  1. I got the first and the third in the 'Odd' series by Dean Koontz today. I got them in a charity shop and I was all excited thinking I'd got the first and second! I think I should wait until I find Forever Odd before starting them though I would never have thought of even looking at them if it wasn't for your thread Gyre. thank you!
  2. I used to prefer the cartoon covers but I kinda like the new ones better now. I think that probably has a lot to do with the True Blood series, it is rather racy and the new covers just seem more appropriate now, more adult.
  3. :balloons: Happy Birthday! Hope you have a lovely day! :smile2:
  4. Happy Birthday! Hope you have a lovely day :smile2:

  5. hehehe oh dear, you have it bad now don't you? Don't worry, you won't have spoilt anything, the rest of the storylines will more than keep you interested. However, you will find yourself a bit frustrated waiting to see Eric! He doesn't really come well into it until series 2 :( If the series are following the books, I can't wait til series 4, its all about Eric :D

  6. The first Stephen King book I ever read was Salem's Lot and thought it was fantastic, its a vampire horror. Another great one I would recommend is Pet Semetry, both novels scared the bejaysus outta me! Mind you, I was only about 15 at the time I've heard a lot of great reviews and comments on here about his book The Shining although I haven't read it myself.
  7. No, I've never walked out of a film. I don't really go to the cinema that much though, 2 maybe 3 times a year, and any time I do go it's to see something that I've really wanted particularly to see on the big screen. Maybe that's why
  8. Hey Andy to the forum. You'll get loads of great recommendations on here!
  9. I hope you're enjoying it, it took me a while but I ended up really enjoying it

10 days? That's great news :D If you do have any problems getting your hands on a copy though, just let me know and I'll gladly get you one ;) Take Care xoxo

  11. Would this be The Empty Chair by Jeffrey Deaver by any chance Chrissy?
  12. In that case be aware, its part of a series, the first one is called Blindsighted, it is best to start there.
  13. Its Skin Privilege by Karin Slaughter. Have you read it?
  14. Morning!

I'm much better today thanks, I had a bit of a hangover yesterday (it was sooo worth it though, I had smokes and everything on Sat night! :)) How are you? I hope you've shaken off that flu completely now

Yip my mojo has gone, It just up and left after I finished Sookie! Stupid bloody thing :irked: I have no interest in reading anything I have, you'd think among 40 books I've yet to read I could find one! I'm slowly plodding through Skin Privilege by Karin Slaughter but its exactly that, a plod. I have to force myself to read it and usually I like her stuff

I haven't weighed myself in ages, since I was sick in fact. I'm sure I've put on loads, I can feel it, but I just have no interest at the min, we have a lot going on here, well that's my excuse ;) Glad you're feeling good and weight training, it's a great way to use up fat, remember muscle weighs heavier than fat so you may not lose weight as such, but could be losing inches, which is the whole point! :D

  15. Advice FOR MEN that could change your life forever! 1. IF YOU'RE CHOKING ON AN ICE CUBE, SIMPLY POUR A CUP OF BOILING WATER DOWN YOUR THROAT. PRESTO! THE BLOCKAGE WILL INSTANTLY REMOVE ITSELF. 2. AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES BY GETTING SOMEONE ELSE TO HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP. 3. AVOID ARGUMENTS WITH FEMALES ABOUT LIFTING THE TOILET SEAT BY USING THE SINK. 4. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOUR WRIST AND BLEED FOR A FEW MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. REMEMBER TO USE A TIMER. 5. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ROLLING OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON. 6. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES. THEN 'TRY' TO COUGH. 7. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE. 8. REMEMBER - EVERYONE SEEMS NORMAL UNTIL YOU GET TO KNOW THEM. 9. IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. Daily thought FOR WOMEN: SOME MEN ARE LIKE SLINKIES - NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACEWHEN PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS.
  16. I absolutely loved this one, it was my total favourite of the series and I'm so glad you liked it My opinion of Bill has totally changed, from the start of the series I adored him but not long after the third book he really began to irritate me.
  17. Toasted bacon bagels with philladelphia cheese. Didn't feel like cooking and they were quick and yummy
