  7. I'm almost finished Triptych by Karin Slaughter, took me a while to get into but it's really not a bad read.
  8. These are great reads, a bit like the Scarpetta books if you've ever read them, hope you find the first in the series Thanks! I've read the whole first ...... 2 pages! I think I just need to come up for air lol Still no mojo for you? Not like you hun and not like Dexter either to chase it away, Dexter by Design is actually back to form Maybe you're just not in the Dexter mood atm? Hope it hurries back!
  9. Aw frankie, hope your mojo comes back soon I finished The Harlequin by Laurell K Hamilton last night, not sure what to read next, was thinking Triptych by Karin Slaughter .
  10. Hey Shin! So pleased you ended up enjoying Bitten in the end, I felt the same way about it that you did but I too liked it in the end. Stolen is way better IMO and the series just gets better and better! Nice to see you liked the Undead series so far too. I've just read the first of the series and have to agree, a bit cheesy but a nice light and witty read! Hope you're well
  11. Two great books about the salem witch trials I think you'd enjoy CaliLily
  12. Yay! I'm so pleased you like it You could skip it, but it does give you an insight into Micha's past and how he became what he is, that bit is still worth a read. One thing I should warn you about with the next couple of books is I've almost finished Danse Macabre, not sure what I'll read next.
  13. Yay! Glad you enjoyed the first enough to order more! I almost bought this today, almost. Then I bought kookie 3 books instead .... boy she's good Edit: Forgot to add my book activity I finished Incubus Dreams by Laurell K Hamilton and moved straight on to Micah and Strange Candy by the same author. Well, of course I didn't even read the back of it and just headed on in there to enjoy another doorstop of a book. What I didn't realise was that, it was in fact one main story from the series, like a novella type of thing (Micah) followed by a selection of short stories (Strange Candy) by the same author with no relevence to the actual series! I was so peeved I just read the Micah story and put the book in my handbag to have the short stories for when I'm stuck waiting for something or other, then I went on to the next in the series, which I was glad to have or I'd have went nuts! So now I'm reading Danse Macabre by Laurell K Hamilton, a little sooner than planned!
  14. It was an October wedding. Incubus Dreams ~by~ Laurell K Hamilton
  15. Charm

    Oh my! *blushes profusely!*

  16. I've read and enjoyed both of these, hope you do too! Read a bit last night but none so far today, probably will later though.
  17. Aww she's is gorgeous CaliLily! So cute! I'm sure you'll have her nursed back to health in no time. Can't wait to see pics of her as she grows up You have great taste in names by the way Gonna be hard to get used to a cat named Piper rather than a rottweiler, big difference!!
  18. Read a bit of Incubus Dreams today while sitting in the sun on our newly finished patio. First time I've been able to do that in years!
  19. Your patience has paid off, it's now your turn! Just pm your address to me and I'll post it on So pleased you enjoyed this! It took me a while to get used to Anita but once I did I got hooked. I've now just started Incubus Dreams .... well when I say just started, I meant over 100 pages, but the blooming thing is nearly 840 pages long so when you put it into perspective then yeah, just started! This could take a while ......
  20. I was worried I'd drop it in the bath tonight it was so heavy, so I didn't take it in with me. I don't think it will fit in my handbag either!! Thanks Weave
  21. Thanks Weave & Steph! I have a thing for roses at the min, gothic in nature of course
  22. I know there's a comment which could be made here, but I shall refrain! It is big, I wanted to take it to the bath to make a start on it, but it's so big I was afraid of dropping it in the water .... so I didn't bother
  23. I think Kate's new avatar is beautiful I'm also loving Steph's Sweeney Todd! I have the movie version book on my shelf TBR, love it! Nice to see the neck back too of course
  24. Breakneck ~by~ Erica Spindler Synopsis courtesy of Waterstone's: Mary Catherine 'MC' Riggio and Kitt Lundgren, detective partners at the Rockford Violent Crimes Bureau, have been through a lot together. Lately, though, things have begun to look up: MC is about to get married, while Kitt is slowly coming to terms with the loss of her daughter. Suddenly, the fragile peace of their world is shattered when a brutal murder strikes close to home for MC. Nothing will be the same again. A killer is on the loose, someone who quickly and systematically works his way down a seemingly unconnected list of victims. With the body count rising, MC realises that she has to keep her head in the game and use her grief to fuel the hunt, but as the madman draws ever closer, Kitt and MC begin to struggle to walk that fine line between protecting the law - and taking it into their own hands ... I'm so pleased I had this on my shelf as, after I'd finished Copycat, I just wanted to go straight on to it! This one concentrated more on the character of MC and we get to know her a lot better throughout the book. It contained a list of emotions for me, especially at the beginning when I just wanted to sob my heart out! Again the author delivers a terrific storyline, which starts off quickly, building to a dramatic ending. I did however guess the 'bad guy' pretty early on, but this did nothing to destroy my enjoyment of the read and besides, I did question my thought once or twice! Another fantastic read by Erica Spindler who is fast becomming one of my favourite authors. 8/10
  25. Copycat ~by~ Erica Spindler Synopsis courtesy of Waterstone's: Five years ago, three little girls were murdered in their beds, posed like sleeping angels by a twisted killer. With no witnesses and no clues, Detective Kitt Lundgren was forced to look on helplessly - taunted by a psychopath proud of his 'perfect crimes'. Now, the Sleeping Angel Killer is back. Traumatised by the original murders and viewed by colleagues as a washed-up has-been, Lundgren is over-looked for the case. But only she notices that there's something different about this new rash of killings - a tiny variation that opens terrifying new possibilities... This is the third book by Erica Spindler I've read and so far I haven't been disappointed by any of them. It's a fast moving storyline with well rounded characters who I grew to like very quickly. There's enough twists and turns to keep those pages turning fast, with a great ending into the bargain. I'm so pleased she wrote a sequel! If you're after a good crime thrille to get your teeth into, this could be for you 8/10
