  1. :welcome2:Hey Leanne!
  2. I'll probably check it out but don't really watch a lot of TV. Plus I haven't always been a fan of R & J's book choices.....Memory Keepers Daughter was the last one and I think I gave it a 4/10.
  3. My BF is listening to Flight of the Conchords
  4. I know! I couldn't either I thought he'd have more taste I hope you manage to get your hands on Angel Time I try to avoid buying things online if I can, plus I love bookshops so I usually always buy books in person if I can.
  5. Vegetable curry with loads of broccoli thrown on the side. (Can you tell I love my greens )

    Hi There

    :welcome2:Hey Cookie!
  7. I've noticed that I tend to read more books that belong to a series than any other recently. My Favourite series are: Vampire Chronicles - Anne Rice (currently reading these) Southern Vampire Mysteries - Charliane Harris (waiting for the next book which is taking far too long) Twilight - Stephanie Meyer (like everyone else, I caught the bug ) Harry Potter - JK Rowling (I must have read this series about 9 times) The Lincoln Rhyme Series - Jeffrey Deaver (still making my way through this series. Got stuck in the middle of The Stone Monkey a few months ago but haven't picked it up again. Will improve efforts in 2010!) The Tudor Series - Phillippa Gregory (making my way through these at the moment. They're great ) The Inheritance Cycle - Christopher Paolini (waiting for the last book to be published but there isn't a date yet ) I also tend to get obsessed with the odd author and make it my goal to read everything that they've ever written
  8. Welcome to the forum Shabby!
  9. That does seem a bit pricey! I've just had a quick look on Amazon and it's
  10. Say it aint so - Weezer
  11. I quite fancy reading this book too when it's published So far I've only delved into The Vampire Chronicles so it'll be interesting to see how I rate her other work. I was considering the Witching Hour books but I'm not too sure now. What was it that you disliked in particular about them? I'm still halfway through The Vampire Armand due to assignments and an upcoming exam but I can't wait to start reading it again. I too love how she opens up these worlds which make you feel like you've been there. Armand and Marius are currently in 16th Century Venice which I don't know too much about but the way she describes architecture, furnishings and attitudes makes the place seem familiar.
  12. How spiteful! Some people are crazy. I don't regret leaving the world of retail I used to work in House of Fraser on the china dept so we'd often get affluent, intelligent shoppers paying a fortune for plates but when a fire alarm went off, they'd ask you if they could just finish paying and have their goods wrapped so they didn't have to hang around! I was like "you can wait here to see if the fire's real but I'm off!". Crazy. It's like all intelligence and rationality leaves them once they cross the stores threshold
  13. Alex Reid is growing on me too I also LOVE Stephanie! "We're sleeping on acrylic!" She's so glamorous! Sisquo reminds me of my friend Nick who is also about 5 foot 5 ish and has unlimited energy. He's constantly on the move like a little tornando! Heidi looks drunk!
  14. I was going to recommend this. It's been on my TBR list for quite some time
  15. Text books can be such an expense. One book on our reading list was
  16. Hmmmmm....... We watched another 2 episodes today and I'm hooked! Can't believe I've avoided this show in the past. This made me laugh and sounds very familiar to what goes on in my living room. I'm settling down to watch CBB (I'm not going to get hooked either charm )
  17. Count me in! The Child Thief sounds like my kind of book so I'll head into Waterstone's asap I also agree with Bookjumper in that they have something very Neil Gaiman about them. I love Mr Gaiman so hopefully these will be just as good Thanks Kell! Edit: The strangest thing has just happened! I thought I'd check out The Child Thief on Amazon before popping to Waterstones and the books have just popped up on the home page.....how bizarre! It's like the world wide web also wants me to have these books
  18. Me too I'm also hoping that the last book in Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle will be published this year although I think that's a bit of wishful thinking as there's no date for it yet You never know!

What a shame about New Year! Hope you're feeling better now?

Where to start with these questions?? Nicola....This Is Your Life! Haa!! Well, I lost my Step-dad in April so I stayed with my Mam for a few days over Christmas and then went down to Ross' parents for what was supposed to be a few days but got snowed in! I didn't get back to Newcastle until 2nd Jan and missed New Year with the girls :irked: Things in general are canny. I've got a bit of uni work on at the moment (a poster for a planning event, planning theory assignment, planning partnerships assignment and a development control exam) but it's going well and I'm getting stuck into my dissertation. Can't believe I graduate in a matter of months though....scary!! :eek2:

How's you? Apart from the stomach bug, how was your festive season? Have you been up to much? And while the theme is questions, how's everything at work?

    Hope you're grand :D

  24. Same here. I think I'd like them all in hardback eventually Cool! I was pretty unsuccessful at spacing them out myself but wish I had done. Hope you enjoy them The 1st chapter of Dead in the Family was good! Roll on May (why must we wait so long!!)
