Chaos. Sleeplessness. Disorder. Ravaging mojos. My work here is done I am SO pleased you both are enjoying it so much considering I went on about it so much! I almost knocked myself out with it when I dosed off in bed while reading it! Totally worth it though Result! I just knew you'd like them My own reading activity isn't great. I'm reading Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane and I'm now only up to page 45 I think it's cause I'm not really fond of the main character atm but hopefully it picks up.

Suffer for your books! I'll have to remember that one next time my OH is complaining about carrying all mine Aw, I'm so pleased my confusion has resulted in your pleasure hun, often my confusion causes nothing but trouble! 'Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most' I'll definitely use the alphabetical order trick next time I see these books

Are you reading it next then? I can't get in to my next read at all yet, still thinking about Discovery of Witches

Oh thank goodness someone feels the same as I do (isn't Matthew Clairmont just wonderful *sigh*), I'm so pleased it's your favourite book this year too. Although I find I like a lot of the same stuff as a good many people on here, so I shouldn't really be surprised! Sorry Shirley, bad new is - the sequel isn't out until sometime 2012 Aw shucks, you two I wouldn't call them reviews as such, I just write what I think and can remember about them, they're in no way as structured and good as many other peoples' reviews on here. But thank you both Yay! Whenareyoureadingit? Whenareyoureadingit? -
The main character in my head at the min is Matthew Clairmont from A Discovery Of Witches by Deborah Harkness. I can whole heartedly recommend you read this! I can't even concentrate on another read properly yet

Excellent choice Weave! I really think you'll like it Come back here and write what you think won't you? I can't wait to read your review on it -
Oh my, what a hard question! I would say both. Now I know that doesn't make sense but here's my reasoning. There's no reason why a mature young adult couldn't read it, but at the same time, the book felt more grown up than Stephanie Meyer's books. I've got it! She writes like Katherine Howe with a bit of historical Elizabeth Kostova thrown in, and a mix of Kelley Armstrong Does that help? I'm not very good at this review and description stuff

Wow, good haul frankie and well done you walking! Although, I imagine carrying that many books back got pretty heavy after a while I saw Heartsick in a charity shop the other day and put it back because I thought it was a sequel. The blurb read like a sequel and I hate having books on my shelves that I can't actually read because I haven't read the previous books! I really need to look into Chelsea Cain, she's on my wishlist but I didn't have it with me

Go for it Chesil - you know you want to! I agree with you Abby about Clockwork Angel, it is great and I'm sure I'll buy Clockwork Prince, but I still prefer The Mortal Instruments series ... ah Jace *sigh*
-
Hey Abby! I'm so pleased you're enjoying COFA as much as I did Wait til you get to the end, I loved and hated the ending! Damn cliffhangers
-
Oh I think you'll like it chesil, don't plan much for the weekend, you'll want to read! Well at least I hope you do!
-
Uh-oh .... I really really hope you like it now!

A Discovery Of Witches ~by~ Deborah Harkness Synopsis Courtesy of Waterstone's: An epic, richly inventive, historically sweeping, magical romance. When historian Diana Bishop opens an alchemical manuscript in the Bodleian Library, it's an unwelcome intrusion of magic into her carefully ordered life. Though Diana is a witch of impeccable lineage, the violent death of her parents while she was still a child convinced her that human fear is more potent than any witchcraft. Now Diana has unwittingly exposed herself to a world she's kept at bay for years; one of powerful witches, creative, destructive daemons and long-lived vampires. Sensing the significance of Diana's discovery, the creatures gather in Oxford, among them the enigmatic Matthew Clairmont, a vampire genticist. Diana is inexplicably drawn to Matthew and, in a shadowy world of half-truths and old enmities, ties herself to him without fully understanding the ancient line they are crossing. As they begin to unlock the secrets of the manuscript and their feelings for each other deepen, so the fragile balance of peace unravels... I didn't know what I was really expecting when I bought this book, in fact the sheer size of it's hugh hardback form was rather daunting, even though the synopsis was very tempting. However, as soon as I started it I knew I was in for a treat, and what a treat it was, I loved it! It is written in a way that doesn't bore you with facts and dates about the necessary history element, on the contrary, it was fascinating to read. The magical elements were woven into the historical facts in a believable (well as believeable as magic is) and often funny way and I found myself laughing out loud several times. It wasn't action packed per say, it was an easy going tale, although it moved along nicely and kept me completely engrossed. The characters were wonderful, (I am now totally in love with Matthew Clairmont) and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about how the relationship between Matthew and Diana progressed and how it affected the storyline. It did become rather far fetched, even for a fantasy book, towards the end, but I don't care, this is my favourite read of the year so far and would now be among my top ten favourite books. A Discovery Of Witches is the first in a trilogy and I will most definitely be getting the next two in the series. 10/10

City Of Fallen Angels - Mortal Instruments 4 ~by~ Cassandra Clare Synopsis Courtesy Of Waterstone's: Simon Lewis is having some trouble adjusting to his new life as a vampire, especially now that he hardly sees his best friend Clary, who is caught up in training to be a Shadowhunter - and spending time with her new boyfriend, Jace. Simon decides he needs a break and heads out of the city - only to discover that sinister events are following him. Realizing that the war they thought they'd won might not yet be over, Simon has to call on his Shadowhunter friends to save the day - if they can put their own splintering relationships on hold long enough to rise to the challenge. This would have to be one of my favourite YA series so far, I haven't been let down yet by any of the books and this one is no exception. The books are well thought out, with plots which unfold nicely throughout. The characters are interesting and likeable, with more to learn about them as the series progresses. City of Fallen Angels left us with a humdinger of a cliffhanger too which now means I can't wait for the next one! If you are in any way a fan of the young adult fantasy genre, then I can definitely recommend this series. 9/10

Sin Undone ~by~ Larissa Ione Synopsis courtesy of Waterstone's: HER TOUCH IS DEADLY As the only female Seminus demon ever born, master assassin Sinead Donnelly is used to being treated like an outcast. She spent decades enslaved and now vows she'll die before she'll relinquish her freedom again. Then Sin's innate ability to kill her enemies goes awry: She creates a lethal new werewolf virus that sparks a firestorm of panic and violence. HIS HUNGER CAN'T BE DENIED Half-werewolf, half-vampire Conall Dearghul is charged with bringing in Sin to face punishment for the plague. And she's no stranger: He's bound to her by blood and the one sexual encounter they shared has left him hungering for her raw sensuality. Worse, Sin is the underworld's most wanted and Con soon learns he's the only one who can help her ...and that saving her life might mean sacrificing his own. This is the 5th book in the Demonica series by Larissa Ione, which this time follows Sinead, Lore's sister and master of the demonic assasin den. I thoroughly enjoy these type of books, a guilty pleasure really. They're packed full of action, supernatural battles and romance, although definitely not YA, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes authors like J R Ward and Gena Showalter. 9/10

I'm a big fan of Kelley Armstrong too but haven't read any of her YA stuff, do you think I'd like The Gathering Claire? it sounds good
