  1. I saw this a few years ago and didn't get it either Apparently it's about how different people behave when faced with the same experience. I think that means that the blonde girl was nice and friendly to the brunette girl when she was the outsider, however the brunette wasn't quite as nice to the blonde girl when the tables are turned. (I could of course be completely wrong!!) It's been so long since I watched it but I remember thinking at the time that it was the weirdest movie I'd ever seen! And I'm a fan of the unusual I watched Big Fish last night and cried at the end. I think I'm getting really soft in my old age
  2. You're definitelt addicted! What will you do when it's all over?? :10_confused: I think we'll have to find you a Joe McElderry withdrawal phone in centre!

Yeah I'm pretty much all sorted for Christmas. Just need to buy Ross big bar of chocolate and that's it! :D How about you?

Oooooh think.....just one more essay and you can chill! What's it about? Will it be something you'll enjoy? (if there is such a thing as enjoying coursework )

My last essay was a 500 word summary of Strategic Environmental Assessments and I thought it would be plain sailing but my god! It was the worst essay of the semester. Those SEAs are sooooooooo dull! The woman who set the essay did her doctorate in studying them.....Horrible! She showed us the SEA for one development site in Newcastle and it was about 6 inches thick and full of jargon :lurker:

  3. I've been meaning to buy this for AGES!!! About 10 years ago I was addicted to the BBC adaptation starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Steerpike and other well know actors such as June Brown, Stephen Fry, Zoe Wanamaker, Christopher Lee, Richard Griffiths......too many to list I'm adding these to my 2010 'to buy' list
  4. It was nail biting stuff! I thought Cheryl wasn't going to make it through the night! haa! I really want Joe to win too....he's got the best voice without a doubt! Ah did you see his Grandma crying? And bless Cheryl just slotting in to his little family.......:)

I think I'll up my votes to 4 tomorrow  Talk about pushing the boat out!

  5. Ooooooh I've not read that one but I've just finished The Six Wifes of Henry VIII which was fantastic!
  6. Welcome to the forum Artmax
  7. That's amazing!! I always associate my one and only girls beach holiday with Harry Potter 7. I started it at the beginning of the week and on the last day I was so engrossed by the ending and everything coming together that I forgot to 'turn' every hour and ended up with a sunburned bum! It was a pretty uncomfortable journey back home! Also, on the night that very book came out, no one would come into town with me so I thought I'd get up really early the next morning and rush out to buy it. Anyway, I woke up at 6 that morning to find a copy of it posted through my letterbox with a note from my Sister who had qued for an hour at Borders, then drove all the way over to my house at 2 in the morning with it. The sweetest part is that she doesn't really read so it wasn't like she was buying herself a copy and got me one while she was there....she went purely to make me a happy bunny. It's one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me
  8. Hello Mrs!

Hope your work is going ok! Not long now until Christmas starts eh :D

Thought I'd just drop you a quick message to say that I've just read an article in the Evening Chronicle about a man posing as a black cab driver who is picking up girls from town and you can probably guess the rest. Evil :censored: One girl lives along the road from me and is only 17! Poor thing!

Anyway I thought I'd give you a heads up to be careful if you're out and about over Christmas. I always pre-book a taxi if I'm on my own and Ross can't get me but loads of my firends get black cabs after a night out.....it's scary:motz:

    On a lighter note.....GO JOE!!!!!!!!!! :D

  9. Oooooh my secret santa gift came today It's under my tree as we speak and there it shall stay until Christmas morning! Thanks Santa xxx I also received chocolate coins which I love love love! Can't promise that they'll stay there until Christmas morning mind you......I'll try my best though
  10. I take it you're happy? It's hard to tell! haaa!
  11. I distinctly see a blonde-haired vampire on that there cover Miss Stephanie!!:mrgreen:
  12. I'm still plodding along with Memnoch the Devil by Anne Rice. I've been so busy with uni work that I haven't really had a lot of time to dedicate to it. However, since the last essay of the year has been finished (woooooooo!) I'm hoping to get it finished as soon as posible! From what I can gather, it's all about the relationship between heaven, hell and the human soul. Lestat is trying to figure out where he fits into the grand scheme of life as he is confused as to whether he has a soul or not.
  13. I think Jim is on a total rebound with Karen. I really don't like her......she's just in the way!! And the crisps thing....I could have strangled Jim. He's such a flirt!

I love it how Michael and Dwight think that they changed managements mind about closing Scranton Branch by standing outside of the big boss's house!

Oh and the coffee bit I love is the part where Dwight saves Stanley from the coffee! How ingenius is that script. Dwight is so dramatic! Have you seen the one where Dwight forms an 'alliance' with Jim? That's another favourite episode of mine. It has to be THE best comedy of the past few years.

