  1. These just get better.. I loved the humour in DSM. Anyone else have a favourite?
  2. Excellent! It's great that we're starting to show in the search engines.
  3. See, I knew our Jo could help! I'm going to split this topic, btw, as it's useful.
  4. Leave your recipies here... (Discussions in a seperate thread, if possible, to make the recipies easier to find. )
  5. Maureen, I've read most of Kings - I'll have a look later, and tr to work out what you may like. We need Jo in this thread, as she's an expert.. some one give her a prod! :wake:
  6. Yep, just started it this morning.. looks good.
  7. I think I enjoyed Stolen even more! Onto the next one... :read:
  8. Continued from this thread. So what's for dinner tonight? For us, it's an Indian take-away! lol
  9. It's been a while since I was really excited about new books arriving, but I could hardly wait for the rest of hers to turn up from Amazon! And I've not been disappointed so far.. Stolen continues Elena's story, but also introduces other great characters and ideas. To anyone who likes the usual horror books, I'm sure you'll like these, and also people who like thrillers. In addition, I'm reminded of how I felt reading JD Robb.. great character development.. I feel like I'm really getting to know them, just like Dallas et al, and looking forward to hearing what comes next for them. (Bitten is for sale, btw! )
  10. I highly recommend Beginnings.. it gives a great insight into their relationship.. and takes you right up to the bite!
  11. Ah yes.. Dolores Clayborne was a good one. Maureen, are you becoming a King fan?
  12. Kell or Gaia.. have you read the eFiction at all? I'm about half way through Beginnings, and really enjoying it. It's great to see how Clay and Elena met.
  13. Aww.. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now! And, of course, we like having you here. :friends:
  14. That's odd - I wrote out a reply here this morning.. and it's not here! Anyway, I really enjoyed Bitten.. it's a great idea for a story, but she also has such great characters. I've found myself a new author to read! Kelly has eFiction on her site - there are 3 full length books which are prequels to Bitten, plus 12 short stories she wrote in 2005. I've just downloaded and printed off Beginnings - I have a laser printer, so it shouldn't be too heavy on ink, but you can also download an eReader version, or simply read online. There's also alot of good stuff on her site - but no one is allowed to get caught up in her message board, and forget this one!!
  15. I'm trying Bitten on your recommendation.. and I'm impressed! In fact, as Amazon has some of hers at 3.99, I may just go buy a few more!
  16. It seems like we all enjoyed this one then. I was disappointed over the lottery win - everything else had to go along as it should, even his death. The lottery bit seemed like really cheating, it was an easy way for the author to get them some money. Back to more important matters though.. I also thought that Clare would always be waiting for that last meet. With regards to his death, maybe he knew deep down it would be for the best. He needed to run, and that was taken from him when he lost his feet. It also made time travel extremely difficult.. image the situations he could find himself in. The part where he witnessed Ingrids suicide was also so well written. I also agree with Maureen.. the author is going to have a hard time following this one up.
  17. The Chrysalids was one of the books I read whilst doing my English Literature GCSE, and so when I saw a chance to buy it as part of a box set from Kell, I jumped at the chance. I've just finished it, and have now started looking at the rest. These include Chocky, which I've almost finished, The Day of the Triffids (which I remember seeing on the TV when younger, and loving it!), and The Midwich Cuckoos, which was mde into the film Village of the Damned. They are fairly short books (Chocky, for example is 152 pages), and very readable. I'm not sure who he intended these for, but would think they would appeal to both teenagers (remembering my GCSE years!), and adults alike. Obviously Kell enjoyed these, and I'd like to hear more for her. Has anyone else read them?
  18. Cool.. now start , and get !
  19. That is a pain, isn't Mau. I keep telling you, you need to move! Kell, it's only good if you like book clubs, because you get tied in with them. But, with the amount of books you buy....! lol
  20. I think it's just you and me! http://bookclubforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=398 I have actually just ordered the second Jonathan Stroud one.
  21. Kell, you really do read at quite a pace. Are you a fast reader, or do you spend a lot of time at it?
  22. So the * is for the wildcard? I'm also wondering what sort of sites you need that one for?!
  23. Now, for some twisted reason, that one really amused me!
