  1. Thank you. :) I'm hoping that the tests will show something simple like anaemia, which I can then get treated. Hope things are good with you.

  2. They've been mentioned twice..
  3. That was my point - it's the usual reporting which doesn't really tell us much. Most people are assuming that she's reading all these books, when the report actually only tells us she's taken them out of the library.
  4. You didn't set your profile to have your birthday show! :) Hope you're having a great day.

  5. Hi - if you want to quote what someone else has said, just click on the button in the bottom right hand corner of their post, which says 'Quote'. :)

If you're still having trouble with the general workings of a forum, you may find the FAQ useful..

  6. Has anyone spotted the flaw here? They smply say she borrows 12 books aweek.. no one says she's reading them all!
  7. Of course that's not something I like to hear.
  8. Just a reminder that we have a group over there - it's not really used much, but it's a good way to find everyone, and make sure they can find you. http://www.librarything.com/groups/bcf
  9. I'm actually listening to The Little Stranger on my ipod. I'm only a few chapters in, but enjoying it so far (when I don't fall asleep! lol)
  10. Sorted. Although, with it being on the bbc site, most people are going to know.
  11. My daughter will be so excited - (As am I, of course! )
  12. I think he's been seen during filming for the specials...
  13. Jules, don't give up on them.. they don't always work on mine (about 90% of the time, I guess). However, they also say that if one type doesn't work, there's an 80% chance that another one will. It really is worth it.. the joy of feeling that pain go is great!
  14. Ah.. but going by this forum, they DO appeal to older readers.
  15. That's fine Roxi - I often remember specific threads and am therefore able to merge them.
  16. I'm not actually moaning about the book though - as I said in another thread, it's the addiction and obsessive side of it that is starting to bother me. Plus, of course, I'm rather fed up seeing Twilight avatars.. it does make the forum feel as if it's being taken over. But hey, that's just my view.
  17. These types of threads have all been discussed before, but it was probably a while ago, and they won't be that easy to search for.
  18. No hunt of any kind.. I was simply carrying out something which was suggested.
  19. I think maybe it's this addiction / obsessional thing which annoys me the most about Twilight.. and slightly concerns me too!!
  20. It's more the fact that there's absolutely no need for it - this is a question which could be asked in the Twilight thread. So yes, merged!
  21. I forgot to mention Love Begins in Winter.. a lovely, poetic book of five short stories. During the week I took Beth to Waterstones - they did a thing through the school wherein Beth took in a book, with a review, for her school library, and they gave her a voucher for a selection of books at Waterstones. However, we could only find one out of the list, The Fire Within by Chris D'lacey. I decided it looked fun, and I wanted something nice and light to read, so I'm now reading it. They had the usual 3 for 2, and I told her that if she could find 3 decent books, I'd get them. I was very impressed (and happy) when she chose 3 very quickly, and they were all a decent size. No more Horrid Henry.. yay! She went for Coraline, Cosmic, and The Magic Thief - the latter may well make it my way soon too.
  22. Raven I'm discovering a newfound admiration for you!
  23. I was beginning to feel challenged, so I wandered over to greenmetropolis to take a look.. and everyone is charging extra postage on it! Is it really that big?
  24. Ok then, here it is.. vote away...