On another note, I've just finished my last essay of the year! Whooooop! Here I come Christmas! :D:mrgreen::D

  14. I used Google Translator! The United States!!

I know what you mean about Tim. I used to really like him but compared to Jim he's pretty bland eh! His tricks are amazing! They Gaydar thing is brilliant! Have you seen the episode where he's replaced Dwight's desk and chair with wrapped boxes and put's his really desk in the toilets? Haa! It's so great. Have you also seen the episode with the George Foreman grill? That's another favourite of mine :D It's just soooooo good!

As for the woman in the other office, Karen, I'm not a fan at all. My BF kept saying "oh, she's ok. Why don't you like her?" She's just not Pam! It's as simple as that. I'm sure she's lovely but she can be lovely with someone who isn't Jim  I'm going to have to re-watch that episode now :D

Hope you're enjoying your Independance Day fun!

  15. I think once you get past The Vampire Lestat you'll be flying. I found it a pretty tough read Ah but he's great! Have you seen Queen of the Damned with Stuart Townsend playing Lestat? The movie gives you a good overview of Lestat and Queen of the Damned......although you know how movies just aren't as good at telling the entire tale and a few things are changed, like the movie has Marius turning Lestat into a vampire when it was some scary man called Magnus. Things like that, but it's worth a look if you haven't yet seen it
  16. I'm going to have breakfast and read a few pages of Memnoch the Devil until noon (ish) before writing up an essay summary.
  17. Haaaa! Ross and his obsession with wallpaper! haa!

I love Jim's faces....they're amazing! Especially the one after Andy and the jello incident

Dwight is crazy isn't he!! Jim plays some pretty funny tricks on him from the new office. When you see the coffee one (I haven't given anything away :D) let me know.....it's possibly one of my favourite ever office scenes!

I'm so envious that you have all the episodes to come! I'd love to see them for the first time all over again :D Did you ever see the UK Office? They only did 2 seasons. They said that they didn't want to ruin a good thing and decided to go out on a high but then it went to America and it's now on Season 5? 6? I think it's mainly down to Steve Carrell though.....the British office manager was a one trick pony, so to speak, but it's still a great show. If you haven't seen it you really should :D

  18. I went out last night to celebrate the end of two stressful weeks so I'm feeling a little worse for wear this morning. :drama: I distinctly remember drinking Crazy Frog cocktails which contain a random bunch of spirits and alchopops to make it green......not good! *heave* Yack!

Have a good day Miss Frankie and 'Hyv

  19. Oh!! My!!! Goodness!! That episode is genius! Apparently it wasn't even scripted....Steve Carrell just went with it. How fantastic is that! It makes your toes curl doesn't it

Did you see the mugshot of Pam's ex-BF when he got arrested for drunk driving? Ah.....it's amazing! Ross has managed to get his hands on the new series and it just gets better. You'll not be disappointed! I was so surprised that Jim moved to another office, especially since Pam became single. But I love Andy Bernard....he's a really good character. Has he had his tantrum yet?

  20. I might have to take your Slaughter advice Miss Frankie! I've heard a few people rave about her and if you're a fan she must be good! Ah......I'm hopelessly addicted to Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. The Vampire Lestat was hard work and I really had to make an effort to get to the end but I think she had to delve into the history of the vampire so she could lay foundations for the rest of the series. The Queen Of The Damned, although it has an element of history to it, is amazing! It takes you back to the very start of the vampire which is really interesting and it dips in and out of what's going on with Lestat. I've just finished Tale of the Body Thief and it was brilliant (Probably the best so far!) It's the tale of a spirit who takes possession of bodies and it has it's heart set on Lestat's. Lestat, who wants to know what it's like to be mortal again, strikes up a deal to swap bodies for 36 hours but of course the Body Thief disappears. The other vampires turn their backs on Lestat so he enlists the help of his only true friend, David Talbot (who makes an appearance in Queen of the Damned) and they embark on an adventure in search of the thief. Memnoch the Devil is next and basically, Lestat get's abducted by the devil (as only Lestat could!!) He's taken on a tour of Heaven and Hell and apparently the book looks at the relationship between God and the Devil. I just love how Lestat narrates.....the dialogue melts off the page. And you really start to fall in love with him as the series moves on. He's a monster but also an outsider who wants to be on the inside and to be loved. Bless him! I've been lazy too! There's just so much going on at this time of year isn't there Also....has your Big Brother finished yet?
  21. I haven't read either of these books although the Da Vinci Code is on my TBR list....may have to bump it down a few places eh
  22. Potato waffles are the ones I have most regularly but I also love sweet waffles with banana and icecream. Wetherspoon's sells them for about
