  1. Well done to everyone who has lost weight Ok, I have been carb cycling and mixing cardio with weights for the past 5 weeks now. I have lost 9 inches all over:hyper:! I ordered Hannah Watermans dvd last week which turned up today. A girl in work has it and raves about it all the time. It's hard work, but she has seen results.
  2. Have you seen the new cover for the book? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wuthering-Heights-Emily-Bronte/dp/0007326742/ref=tag_dpp_lp_edpp_ttl_in_f They have tried to get teenagers to read it and some are interested as it's mentioned in Twilight. Some people are not happy though
  3. I have three. One of the top of my leg. It's a heart with my ex boyfriends name though it. Had that coloured it and got my husbands name put on top of the heart. We are no longer together:lol: A Betty Boop tat above my right boob and three Celtic hearts at the bottom of my back. I want a Marilyn Monroe tat next.
  4. I've seen the second series already, but my bf hasn't. He liked it as he knows it will be better than the first series. I lurve Eric

  6. I ordered some books today. The five people you meet in heaven - Mitch Albom The girl next door - Jack Ketchum Got it on ebay in the end as Amazon and Play.com were asking stupid prices:roll: Living dead girl - Elizabeth Scott
  7. Ok, I'm home, fed and watered First off, what I did change about my diet was I made myself eat a breakfast every morning. I never used to and that was stopping my metabolism kicking in and by mid-morning I was starving. Now I will have either porridge, Wholemeal toast with peanut butter or poached egg on toast. Mid morning snack will be a handful of raw nuts. You can get these in any supermarket and they contain brazil nuts, cashews, almonds etc.. also have a piece of fruit. Lunch will be carbs, so a sandwich with a healthy filling, jacket potato with a healthy filling or a pasta dish. Another small snack in the afternoon- raw nuts again, piece of fruit and a baby bel cheese. Try and have protein for dinner. Chicken is good with a huge salad (no fatty dressings though ) fish, sirloin steak or extra lean mince beef. You shouldn't feel hungry at all during the day. Foods to buy are: Extra lean mince beef Sirloin steak Tins of tuna Prawns Haddock Venison Minced Lamb Egg Whites Turkey mince Eggs Tuna Steaks Salmon Porridge Oats Rye Bread Wholemeal bread Brown rice/pasta Nuts Extra virgin olive oil Veg Garlic Strawberries Butternut squash Onions Peppers Mushrooms Cherries Blackberries Raspberries Kiwis Dates Bananas Apples Cabbage Spinach Lettuce Tomatoes Tinned Tomatoes Grapes Butter Milk Feta Cheese Cheddar Babybel light Balsamic vinegar Honey Try not to eat carbs after 3pm and see how you go. Eating the carbs in the evening isn't can turn to fat as we all tend to relax and it won't burn off. Keep a food diary and write down everything you eat. See how you feel at the end of the day. If you feel sluggish or bloated, cut bread, rice or pasta out of your diet and see how you feel the next day. Drink plenty of water. If you drink you may need to cut this out or reduce your intake to 1 or 2 small glasses of wine a week! The best way to drop body fat is to diet. Try not to reduce your calorie in take by too much as your body will go into starvation mode and cling onto what you have to keep you healthy. You will notice you are not losing weight. Don't think because you workout you can eat what you want as this won't work. Workout 4-5 times a week. Do weights on consecutive days as your body shapes and tones while you rest the muscles. So, a typical week will look like this; Monday - Cardio Tuesday - Weights Wednesday - Cardio Thursday - Weights Friday - Cardio Saturday - Rest Sunday - Rest Swap these days around and have a rest day during the week if it suits you! Squats and lunges are fantastic for getting great shape on your legs and bum. They hurt, but are very effective. Add weight whilst do them to make them more intense. Do 3 sets of 12. You should be struggling on the 12th rep. Once you can do the reps easily, up your weight and so on. If you workout at home you can use a gym ball and dumbells. 