Isn't that just typical!! I'm sure I heard a rumour of a website where you can swap books. I may have dreamt it up of course but if not, getting rid of one (or two!) copies in exchange for a book you'd quite like could be pretty cool I had to keep going back to the front to find out where each story slots into the series. And I thought that books 5-8 merged into one so when Harris said "this takes place after Altogether Dead" I was left wondering which story that actually was I'm glad I'm not the only one who's all about death and vampires at the moment

Neil Gaiman's dedication in Anansi Boys reads: Dedication You know how it is. You pick up a book, flip to the dedication, and find that, once again, the author has dedicated a book to someone else and not to you. Not This Time. Because we haven't yet met/have only a glancing acquaintance/are just crazy about each other/haven't seen each other in much too long/are in some way related/will never meet, but will, I trust, despite that, always think fondly of each other... This one's for you. With you know what, and you probably know why.

Now that you mention it I suppose it is!! After two more vampire stories, I have a few books about Tudor England to read, Bitten by Kelley Armstrong to finish and Chuck Palaniuk's Snuff to start (just to prove I'm not completely morbid ish!)

I suppose we can be thankful that they put two stories into the one book.....I don't feel quite so ripped off that way! I heard book 5 was out soon too (if it isn't out already ) You were totally right about the Damon parts being the best bits. If it weren't for his cheeky, witty and slightly scary banter I would probably give up Definitely Team Damon!

I thought that was pretty scary too! I also remember there being a scary scene in House On The Haunted Hill (the modern version) where a woman is filming an empty room through her camcorder. The room is empty until she looks through the lens and see's one of the asylum's patients being operated on alive by the lunatic doctors. Then they all look up and see her.......eeeeeeek!

As a Geordie, I have to say Bobby Robson, Alan Shearer, Peter Beardsley, Super Mac and Jackie Milburn (in any order)

Me too. It's how I relax and completely zone out from deadlines, work, worries about one thing or another and everything that's going on around me. That's why I hate it when I'm reading and people try to talk to me....I'm like "????!!!!!"

We're making our way through the Bourne Trilogy

No idea I finished LJ Smith's The Struggle and while the lead character is totally and utterly annoying, I need to know what happens in the rest of the series so will be in the que at HMV tomorrow purchasing the next book and saying goodbye to my hard earned money

The Vampire Armand - Anne Rice I enjoyed the story the book had to tell but I thought that Anne Rice's descriptive detailing in this book overshadowed the plot and made it a challenging read at times. I put it down 3 or even 4 times but my new year resolution to finish the Vampire Chronicles made me pick it up again. I'm glad I did as we follow Armand through 16th Century Venice which was an interesting read. Also, Armand has never been one of my favourite characters in the Chronicles but I've grown a little soft spot for him since reading about his past and his demons. Overall, because of the story I'm giving it 4/5. If it was based on writing alone I'd probably give it 3/5 as I don't think it's anywhere as good as previous novels.

Yeah I bought it from HMV as my BF bought the other Season 1&2 so it was my turn It's brilliant. I hope they carry on after the death of Henry VIII to show Edward, Mary and Elizabeth on the throne too

Hey Astraeus! Unfortunately I have no recommendations but welcome to the BCF!! -
I always read the dedications too although I can't think of any off the top of my head. I'll have to investigate. Those Tad Williams dedications are great

How did we ever think this sounded like a book we wanted to read!!?? Saying that, we also wore those awful t-shirts that changed colour with our body heat....we were clearly deranged
-
Oh I remember they all had those little captions at the bottom which were aimed to scare us! The Funhouse.....You can die laughing! The Babysitter.....Every step she takes, he'll be watching. The Beach Party....Some come to party, some come to die. So dramatic!!

I remember they were always checked out of the school library so I had to venture down to the local library to get them. I wonder how many books in total were published under Point Horror as RL Stein seemed to have written about 20 on his own!
