I'm not sure if there is a thread on this topic. I did the search in the upper right corner and didn't find one but if there is one, please direct me to it, lol! I was wondering who will be reading the Cursed Child by J. K. Rowling? Anyone pre-order the book yet?

Finishing Andrew Zimmern's Bizzare Food America. This episode, he's in Peru. Frog smoothie. Excuse me while I go gag. I recorded Luther and I'll watch that later today. Episode one, season 1. Idris Elba. Sigh....

Cute puppy, Gaia! We went home to celebrate my mother in law's birthday cookout. Had a great time. My brother and sister in law have designed their property to resemble an island resort (not commercialized but more like off the beaten path). They have hammocks, a dock, palm trees, fruit trees, bistro tables, etc. They love to entertain so they really do it up well. Hubby works nights and didn't get home til about 0500. He slept about 2 hours then we were up and preparing to drive 1.5 hours away. We decided to rent a hotel room and board the dog. It was her first time being boarded and she seems to have enjoyed herself although she almost peed herself when she saw me. This was our first overnight since before we had the grands with us so it was a special treat that we plan to repeat over and over and over again. We couldn't pick Kizzy up from boarding til 5pm so we got caught in a nasty storm heading home. Woke up to gray skies followed by more rain. We'll be recouping today. Nothing requires me leaving the house except to walk to the mailbox and get the mail. I'll putter around on the net, spending quality time really learning my laptop. Although I've had it for almost a year, I spent more time on my tablet and phone than on this piece of electronic device. I also plan to do some reading, until I fall asleep. Hubby has already dozed back off and Kizzy is snoring a blue streak.

He was THE greatest boxer ever. A true champion, activist and philanthropist. Arrogant, cocky and silver tongued he knew the power of words and he never backed down. "Its not bragging if you can back it up." R.I.P.

Southern Fried Homicide. Its true murders committed in the southern parts of the US. The network is dedicated to crimes and reenactments. Very addictive stuff!

Sorry to hear about the job situation Peacefield. Having been there and done that....well, I know what you're going through. I recently submitted my resume to Blue Cross Blue Shield. My neighbor has a sister in human resources. She got at least 6 family members hired there. Maybe she'll put in a word for me. I can actually see the BCBS compound from my neighborhood. It will only take me five minutes to work if I got it. Yesterday was payday so I did my shopping, took my dog, Kizzy to the vet for her Bordello shot as she'll be boarded over night Saturday when we go back home to my mother in law's birthday cookout. We wont feel like rushing back so she'll come hang out with her pals at the kennel. Anyway, I ran errands, went back home for a few hours, did my paperwork for school, checked on my son, then came back home. I was up and moving from 0600 to about 0100. I can now relax. I did go out to get some aspirin and made a quick stop at the thrift store. Now I'm in for the day. Maybe the next TWO days! My youngest son (almost 21) and I are reading LOTR Fellowship of the rings together. He's out of town and this is one of the things we do to stay connected. I also have a few other books on the tablet I am reading. Have a great day!

This was how my day started, All day long (up til 0900) I thought it was Friday. I was so convinced it was Friday and that my Google calendar was wrong, I uninstalled it and installed a new calendar. Its still not Friday.

Anna, we just finished season 5 of M A S H. I get them from the library. Love them! I also love Northern Exposure, lol! I was watching season 4 yesterday. Today we just started a new series. The Last Ship. Apocalyptic show about a virus that is killing off the world population and one ship is what stands between total annihilation and a remnant of surviving humans.

Got a gig writing articles on raising grandchildren, on a local magazine!!

Good luck with the part Kell! Peacefield, OMG, that sounds just wonderful! I hope to do a weekend getaway in Ashville in July. Anna, will this finish you off or is it just the semester? As I've been slowly resetting my head and reinventing myself, finding myself and searching for my purpose I have finally decided to knock out my last three classes for my degree. I'll be starting class in August. The financial aid work is completed so I just need to sit and wait it out. I'm really excited because this means I can graduate in December or next semester!!! Because of all the expense of having five grands we let our internet/cable go back in March. We've made do with frequent trips to the library for dvds. I also changed our cell phone data plan from 10GB to unlimited. Oh how I LOVE unlimited! I have been streaming Netflix and youtube like crazy. While doing my bi-monthly cell phone cleaning (getting rid of unused apps, etc) I remembered that I had a "hotspot" app. All I had to do was click, type in the provided password and BAM! I have internet on my tablet, my laptop AND my wireless printer!! The best part is that my cell phone is less expensive and my internet speed is the same as if I had "regular" internet, lol! We are getting our cable back next week but still, what a find! Today is gloomy and rainy so I plan to pretty much stay put. Having found my internet, this is actually doable. No packing up my laptop, tablet, headphones, et al for my daily library sojourn. I have already done most of my paperwork for school, tidied my home and given myself a facial mud pack. Now I plan to read and do some research for my book.

I purchased a new dell last August and made sure it was already pre-installed so I wouldn't have to do it myself. I always seem to have problems when I have to do the upgrades myself.

