  1. A friend of mine was at the wrap party for the film last weekend. Emma Watson has new hair, apparently.
  2. Hello! Was the bulb in a reading lamp, per-chance?
  3. If somebody finds my reading mojo, could they please let me have it back? (It's small and blue and answers to the name Fang ).
  4. I'm more than tempted to give the new Carte D'Or Rum and Raisin a try.
  5. If it's a good quality hamburger - and not some Iceland-meal-deal-pound-busting-wallet-saver-meat-disc-Frisbee - it's not going to be all that different from beef chow mien, surely? Potato in the right type of curry can be very good though - I quite like Aloo Saag, a spinach and potato starter/side. I once had a posh ready meal that had wild rice in it, and it was like eating a bowl of gravel. Gave up half-way through and made some toast! I used to be a fairly fussy eater when I was a kid, but I'll eat pretty much anything now (that comes from living in halls for a year at Uni!).
  6. Good luck for your race! (Remember it's not the taking part that counts, it's the winning!).

  7. Bathroom Lights, by Philip Pullman Romford Fields, by Martin Amis Name of the Daisy, by Umberto Eco Captain Corelli's Banjo, by Louis de Bernières
  8. I started reading The Reality Dysfunction, by Peter F. Hamilton last night and after only 16 pages I'm considering throwing in the towel. The book is 1220 pages long, and is the first book in a trilogy, but it's not the length that is putting me off, it's the sheer delugde of techno-babble in the first chapter!
  9. Chocolate Hobbits?!
  10. If there is a big dog, I'll have a guess . . .
  11. I'm guessing they were referring to the code part of the story (though in this case it was a book code rather than letter substitution).
  12. I've think you may have misinterpreted what I posted, I was saying that The Blind Banker was based on The Dancing Men!
  13. A glass of Lindeman's Bin 50 Shiraz (2009), and very nice it is too!
  14. Well, for one more week, anyway!
  15. Bacon and Brie is nice.
  16. Ah, I had the right idea, I just didn't move the characters far enough!
  17. I've still got to write a review of that from when I read it earlier in the year.
  18. For those who are interested, Moffat has tweeted that this weeks episode was based on The Dancing Men. A new game to play whilst watching - spot the Doctor Who location! (There were at least three in this weeks episode).
  19. It's not good that they keep moving programs like this, but to be fair they did say it would be on at 8.30pm at the end of last weeks episode. (If it helps, it's worth waiting for!).
  20. You have my commiserations! In recent years I've maintained that I don't have a favourite Doctor; that they are all good in their own different ways, but Matt Smith is testing that theory he's just a joy to watch. I'm watching The Secrets of World War II on Yesterday, I've heard most of it before, not so secret really!
  21. Your fairy is called Fidget Goblinfilter She is a bringer of riches and wealth. She lives in rotting woodlands near poisonous toadstools. She is only seen on midsummer's eve. She wears red with white spots, like the toadstools. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly. Sounds like a right basket-case if you ask me . . .
  22. ^ Do you like fruit machines as well?!
  23. You haven't missed much. I quite like Cloverfield, but then I'm a fan of 50's B-movies, and I thought it was a pretty good update. The start is too slow, but after that it picks up. I think it's actually better to watch on the small screen, so it feels more like the home movie it was intended to be (and the camera shaking doesn't get to you so much!).
  24. Dream Away, by George Harrison - a download from Amazon's MP3 store. I've been looking for this for years, it's the music they play over the end credits of Time Bandits - happy days!
  25. I think Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett may have a bit of cross-gender romance, it's been a while since I read it though, and I'm struggling to remember if the lead ended up with someone - anyone?
