  1. Oh I love those book people!!!! Was it the '10 books for almost free' set you bought? They're definitely going to heaven!
  2. I've finished the the next Lincoln Rhyme book in the series which was The Empty Chair by Jeffrey Deaver. I found it quite enjoyable but not as good as The Bone Collector or The Coffin Dancer. Lincoln Rhyme and his sidekick Amelia Sachs are in North Carolina preparing for Lincoln's ground-breaking operation which could help him recover the use of some muscles. Whilst they're in the hospital, they receive a visit from the local sheriff who asks for Lincoln's assistance in tracking down the notorious Insect Boy who has killed a boy and kidnapped a local girl. The police department think they only have 24 hours to find the girl before Insect Boy kills her. As per Deaver, there are many twists and turns along the way to keep the reader hooked! 8/10
  3. Arghhhhh.......don't cheat Frankie!!!! Step away from the spoiler!
  4. Well last night I had a Weightwatchers Mango and Passionfruit mousse which was really really nice. I'm quite surprised! I also had low fat houmous with carrot batons and a tortilla filled with more houmous and salad again (loving them and they're only 5 points which isn't bad. I'm allocated 20 points per day and only had 13.5 yesterday
  5. I've just finished The Empty Chair and really enjoyed it, however I don't think I liked it as much as The Coffin Dancer or The Bone Collector. I think I prefer the I did love the last twist though....wasn't expecting it.
  6. Oooooh also forgot to mention that I bought Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist!! So while I'm hunting down a copy of The Stone Monkey by Deaver I'm going to read it :D:D:D

  7. I'm good!! Or maybe the odds were good! Well I thought that Kate might be in the final but I'm not sure now. I definitely think Yasmina will be there but not sure who else now. The interview episode is my favourite of the entire series.....can't wait to see them squirming under pressure!
  8. Our winters have become less severe as the years have gone by but then last winter, we received a good few inches more than usual and the nation seemed to come to a standstill. It was weird as winters were much worse when I was a kid but people just got on with building snowmen and having fun. :D

There's still loads of places I want to visit in England. I haven't actually been to the capital yet which is totally shameful  but whenever the opportunity has arisen I've chosen to go elsewhere.....mainly up north which is much more scenic and especially Edinburgh. However, this summer I really want to visit Emily Bronte country and the Bronte museum, the stately home which was used to portray Pemberley in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Alton Towers theme park :D

I hope your reading mojo has returned :D and everything is well!

  9. :D Frankie!!

I don't think you've missed much really but I've been laying low myself with work and sunny weather! Ooooh I finished Deaver's Empty Chair about 30 mins ago and it was amazing as per ususal!

How have you been? How's your healthy eating going?

My nickname thing is Agent-Tattletale who is a character in Chuck Palahniuk's Haunted (12/10!!) I've never heard of Goodreads but will check it out.

Finland sounds brilliant, as does the culture and the people! I think I would definitle like to visit it one day....thanks for the offer by the way! :D Obviously, if you ever find yourself in Newcastle Upon Tyne you can stay at my humble abode too :D The idea of light nights sounds fantastic! Around June time we get sun until about 10 - 10:30ish which is without a doubt my favourite time of year.

  10. I've just joined weightwatchers thanks to my ever growing waistline so my dinners from now on will be low-fat/low-calorie/low-food meals without dessert Tonight I had 2 wholemeal torilla wraps filled with low-fat red pepper homous, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and gherkins. It was surprisingly nice but I'm missing pudding already!
  11. Haaa! I love pictures of clouds for some reason, especially clouds with sunlight piercing through. I've no idea why??!!

I've just noticed your Johnny Depp avatar....good choice!! What is it about him in eyeliner??! It just works!!

  12. Thanks Suzanna!

Well I love art nouveau designs so I googled art nouveau images and fell in love with that one. I think I added it to my background in customize profile (I've just been in to User CP and can't see how on earth I did it! Think I must have been playing about with profile designs??)

Sorry I've not been much help although I'll keep checking :D

  16. Any guesses for tonight's firing? I think if James doesn't do well then it could possibly be him
  17. It's a lovely story isn't it. Very romantic! Jesmond Dene is gorgeous during any season too so it's a real treasure. We're very lucky to have it :D And like you say, there's quite a bit of history wherever you travel to really. If ever you get the chance you should really visit :D What is it like to visit Finland?

Yeah 9/10! Haaaa! I'm holding out for that perfect book. I suppose I have some 10/10's on my bookcase but I read them before I joined the forum. (but they're rare finds )

I'm sure you'll get your mojo back and like you say, when the weather gets better you tend to see people more often and make the most of warm days by being outside. I wouldn't worry too much :) (plus, the Vampire Lestat wasn't the best book to read. I had to really push myself through it :irked:)

  18. I love the Lincoln Rhyme series by Jeffrey Deaver. So yeah.....Lincoln Rhyme! He's super intelligent and was played by Denzel Washington in The Bone Collector movie which increases his appeal!!
  19. Neil Gaiman! He has quite a dry sense of humour which suits me just fine.
  20. I agree with the need for more ghost stories. They seems to be out of fashion at the moment I'd like to see more!
  21. Welcome back nicnic! I wasn't here when you were last around so it'll be nice to get to know you! I see you're a Gateshead Lass!! So am I!!!
  22. Wow!! I didn't realise he had a film out this year. He's my all time favourite :D Super happy now!
  23. I finished Darkly Dreaming Dexter last night....it was brilliant! I gave it a 9/10 (I'm holding out for the perfect book to give the 10/10 to for some reason ) Going to read The Empty Chair by Deaver next and alternate between the Dexter Series and the Lincoln Rhymes series. I hope you get your mojo back Frankie!
  24. Hey Bookworm44! I've heard lots of good things about this book so I think I'll have to add it to my wish list From what I've heard, it sounds similar (ish) to the book of lost things which has a few fairytales tied up in it.
  25. I'm looking forward to seeing Bright Star, Harry Potter and New Moon
