  1. Ooh thanks for this chesilbeach! Excellent news! Something to look forward to at least
  2. I have a lot of series books so they are all stored in chronological order whether or not I've read them all, along with books by the same author. I have a shelf for other books to be read and all my hardback books are on the bottom. Other than that any other books I've read are stored by size and depth . There's nothing nicer than seeing a row of books all by the same author with the matching covers!
  3. Hey catwoman to the forum. I'm sure you'll settle in well
  4. I voted read it and loved it. I did love it, but I hate that I loved it Ignorance was bliss ....
  5. Ah but does .... well, I hope!
  6. I try to keep all my books, I only lend out books to people who I know will look after them and I'm sure I'll get them back in good order. I only give them away if I'm sure the person will really like them. I'm trying to build up my collection of books again, I lost a couple of cartons of books when moving a few years ago, I was devastated! I want to devote a whole corner of my living room to my books ... must remember to tell OH
  7. I'm so glad you enjoyed Bitten chesilbeach I thought it was great but not the best in the series by far in my opinion(I think I only gave it a 7/10). Once you've read the next one, Stolen, you won't look back! My favourite so far has been Industrial Magic. I'm desparately trying not to buy any more in the series, but I have to say, I'm weakening!
  8. Hi Pageturner to the forum!
  9. Hi Jennyflower! Welcome to the forum!
  10. I'm so glad you're loving this Nici, now I know I'm not mad! Its one of the most affecting series I've read! I wish you'd read it Michelle, I would love to know if another anti-twilight reader could be converted like me!
  11. I finished Dead And Gone ~by~ Charlaine Harris last week, forgot to do this! Synopsis Courtesy of Waterstones: Now it's the turn of the weres and shifters to follow the lead of the undead and reveal their existence to the ordinary world. Sookie Stackhouse already knows about them, of course - her brother turns into a panther at the full moon, she's friend to the local Were pack and Sam, her boss at Merlotte's bar, is a shifter. At first the great Were revelation seems to go well - then the horribly mutilated body of a were-panther is found outside Merlotte's. Though Sookie never cared that much for the victim, no one deserves such a horrible death, so she agrees to use her telepathic talent to track down the murderer. But what Sookie doesn't realise is that there is a far greater danger than this killer threatening Bon Temps: a race of unhuman beings, older, more powerful and far more secretive than the vampires or the werewolves is preparing for war ... My thoughts: The weres and shifters have seen how well it went when the vampires revealed themselves to the world so now they do the same. All seems to go well until a shifter is found crucified in the parking lot of Merlotte's. Sookie uses her ability to try to help even though she has her own problems at the min, her new relatives have just told her that a very dangerous supernatural is out to kill her ... This book seemed a bit slower paced than the norm but I still enjoyed it. We discover a lot more about Sookie, her heritage and what makes her and her brother Jason so desirable. Sookie is her fearless, determined self who is loving finding out about her new family, complete with attached danger and even appears to sort out her love life at last! 8/10 I've really enjoyed the whole series and hope there are more Sookie books to come

  16. I can't speak for everyone but I do have to be careful. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in my reading my normal life suffers, I lose days! Not to mention, nothing gets done and it always seems to be piled up waiting for me when I come back to reality!
  17. This is a great series chesil, and will definately fill the gap left by Sookie!
  18. Hey You! haven't seen you in ages! Missing you loads   The new man is Eric from True Blood, a very dark and very sexy vampire! ;)

  19. I've never come across this before, I must be reading the wrong books, either that or I just missed it . It does seem like a good idea though, it lets us know what points the author deemed the most important part of their work.
  20. My mojo has been right there with me and just lately, if I'm really into a book, I can read it in one or two days, 300-400 pages usually 1 day, 500-700 pages, 2 days. Normally I would aim to read one per week, that's usually a nice pace for me. Any more than that and I'm delighted!
  21. Happy 21st Birthday Rach! :balloons: Hope you have a fantastic day! :smile2:

  22. Welcome back Adam! I hope your career plans go very well and you enjoy being back here

  25. Good choice of series' Gyre In the last couple of months I've read The Sookie Stackhouse series, as you know, and half of the Women of the Otherworld series. I've really enjoyed them both too. I also read the Twilight series, didn't you read it recently too?
