  1. I think .. and don't quote me... its 13, and that's only for a few hours on a Saturday or a paper round, something like that and never late at night. It helps give the kids a bit of pocket money and teaches them how you need to work to earn, mine still need to learn that lesson!
  2. Nope, just the trailor. Its on here end of July I think, Gyre is gonna remind me when cause I've a head like a sieve I'm looking forward to it
  3. Oh dear ... sorry you didn't like this, it doesn't sound good. I hate it when that happens, feels like you've just wasted your time reading it Hope your next read is much better!
  4. Thanks! ..... I think Are you kidding? I've been trying to get my 16yr old son out to work part-time for the last two years!
  5. Glad you're liking him levine, excellent taste!
  6. He is very appealing isn't he? Quite the attractive 'badboy' type Thanks Gyre I'm actually glad they got that ending, I don't think I could take any more of their adventures! I've actually read the first two and I just received the rest of the series in the post the other day via Gyre's bookring, a bit of a more 'adult' Twilight! Oh ... Oh ... Oh ...and I saw a trailor last night for the 'True Blood' series ... looks great!

  8. :hbsign: Hope you're having a lovely birthday! :smile2:
  9. My first job was when I was 14. I worked 4hrs on a Saturday in a health food and supplement shop. I loved it. I got to learn a lot about herbal remedies and homeopathy too (forgotten most of it now though ). During the summer I would have worked longer hours and by the time I was 16 I was managing it when the owner wanted to go away on holiday herself. It was great, and I remember she paid me well too, compared to all my friends who were working in the newsagents or grocers. After I left school I went on to college and then had various jobs before I decided I wanted to be a chef which I then trained for, again ending up managing the place ... hmmm ... do I sound controlling???
  10. Hey there, I just wanted to pop in and say how sorry I was bout your Dad's cousin :console: . I hope he pulls through OK and copes well. Take Care

  11. I don't know how much more I can take!
  12. Awww .. what are you like?? You did it again peace, another convert. I'm glad I read them, although for some reason I cannot get RP out of my head, and your av doesn't help!
  13. God and the biker. A man riding his Harley was riding along a California beach when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, the Lord said, 'Because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish..' The biker pulled over and said, 'Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want.' The Lord said, 'Your request is materialistic, think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking; the supports required reaching the bottom of the Pacific and the concrete and steel it would take! It will nearly exhaust several natural resources I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that could possibly help mankind.' The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally, he said, 'Lord, I wish that I and all men could understand women; I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong, why she snaps and complains when I try to help, and how I can make a Woman truly happy.' The Lord replied, 'You want two lanes or four on that bridge?
  14. "I've never been able to afford to be too finicky," I said. "That's not my nature." If Alcide expected or wanted me to ask for smelling salts, or to beg him to save little me from the big bad wolf, he had the wrong woman. Club Dead ~by~ Charlaine Harris
  15. I've read worse, although I half expected Rose to chew it out with her teeth! I am glad its over though, it was quite emotionally draining TBH. Next time I go to do something stupid like this would you please remind me of this series???

  16. I'm good thanks! I hope you are too :D I'll keep my eye out for Dead and Gone from the postie and am gonna make a start on Club Dead tonight. :smile2:

  17. I just finished Breaking Dawn ~by~ Stephenie Meyer, the last in the current Twilight series. Synopsis Courtesy of Waterstones: To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation, loss and strife to reach the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fate of two tribes hangs. Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating and unfathomable consequences. Just when the frayed strands of Bella's life - first discovered in TWILIGHT, then scattered and torn in NEW MOON and ECLIPSE - seem ready to heal and knit together, could they be destroyed...forever? My thoughts: Just as Bella and Edward were finally getting themselves and their lives together and event occurs which rocks them, and all who know them to their core. Relationship dynamics change and a journey begins for the couple which could result in devastating consequences ... This installment from Ms Meyer was so long (700 pages) she broke it up into 3 books, the first of which was an absolute joy to read after all the intense drama of the previous books. The second was told from the perspective of another character, which totally irritated me, but the third returned to being narrated by Bella. Although I still enjoyed Breaking Dawn, I found myself starting to get bored halfway through the story. I don't think the book needed 700 pages to be honest, and felt it a bit dragging with a lot of unnecessary waffling. The pace did pick up towards the end but I do think a bit more action was called for. However, all this did help bring me back to reality after the very intensive first books, so for that I am thankful! All in all, I think the whole Twilight series was a great saga and one which I really enjoyed. I've also no worries about letting Kookie read it which is the main thing and the whole reason for my 'research' .... things I do for my kids 8/10
  18. Nope. I still haven't got a copy of Fractured never mind Genesis! .. and I've still got Skin Privilage and Triptych on my TBR pile
  19. Oh good God I know what you mean, although the last one did drag a bit so it kinda eased me back into reality ;)

I suppose you could take the gerbils with you, much safer than stapling them to the floor!

You need to re-decorate your profile! :D Add a bit of warmth and colour hunny

Btw .. speaking of hunny .. we went for a walk and I taught Kookie how to play Pooh Sticks over the bridge at the end of our road (I won of course :D) . I couldn't believe she'd never heard of them!

  20. Hi! to the forum MuggleMagic, hope you love it here.
  21. Shhhh you! Stop shouting that Twi-hard rubbish! I'm a grown woman! God Edward/Rob is gorgeous though :o .. and no, I don't think you should get gerbils. Aren't you going away again to study?

BTW you need to redecorate in here ....

  22. Glad you liked this one Lexie, I did feel the same though; not quite as good as Dearly Devoted Dexter, but don't worry he picks up again in Dexter by Design
  23. Bill was hunched over the computer when I let myself in his house. Club Dead ~by~ Charlaine Harris
  24. Oh absolutely! It did drag on a bit too IMO
  25. Hah! Never mind ..I've finished! So there! Thank goodness! I feel as if I've been in limbo the last few days I guess I'm now officially a Twilight fan as much as I hate to say it. Although I think I'm more of an Edward Cullen fan *swoon*
