Here in the US there's a new housing movement, tiny house living. Couples are downsizing from a few thousand square foot homes to 200-300 square foot homes. They are amazing little structures that challenge you to be really creative with storage and keeping only what's most important. It also makes relocating easy because you can build the homes to move. I'm fascinated with it and would do it in a heartbeat but the hubby, not so much, lol! http://www.hgtv.com/shows/tiny-house-big-living/tiny-house-big-living-full-episodes-videos

I went into town the other day and while I was at the supermarket queuing up to pay, one of the other customers queuing up, collapsed. She hit her head on the floor / side board, and became unconsious. It was scary. I hope she made it . Wow, I hope she's okay! I've had that happen to me a few times, its scary. Today is my day off, I had to go to the university to try and correct my residency status. It seems that me changing campus (still with the same university) caused my admission to be red flagged as a non-resident student, i.e. out of state tuition. I'm NOT paying for out of state tuition when I've lived in THIS state for over 20 years. I tried to do it online but the system is just stupid, I had to go to the campus so that the folks working at the registrar's office could see what I was dealing with. I think we may have some kind of resolve. I then made a library run. I love my library but its been frustrating as they are doing major reno's on all 4 floors. The movies/audio has been locked up and will be moved but it will be a few weeks before we can check them out again or we have to place a hold online. The thing is, the best part about getting dvd's is walking along the aisles perusing the shelve. Oh well, it'll eventually work itself out and all will be as it should be. The heat is EVILLLLL. I can't be out and about longer than a couple of hours because it just drains me. So I"m in and out. Tomorrow I have to get out earlier than usual to go grocery shopping before work, then I should be pretty much stationary the rest of the week. Fall can't get here soon enough.

In the US we generally keep ours in the fridge. Mainly because of pasteurization. I was told that once the eggs are washed, they need to be kept cold.

Day 4 of Apple training. Pretty good but it does take some getting used to with sitting still all day. Normally, I can sit still with no problem but yesterday, after lunch and a storm, it was SO hard to not fall asleep! I think I actually lost consciousness for about 5-10 minutes, not sure, lol!! I think I'll power nap during lunch today. I took the dog for a walk, cleaned the kitchen did some light house work, moved my modem, showered and was asleep before 10. Got up, fixed hubby breakfast, walked the dog, had a quiet moment, showered and hit the computer. I think I might be alright with this new schedule.

I really enjoy Bill Bryson!

Its really nice this morning, mid 70's. I was able to sit outside and it was so nice! I wanted to take a nap, lol!

Yeah, I didn't mean to post it here but I couldn't delete it. I realized however, that the issue was with my Galaxy S6. Seems for the first time I couldn't respond to posts on the phone. Worked perfectly on my tablet. Got up early this am to go get the blood drawn. I was there by 0715 and was home by 0800, had some quiet time with tea and fiddled with my mac a bit. Now Its work time! I'm getting a tad bit more comfortable in this environment which is good because the work will only get more complicated. I now need to work on a daily schedule, I don't want to just roll out of bed walk to my office and then get off the computer and go to bed. So I'll make sure I sit on my patio in the morning, maybe take a little walk around my block during my lunch, a workout after I get off. I need to move!

For whatever reason I cannot get past page one. I've signed off, closed the page and I still can't go further than the bottom of the page. Ugh,

We had some idiot shooting at some kids sitting outside the front of his house (while in their car) because he was "fearful." Didn't ask any questions. Just started shooting. Thank God no one was struck.

I had two teeth removed earlier this year. It was the BEST feeling after having excruciating pain for almost a year. Our dental insurance wasn't picking up the cost like they were supposed to, but luckily we were able to finally get the needed care. Make sure you get plenty of rest.

I think you need to take a tea break! Spent yesterday evening after work doing more related work stuff. I ran out to get some carrots to nibble on, popcorn for my desk snacks and notebook/pens for note taking. I then spent another two hours on the phone with Apple tech to make sure I didn't experience the complete and utter cluster that I did yesterday. By the time I got done doing everything needed for a smooth start this morning, I had a relatively smooth login! I did get up early to go to do blood work before work started. I go on to a military hospital. Trying to get on base after 0800 is just crazy. Two gates and they were both clogged with traffic so I turned around and came home as I didn't want to be late for work. It was a good call on my part as I did need some addition help logging onto the Apple Blackboard. I feel SO much more relaxed today. Hope I'm not TOO relaxed!

Started working/training from home today. I started with a bang, lol!! I got my mac last Friday and set it up. Yesterday I called tech to find out how to maneuver around the computer and to get the password set up. I also needed assistance with my headset. Well, this morning I was ready and had logged on five minutes early, only to hit a brick wall. NOTHING wanted to work right! I was finally able to get with a tech who got me logged in, then I spent the first 1.5 hour getting on my trainers nerves (bless her heart, lol!) because I am an apple virgin. This screen will take a LOT of getting used to. Lunch has been had, coffee consumed and now I feel a bit more able to face the mac. If the coffee doesn't help, then there is no help to be had. House work has been done and its so cool to be able to roam around the house a little and see the hubby and the doggy when I step out of my office.

Starting to storm here BUT I don't have to leave home for work, cause I'm working FROM home!!

My Apple computer arrived and after a few minor adjustments (had to move my internet modem into my office) it's up and running. I still need to test the headsets though because the instructions are a little but confusing. Cable/internet companies no longer install telephone jacks. It's included in the modem. The phone box that I will use to receive inbound calls must be plugged into the jack. I almost freaked out because I thought I was going to have to have one installed. I'm sure glad I remembered about the modem! Just needed to change rooms. Guess I'll check out the bohemeth over the weekend to get used to the training board.

