  1. can't decide what to read next, think I should move on to something more in the way of a thriller for a change.

  2. Now don't be a silly billy, you can pop in and hijack my thread anytime, you're always welcome! I found Dead in the Family a bit slow too, as I'm sure you guessed. It took me ages to read it ... well compared to any other Sookie book ... I just wasn't as dying to get back to it as I normally would with this series. Hope you end up enjoying it hun
  3. Oh yes, (I forgot about that pickle!) you should check out her website Weave and you'll be able to read them all! I've already done that
  4. So pleased you enjoyed Dark Lover Weave! It is indeed cheesy, and corny as hell, but entertaining nonetheless!
  5. I was just about to say that, then I read your edit! You silly sausage
  6. It is a shame, it really was a bit of a let down. Oh well, hopefully the next one will be better Oh no, I don't blame ya, I wouldn't have bought it either if it wasn't by J R Ward!
  7. Oh so glad to hear this, I may have to order it soon I'm halfway through my current read and plan to get some more read today.
  8. Brilliant pic Ceinwenn, you lucky thing!

  11. Dead in the Family ~by~ Charlaine Harris Synopsis courtesy of Waterstone's: If you think your family relationships are complicated, think again: you haven't seen anything like the ones in Bon Temps, Louisiana. Sookie Stackhouse is dealing with a whole host of family problems, ranging from her own kin (a non-human fairy and a telepathic second cousin) demanding a place in her life, to her lover Eric's vampire sire, an ancient being, who arrives with Eric's 'brother' in tow at a most inopportune moment. And Sookie's tracking down a distant relation of her ailing neighbour (and ex), Vampire Bill Compton. In addition to the multitude of family issues complicating her life, the werewolf pack of Shreveport has asked Sookie for a special favour, and since Sookie is an obliging young woman, she agrees. But this favour for the wolves has dire results for Sookie, who is still recovering from the trauma of her abduction during the Fairy War... I was so looking forward to reading this as I have loved the series so far, but unfortunately I have to say, I was rather disappointed. I kept waiting for something to happen, even the ending was rather an anti-climax, but compared to the rest of the series the whole book just seemed tame. I do feel a bit let down but I'm hoping it's just a glitch in the series and will still probably get the next one. 5/10
  12. Oh looking forward to seeing what you think of this pipread! I hope you enjoy it I finished Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris at last, a bit disappointed Hopefully it's just a glitch and the next will be far better. I've started Ecstasy Unveiled by Larissa Ione.
  13. I'm not exactly sure where she met him, I think it was her a Waterstone's book signing near her. I'll ask her to post a pic next time I'm talking to her
  14. I was chatting to Ceinwenn last night, right after she had been to meet the fabulous Mr Deaver at a book signing! She told me that she asked him to sign her new copy of his book 'To 'her real name' and the Deaverettes! He was like 'ok, there has to be a story behind this?' so she told him all about the BCF, our merry band of Deaverettes and the many fans he has on here. He was chuffed and said he would try to check out the forum as soon as he got back home!! So there you have it folks, you never know, we may get a visit from the master of crime and twists himself!!
  15. Aw nothing serious I hope? Feel better soon! I haven't done any reading so far today, although the day is still young
  16. I've only watched a couple of episodes of the first series, but (as far as I can remember ) there is very little, if not no, sexual content in the books. Try the first book in the series, I found them better than the TV show.
  17. Happy Birthday! Have a great day :)

  20. I've almost finished Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris, and still it's just as if I'm waiting for it to start and something to happen ... oh dear
  21. I'm so jealous!!
  22. Excellent!! I hope you like it Can't wait to see what you think.
  23. Yeah I guess that would make sense, even now, in the middle of a series, I have to think back to remember some of the more obscure characters. I just get so involved and don't realise how fast I'm reading! I do try to catch myself on but I often forget I shall bring Shiver onto my bookshelf and get to it sooner than later!
  24. Happy Birthday!
