  1. You've been bottling that one up for a while, haven't you?! I'm sure I can think of something, I'll be back!
  2. I won't subject everyone to another tirade (I can hear Kylie's sigh of relief from here!) just click on the link in my post above if you want to know more!

    Merlin

Merlin to return to BBC One for fourth series - good to hear, given the competition it's up against. Disappointing that the run has been trimmed by three episodes though.
  4. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (it's rubbish!) Otherwise, an interesting list!

    Hello :)

^ That, and it's much more fun being a kid! Welcome!
  6. ^ That's the one. The Wil Wheaton episodes are very good as well, and the good news is he is due to return in season four.
  7. As the series go on the writers have got a better handle on the characters and the show gets funnier because of it. I think my favourite episode is one where they show how Leonard met Sheldon, but that's at the arse end of series three so you have a bit of a way to go! All the nerd stuff doesn’t hurt, either!
  8. Good stuff! (and it gets better with each passing series!).

    Happy Birthday!

  10. I'd be interested to see this, but Saturday nights are not a good viewing time for me as I'm usually down the pub! I'll await the inevitable DVD box set!
  11. Ah, but that's only the second time it's been out of the box in 25 years (and it was pretty cool in the cinema). I understand the points made about Star Wars above, but I'd personally prefer Lucas to go and lock himself in a dark room for the rest of time than have to sit through another prequel. If they ever release properly remastered original versions of the original trilogy on DVD or Blu Ray I'll be there like a shot, but for now, Lucas has had all the money he's going to get out of me.
  12. The First Men in the Moon adapted by and staring Mark Gatiss and featuring Rory Kinnear is on BBC Four tonight at 9pm. I'm surprised this hasn't had more publicity (I hope that doesn't mean it's another Day of the Triffids . . .). Annoyingly, it's up against the season finale of Smallville . . .
  13. The very last three epiosdes of Angel (on DVD). (Is it wrong to find Illyria more attractive than Fred?)
  14. Good job, really! (unless they are tiny and wee . . .).

    Merlin

Yes, it's been bloomin' good so far this year, I just hope the falling viewing figures (as it is up against the X Factor) don't bring it to an undeserved end.
  16. I only got to watch it tonight, as it transpires. I thought the first episode was good, if a little understated. I never saw the original so I've nothing to compare it to, but I do have a good idea of the basic premise. I'll just have to see where it goes from here.
  17. ^ That, or he just hates pictures!
  18. What? Where?!! I thought this was a forum for making gingerbread men!
  19. No! Well, to be honest, most of them have been quite good. I've already bitched enough about Black Sun Rising; Juliet, Naked was okay, but not great and The Man in the High Castle - which I've just finished - was a little disappointing (I don't think I really like Dick*). On the plus side I did enjoy Wild Sheep Chase, as well as The Gum Thief, but my two novels of the year so far would have to be One Day and The Death of Grass. *You can stop that sniggering now.
  20. Finished The Man in the High Castle, by Philip K. Dick (not what I was expecting. Interesting in places, with some good ideas, but mostly bland at the same time). Next up, Call for the Dead, the first Smiley novel by John le Carré.
  21. Well, I've finally limped over the line of 12 books, so no matter what happens between now and the end of the year I've at least made it to the "one book a month" mark this year. Disappointed that it's not the 24 book mark. I'm no Chesilbeach . . .
  22. Weave, is your new one the house from Totoro?
  23. Mainly the original series. I have a number of Next Generation stories and a few Deep Space Nine, but no Voyager or Enterprise (I'd pretty much stopped reading Trek by the time they came out - I was too busy writing my own!).
  24. The new series of V on Channel One at Ten.