Hey y'all! Just a disclaimer, my wireless keyboard hates uppercase letters. You wont see them unless its the beginning of a new sentence. You've been warned, lol!! Anyho... how y'all doin?! Things are pretty quiet now that my home is devoid of little people. I've been spending the past month adjusting to the change, trying to find myself and getting to know my hubby all over again. Its been pretty interesting. I've been under so much stress for the past few years that anxiety seeped into my mind without my knowledge or permission. I do a lot of walking and my phone and gear2 watch has an app that checks my stress level and pulse rate. I wasn't aware just how much in the yellow/red zone i spend so much time in. Even when I think i'm relaxed, i'm not. I have to relearn how to relax and do nothing. I have no idea how to do that, lol! Today i'm hanging out at barnes and noble. I already made my library visit to pick up several dvds i had ordered. I'll head home, change and hang out on the recliner with my hubby and watch some movies. Later this evening we may go to a comedy show. Laughter is always good for the soul and relaxation!! My daughter and her family are settled in california and are doing great. This was the best move for them. The only problem is dealing with the school the boys go to. The oldest boys have asthma and they have all the necessary meds to get them through. The teacher, however, has a problem giving the meds to them. They would rather call dd to pick them up after a few coughs, then to just give the enhaler. She's been called to pick the oldest up so often that they are going to homeschool the children, much more is going on but since they have made their decision, no need to dwell on it. Anyway, i've just downed a triple chocolate brownie and need to get back to some researches. Have a great day/evening all!!

Prince died at his Paisley Estate today. He as 57. He was sick Monday and his plane made an emergency landing. He went to the hospital and was released the next day. Little Red Corvette Purple Rain Party Like Its 1999 When Doves Cry... My heart is broken.

Prince is dead. I can't believe it. The Purple One has died.

I've been MIA lately because of getting my grandchildren ready for their big move to California. Then I had to get my literal house back in order. Then I've spent the remaining week getting our financial house back in order. We've gone into all kinds of debt since our move and getting the kids. Now we are able to get things back in order. It feels really good! My mom called today and said she's having a birthday party next month. My husband and I are required to show up, lmbo!! Then I plan to go to Texas to visit our oldest dd and her family. Later this year I'll be going to California to visit youngest dd and her family and some friends. Looking forward to stretching my legs a bit! Oh, I've also lost 10lbs in the last two weeks. Life is looking good!!!

Hey y'all. Sitting here trying not to miss my grands. They left for California today. Gut wrenching.

muggle, lol! Looks like the entire country had been experiencing 12 months of April Fools Day! Sitting here at my favorite library with all five grandchildren. Interesting experience to say the least. So many little ones with multiple personalities. And parents. Today is the last day that I will be bringing my little ones to the library. Tomorrow will be the last time that we travel to visit great grandma and other family members. Sunday will be the last family meal we'll share together. Monday they will be gone. Packed up and headed to California. Yep. Mommy and Daddy got their respective acts together. SIL got a really good job teaching future employees how to set up solar wind thingys. Its a wonderful opportunity and new beginning for the entire family. He can now support them all, he's got family friendly hours and because the town they are moving to is like a small village, everything is within minutes walk and he's already set up a great support for DD to tend to her issues. I've spent the last two weeks with the kids, packing, weeding through their stuff and spring cleaning my home. Its been bittersweet and while I know in my mind they are moving my heart refuses to accept it as fact. I'm ecstatic for this new lease for them but I'm truly going to miss them! I plan to take a week or so to do some visiting, some yard work and then on to the job search in earnest. I have something I've not had in almost 8 years. Time for ME. I can find a job and not have to worry about giving it up because I've got to tend to the babies. Wish me luck! OAN! I've lost 11 pounds and have recently taken up running (when my ankle allows me)!

Hey y'all! Been a minute since I've been able to actually sit and type. The last few weeks have been spent in various forms of pain and discomfort. I've started running and working out but I also had two teeth removed. One had to be done surgically. Overall not a bad experience. Heck, I was so relieved to finally get the things out it was almost a pleasure. The dentist was very good and the experience was better than expected. Even the days following, while a little painful (she gave me prescription pills) and a little swelling it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Now that I'm feeling up to par, the pollen has started to attack so I'm dealing with that niggliing-just-wont-totally-go-away-headache. At least there's no sinus or itchy eyes as yet. I've done lots of spring cleaning and other than a bit of backyard work, its smooth sailing.

Pat Conroy was laid to rest yesterday. He died of pancreatic cancer. He was the consumate Southern author and just the nicest guy. I had the pleasure of meeting with him on several occasions when I set up his book signings at the bookstore I used to work at. https://www.google.com/search?q=pat+conroy+books&oq=pat+conroy&aqs=chrome.3.69i57j0l3.5811j0j4&client=tablet-android-samsung&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

Harper Lee, author of To Kill A Mockingbird, dies aged 89
Virginia replied to chesilbeach's topic in Book News
Her books had such an impact on American Southern literature. Its really spooky that I just started reading my digital library copy (Go Set A Watchman) last night. It JUST became available. -
Cold and sunny here. The days seem a bit longer. Just two weeks ago it would be dark as I took the boys to catch the school bus, now the sun is up. The sun doesn't set til after 5pm. As I was walking this morning I noticed some Crepe Myrtle trees starting to bloom. Not sure but I think this is too early, way too early.