3x 12reps of the following Chest Press - lie on the ball Bent over row with dumbbells - This will exercise your back Shoulder press - Sit on your ball or you can stand up Bicep curl Lying tricep extension Back extension - on ball This is great for your abs It will work your core which will give you strong abs. Make sure you keep the stomach contracted even when you breathe out. Plank and side plank http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I990Wbr1JE This will work your waist and core. I started these off on 10 seconds and worked the time up from there. You will see that you don't need to do many of these. This is because they are very intense and very effective. You will feels these in your abs and waist the next day Keep a diary of all your workouts to monitor how you are doing. Try not to overeat at the weekends and this will undo all your hard work. If this is all new to you, spend the next four to five weeks getting your diet right. A good diet is the most important part of this. Measure yourself first thing in the morning. The muscles are cold then so you'll get a good reading. Measure the following; Right thigh at largest part Left thigh at largest part Chest at your nipple line Hips at your hip bone level Waist at belly button level. Measure again after 4 weeks and note it all down. If you can or want to, take a picture of yourself in a bikini or underwear and take another picture 4 weeks later and see if you can spot any changes. If you are pear shaped and all you do is cardio, you will slim down and be smaller, but your body will still be bigger on the legs, bum and thighs. Resistance training will reshape you and tighten everything up! It's going to be hard work, but it will be worth it. Just keep thinking of how you want to look in that bikini in the summer. Well done if you got this far! Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to help.
  8. Same thing happens to me Cookie! I will come back to this thread when I get home from work and give you a list of stuff I eat now which has helped.
  9. They all make me laugh! Alan is so camp:lol: I didn't realise he was out of Pretty in Pink
  10. If you have Sky, it's on Comedy Ctrl+ at 10pm I love this show, it's so stupid
  11. The Final Destination - It was dire! Up - I enjoyed it, but it's been really hyped.
  12. I really hate not finishing a book I've given up a few before, most recently I gave up on The Little Stranger. I just felt like I was getting nowhere with it and it just wasn't holding my attention. I know others really enjoyed it, but I hated it I've also had Breaking Dawn sitting on my shelf half read for the past year. I will finish it though as it's part of a saga. It just got a bit stupid for me in the end and Bella drives me up the wall
  13. Take me Out:mrgreen: Watching Up and Milk later!
  14. I'll join in with this if that's ok? I used to have a terrible body complex even though I was slim. I ended up taking slimming tablets three years ago and got down to just under 7 stone. I looked awful. Once I came off the pills, my metabolism was in a bad way. It had slowed down to a snails pace so everything I ate would not burn off. I've done the slim fast, cutting certain foods out and nothing worked. It did for a while, but then I'd fall off the wagon and gain all the weight back. I am 5'6. One thing I will say is don't weight yourself, go by your measurements. It had to be a way of life to be honest. Would you rather be 140lb and a size 8-10 (uk size) or 140lb and a size 12-14? That what I was told to ask myself and I knew which I wanted to be Wine is my biggest downfall, so I only have 1 -2 small glasses a week now. I used to carry all my weight on my legs, bum and waist - this was down to drinking a lot of wine. The first thing I had to sort out was my diet as that is 80-90% towards getting everything right. I don't eat carbs after 3pm now, so I'll have a carb lunch and a protein dinner. If any of you would like a list of foods to eat, I am happy to post them up for you! Cardio is good for losing weight, but it will just make you smaller with no shape. Weights are the way to go to burn fat quickly and reshape your body. Squats and lunges and a great fat burner. You use 256 muscles to do squats and lunges and this will also workout your upperbody. Once the glutes start getting stronger, your metabolism will speed up greatly which will mean you will burn calories even when you are doing nothing. Throw away the slim fast and don't bother with the cereal diets as they will not work for you long term. You will end up putting the weight back on and sometimes more. Classic yo yo dieting.
