  4. I'm so so so looking forward to this! I picked up my tickets last week......
  5. Yeah I saw it too. I totally agree with you about the lack of Amanda and Mark moments.....lets hope it goes back to normal pretty sharpish eh! And now she has her own apartment we might see less of Justin who I also adore. The new office isn't great is it....did you see the clip of next weeks show? Looks to be pretty funny
  6. Hey Tim! Welcome to the forum!
  7. I'd highly recommend it Heather
  8. Well.....I've finished two books since updating this thread last. The first one is John Ajvide Lindqvist's Let The Right One In about a young boy called Oskar who befriends Eli, a strange quiet girl who is also a vampire which is unknown to Oskar. The stereotype of a vampire, surrounded by beauty and wealth didn't exist in this novel which was set in a quite a bleak, deprived Swedish suburb. It was quite a strange book and I still don't know what to make of it. Overall, I enjoyed it and the positives outweigh the negatives. I liked the ending and really liked Oskar's story. However, the lack of vibrancy or optomism made it a difficult read for me as it wasn't a happy tale. I'm glad I read it though and it was a change from my usual book of choice. 9/10 The second book was The Blue Nowhere by Jeffrey Deaver. As usual, Deaver has written another fantastic novel which keeps you on your toes while also being slightly educational. The serial killer on the loose is a computer wizard who has created a new bug which can enter anyones computer at any time, take their identity, money and deepest darkest secrets without the person knowing. He then uses this information along with access to government systems to gain the victims trust before killing them. It was such a good insight into the world of the Hacker and makes you think twice about what you put out there on the world wide web. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader interested and even though you think you know who did it, the last few chapters change all of that. 9/10
  9. I'm glad you enjoyed it Heather! It's a fantastic book I've just finished The Blue Nowhere and WOW! I'm impressing my BF with all this new found knowledge of hacker terminology. Haa! It was so clever and actually quite frightening to know that people could be capable of finding out so much information about you without you knowing. Thanks for sending it to me Charm! I'll have to forward it on to Lexie ASAP
  10. Well, I've just been a computer hacker helping to solve a series of crimes whereby the killer hacks into his victim's computer, learns all there is to know about them in order to win their trust before murdering them. Not sure who I'll be next.
  11. Last night my BF made me homemade soup as I've got a cold. He added carrot, potato, leek, brocolli and something else that I can't remember but it was really nice
  12. Hey Frankie!!

I've been busy too! The weather's been fantastic here so I've been out and about. I've also just finished The Blue Nowhere by Deaver.....I couldn't pull myself away from it! Have you read this one? It was really fantastic!

Sounds like you've got a busy few days ahead of you! It seems like so much fun...I'm green with envy! :D We're at Alton Towers this weekend which is a theme park about 3 hours from where I live (It's on my list of places to visit this summer so it's all good!) It's my friend's birthday so all the girls are heading there for a day of fun and taking the boys along too. Some people are camping but we're driving down early as I'm not really a camping type of girl. Did it a few years ago and I just spent the whole time being cold and hungry......the toilet issue is also a pain! Ooooh I'm off to London on the 16th July!!!! We've got two nights in the capital so I'm going to buy a tour guide and make a list of things we want to see. Eeeeek! :D

  13. Peep Show is soooooo good isn't it! Have you seen the episode where Jeremy becomes the housekeeper/plaything for that musican man  Can't remember his name.....something like the orbatron (?)

Are you reading anything at the moment? Or has everything been put on hold during the midsummer celebrations? They sound like a hoot.....wish we did something to celebrate summer.

  14. I'm jealous Lucybird
  15. This is my favourite Deaver book so far Heather You'll never guess the ending! Hope you enjoy it!
  16. I'm a computer hacker/murderer on the search for my next victim
  17. I'm not sure if I've already posted on this thread but this film is worth a second mention anyway. The History of Violence is probably the worst movie I've ever seen. Nothing happens! Not good! (Hope I'm not criticising someone's favourite movie here! eeeek!)
  18. Haaa! What you like!!
  19. Friends came over last night and it was really hard to stick to the diet.....is socialising a hard part of healthy living for you too? Everyone was drinking cocktails and eating nibbles while I practically tied myself to a chair to resist temptation. Not fun! When/If I lose a stone I'm going to make a huge apple crumble with lashings of custard and I'm going to eat the whole thing!! haa!! I'll post photos of me covered in crumble on my profile!

Well apart from the temperamental weather in England, I personally can't see why people would need to travel abroad. Maybe to see totally different cultures like the far-east etc. But there's quite a lot to do and it's good for our economy for people to spend in this country. However, as I type this, the rain is thrashing against the windows and a week on the beach sounds amazing! There must be pretty cool places in Finland too....everywhere has something unique that appeals to visitors :D

  20. Hey Frankie! I love your new avatar!! Have you been watching Peep Show? :D

I'm posting on the sly at work while no one's here! haa!

Midsummer sounds cool....especially the secondhand book shops. There's just something about those places isn't there. As far as I'm aware we don't have much celebration in the way of midsummer....well i've never noticed it anyway which is a shame.

I hope you prove me wrong with LTROI as I really want it to be good. Maybe I just missed something. You'll have to read it to see what you think. Roxi started to read it not long ago too!

  21. It's so nice isn't it!! I think it was Frankie who gave me the tip
  22. Hey Frankie! I'm grand....just been doing the whole work/food shopping/tidying thing today. Boring but it's got to be done eh! How about you?

The book was like Lestat. The ending is really good but it's an uphill struggle to get there. It's really good and bad too! You don't get this with Jeffrey do you! I'm really interested in seeing the film though to see what all this hype is about. It's been so long since I've read chick-lit. Must be a nice change from serial killers, murders and skullduggery (sounds menacing!) :D

I'm sure your getting into shape will pick up again. The most important thing is not to give up after a couple of slips. It's such hard work so you're allowed to get disheartened from time to time. Weightwatchers is going ok but I'm about to crack! eeeeek! But I've lost 5 and a half pound so far so I'll keep going.....boooo hisssss!

Whitby is lovely.....which is another reason you should move to England for your studies! :D:D:D

  23. Thanks! I'll add it to the list but I might bump it up a few notchs as it sounds like my kind of thing
  24. Hey Inver! I've just joined Weightwatchers and I'm finding the points diet quite easy to follow. I'm allowed 20 points per day and I've lost 5 and a half pounds in the past 2 weeks just by making small changes. My main weaknesses are desserts. Things I've been eating: Strawberries are really really good as you can have quite a few of them for very few points. You get around 10 for half a point so I've been adding them to weetabix, yoghurt, etc. Weightwatchers Fromage Frais is really thick and fruity (and only
  25. Hey BookJumper! This sounds quite interesting. Which book are you reading?
