DH! im excited about reading it as i dont remember much of it at all, im looking forward to finishing the series in one whole read through, and im also not looking forward to having no more Harry Potter As for the films, i still need to see them all so i am going to do a marathon watch through with the girlfriend then going to see HBP at the cinema when it comes out!
  22. I'm not enjoying the fact this thread died. Someone? Anyone? Can you hear me? .........please?
  23. I read the 12 books in the Saga of Darren Shan ages ago now and got to read them back to back as a good friend of mine (who acts as my personal fantasy library) lent me all 12. I loved them all and especially I have also read Lord Loss by Darren Shan from the Demonata but haven't had a chance to read any of the others. I keep seeing them and meaning to buy them as I really enjoyed Lord Loss.
  24. can you please use spoilers? i want to read this book and now know something i didnt want to until i read it. thanks. i think alot of nick hornby's work looks really good actually. might have to get a few of his books.
  25. There is a loose connection between the two as the main character, the boy with Aspergers, loves murder mystery novels especially Sherlock Holmes ones. And the book is basically a murder mytery with a difference!
