  1. Odd Thomas was great - interesting new ideas from Koontz, well written story, nice development of characters.. you really started believing in them, and feeling for them. Started strange (so don;t give up on it!), then picked up speed well. Some creepy/scary moments, some touching, sad ones. A great offering from Koontz this time.
  2. You don't have time for dinner!!
  3. Jo! I have that one for sale.. you could have bought it for much less than Amazon!
  4. Yep, that was another one I used to read alot of.. but can't remember!
  5. Oh my goodness.. another one to look out for! I'm going to need much bigger book shelves soon!
  6. That is true - we can all moan about lives and our childhoods, but we have to think about what others go through. That little 3 year ols in the news has touched me recently - she's too frightened to go back to her own house, it's so sad.
  7. My mum and I read loads of John Saul when I was also a teenager. He is a good author, but I think we overdosed a bit, and went off him!
  8. The ending certainly surprised me.. I didn't see that coming!
  9. Kell, your typing is getting as bad as mine!
  10. Inanna, have you seen the eFiction on her site? I read one of them, and it was really good.
  11. Actually it's MSN we're doing well in.. but we're slowly winning the Google war too!

  13. I know you weren't keen on Pratchett, but how was BMH?
  14. At the moment I'm about half way through Dean Koontz Odd Thomas. It started off very strangely, but wanting you to continue. Now the story is building up well, and the bit at the church actually made me feel a bit scared / nervous. Looking forward to finishing this one.. it's good to find a good Koontz one again.
  15. Well, it's got pretty good reviews on Amazon, and sounds intriguing, so I've ordered from one of the marketplace sellers. This site is doing my bank balance no good at all! LOL
  16. Welcome! Don't forget to pop into the Introductions forum, and let us know a little more about yourself.
  17. I keep noticing this author pop up in the threads, so I thought I'd start her her own thread. I've read My Sister's Keeper.. I thought it raised some interesting issues, and I for one 'liked' the ending. I have, however, seen some bad reviews, and most people seem to not like the ending. I have The Pact on my shelf to read, but I've lost my enthusiasm for it. I see a couple of people are reading it.. how are you finding it?
  18. The Taking was weird, wasn't it? Very different, but hard to put down.
  19. You have so many good things to come! The characters develop so well.. I'm a big fan of the relationship between Dallas and Peabody.
  20. You can help us if we get stuck with the characters then.
  21. Now she tells us! lol Make sure you keep an eye on this post.. as we read and comment, you can join in.
  22. Reading Cirlce book for Jan / Feb: Trace by Patricia Cornwell Against her own judgement and the advice of Benton Wesley and her niece, Lucy, Scarpetta agrees to return to Virginia as a consultant pathologist on a case involving the death of a fourteen-year-old girl. Accompanied by Pete Marino she finds the once familiar territory of her morgue and her department much changed, and the new Chief Medical Examiner treats her with disdain despite the obvious fact that he is in desperate need of her expertise. But professional as ever, she re-examines the evidence and proves the girl was murdered. She also finds trace evidence which matches that found on an accident victim and at the scene where one of Lucy's operatives was attacked. It is not only a forensic puzzle, but opens up the probability that someone is after those closest to Scarpetta. I believe it's