I installed the app, got my avatar the way I want then it froze and said my GPS was off. It's not.

I bought most of the series when I worked at a bookstore. I think I stopped at about 7 or 8. Haven't cracked them open yet. Right now I've got two books going. One is called A Place of Safety by Caroline Graham. I love all of her books and I've read this one before. I think I picked it up because its not a complicated read. My brain is all over the place so its hard to settle into one book. I also have An Undisturbed Peace by Mary Glickman. This is new to me. Its an epic American western involving Native Americans and African Americans. Even though I have these two books on my table, I still feel like there's a book that I really should be reading this summer. I don't know if its a new read or a "re-read." I hope I can get settled to it before the summer gets here.

Just finished an episode of Shetland.

Decided to revive this thread, hope others will participate! Last weekend I went into Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby is a crafting chainstore here in the States. http://www.hobbylobby.com/Home-Decor-Frames/c/3 I should NOT have found this store. Ugh! Everyday I get a 40% off coupon for one regularly priced item. That's not including the fantastic deals they have everyday. Anyway, I'd wanted to make something for my little grand daughters. I have three of them ages 3, 2 and 1. Two are in California and the youngest is in Texas. I wandered around the store and tried to come up with something easy that I could make for them. I'm not very talented but I plan to explore my creative side as I really want to leave legacies for my family. I purchased canvas bags (four in a pack) some fabric paint, felt, you get the picture. I also got three glittery crowns and beads. Last Saturday I decorated the bags with stencil and felt stickers. I also decorated the glittery crowns and made them those giant flower bow hair and. Everything is color coordinated, pink, purple and a pretty pastel green. Tomorrow I'm going to make them beaded necklaces and bracelets. My youngest grand will get a personalized baseball cap. I'm hoping to get all of their things completed and boxed by the end of the month. My next big project will be making the girls their mini afghans. They are so girly! I'm really enjoying coming up with ideas to make and send them now that they are living back with their parents. I can actually do "granny" things! I've also got a cool coloring project going on. I picked up this picture frame that came with three coloring pictures (owls and such). I can paint one and place it in the frame that it came in. While its being admired, I can work on the next picture and switch it out when I get bored. It's kind of like this but it has the pre-selected pictures for you to color. https://www.google.com/search?q=framed+coloring+pages&sa=X&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=667&tbm=isch&imgil=CqTvuKd3tbL22M%253A%253BNPrUjJkZO25DAM%253Bhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.pinterest.com%25252Fpin%25252F558868634986435837%25252F&source=iu&pf=m&fir=CqTvuKd3tbL22M%253A%252CNPrUjJkZO25DAM%252C_&usg=__lajITRWRjgk8A0TfMeny1pxHoFI%3D&ved=0ahUKEwi_-bjt6fPNAhXIFT4KHST9CkkQyjcIKw&ei=efqHV__YFcir-AGk-qvIBA#imgrc=CqTvuKd3tbL22M%3A What are you working on?

Sorry about the feet. I can definitely understand how limiting it can be! Way to go on the GP surgery! Guess now's the time to get everything lined up and squared away before the surgery. Are you still working from home? I spent the day doing something that I've been meaning to do for a few weeks. Actually, it should have been done a while ago. I "got my affairs in order." Not insurance or anything like that. See, here's the thing. In my home I handle all the bills and paperwork. If anything were to happen to me, my hubby would be totally lost. I've been gradually getting him used to using technology. He's 56 and a mechanic, I finally got him to use a smartphone a couple years ago. Anyway, I was on my way to Virginia to visit my mom when I thought, "if something happened to me on this road, hubby wouldn't know that the light bill is due and will be disconnected if not in by such and such!" Well, I decided then and there that as soon as I could, I'd commit all of our important stuff to paper. Today I went to Walmart and got some page protectors and a binder. I then spent the remaining morning writing down pin numbers, account numbers, bills (due dates, how they are paid) putting all of our insurance information in one place, etc. What a great relief to have everything done and in easy access for him or one of the kids. I also purchased one of those Happy Planners http://shop.meandmybigideas.com/collections/create-365 to further get my life organized. I love it so much that I'm ordering two more for our girls. Tomorrow my Mac computer comes in. I'll spend the weekend getting familiar with it. My training with Apple starts Tuesday. The home office is now a cozy home work environment. Its actually my office/girl cave!. I have a recliner, bookshelves, doggy bed, small telly, crafting table, blanket, heater...all the stuff I used to wish I could have in my own office when I worked outside of home. The ankle is painful. I just took the blasted brace off. I'll walk only if I have to til bedtime and when I do, I'm on my cane. Oh! Walmart has put out the school supplies so I managed to get lots of stuff for the grands. I'm working on a goody box to send them. Diva kits for the little princess and cool stuff for the boys. I'm including the crayons, glue and all the other stuff to help out with their schooling. Mommy and daddy homeschool and these things REALLY help out a lot. I'm also sending a kit to Texas for my other grands. Their parents are also homeschooling. Guess I've rambled on enough!

I'm giving it a shot. Wish me luck! Here in the States we have the wee "special" people, lmbo!! I'm posting a news link here because it's specific to this thread. OMG, some folks ought'nt to be allowed out without a handler! http://m.wistv.com/wistv/db_383122/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=1q7B38JS
