  1. Today I am wearing a retro dress reminiscent of the 70's. Its brown, white, gold and burgundy abstract flowers with a deep v-neck and bell sleeves that cut off just above the elbows. I love that its easy care and comfortable. Gaia, I totally understand! I'm no fashionista or clothes horse. I'm more partial to thrift store items because I'm most likely not to see it on someone else! I also just can't get with the trends. I often tell my hubby how blessed he is to have such a low maintenance spouse! Chrissy, EXACTLY!! I'm in the process of replacing several scarves that went missing. My only fear about them is that I can be a bit clumsy. I'd hate to choke on one of the blasted things. Imagine what the coroners report would say, lmbo!!
  2. Today I am wearing a clingy, just above the knee forest green and brown print sundress with deep a deep "v" front and back. The straps are about 2.5 inches wide. I'm also wearing a cream colored thin sweater because it has pockets. I need to have my phone on me and a place to store my reading glasses but I don't really own dresses like that so, summer sweater it is.
  3. Decided to watch Charmed, from the beginning.
  4. I wanted to do most of my shopping online but the stuff I REALLY want, its just too pricey. The stuff I can afford is, well....ugh. When I do come across an item I really like, its only in xs/s or XXL. Its frustrating because I've seen some of the most GORGEOUS autumn/winter rustic stuff. I'll continue to search. If I can just find 5 outfits that can be layered and mixed and matched, I'd be a happy girl.
  5. Forgot to mention that I made it all the way to work, was here at LEAST an hour before I realized that my shirt was inside out... I don't know what that says about me or my co-workers. None of them even noticed maybe I'm not as popular as I thought I was!!!
  6. The last time I was out it was overcast and a little breezy. I can't complain!
  7. I've actually got quite a bit of reading done in the last few weeks. by Jennifer Chiaverini The Master Quilter The Quilters Circle Currently reading ... The Quilters Legacy by Jan Karon Some Place Safe with Someone Good Currently reading...At Home in Holly Springs by Jane Kirkpatrick A Light In the Wilderness
  8. Love this topic! I'm wearing an ankle length "broom skirt" in tangerine, turquoises, red and some yellow, paired with a red t-shirt, turquoises Native American earrings, comfy flesh colored leather sandals and turquoises nail polish. My hair is in a curly up-do. Kind of bohemian is how I would describe it! Autumn/winter are my favorite clothes months also. Summer is spent trying to find clothes that don't cling with sweat or cause the thighs to melt (NOT a good feeling!). I'm into layering with rustic colors, boots, scarves, the whole nine yards.
  9. Another trip to the hospital. I wont complain. At least I'm 6 feet above and not six feet under.

Thanks for the good wishes y'all! I'm still breathing! Tomorrow is the stress test, yippy. Got checked for a blood clot (really fun!) I'm still 6 feet over instead of under so I'm a happy camper :-) and YES, no more trips to the hospital for me!

  10. Quiet and dreary day today. We've been beseeched with storms for the past couple of days. They come in quick and are vicious. Today doesn't look much better. If this the precursor to the weekend, I know exactly what I'll be doing. The boys were picked up by their parents last night. They'll spend a week in Georgia visiting and then will be back next Saturday or Sunday. They will do an orientation that following Monday and then start school on Tuesday. I plan to get their bedroom painted and their school clothes sorted. Then I'll sit back and read. I can't believe how many books I've read over the summer! As for today, its just busy enough to be interesting and slow enough to surf the net, hehehe! When I get home, I'll have a couple of hours with the hubby before he goes to work, then I'll probably sit up watching Midsomer Murders and Northern Exposure DVD's until I doze off.
  11. If you look to the left, at my avatar, you will see a picture of a kitty. That is the color of all outside.
  12. It rainz, it RAINZZZZZ's!!! Oh, yeah, there some strong thunder out there also.
  13. No more movie theaters for me and my family. People can't stop shooting the place up. We'll invest in a good home theater system, utilize Netflix more and streaming. Having said all that, not sure if there's anything I really NEED to see anything.
  14. Congrats to you muggle and June, great news all around! I'm trying out my new keyboard for my tablet. My laptop needs either to be fixed or buried and since I spend all my time on my tablet it makes more sense to get a wireless keyboard. Unfortunately i'm having problems finding it hard to get one that is compatible with my samsung galaxy tab pro. The darn shift key wont consistently give give me a capital letter when i need it, hence, the lower case "i." I plan to relax today as we did lots of home improvement stuff. The boys came home friday night so its been pretty busy. I missed these little guys! Been dealing with more chest pains today. Our son went to visit his grandmom friday night and had plans to stay til sometime today. My nephew decided to leave (he lives with their grand) with the key. Grandma went to florida on a mission of mercy so ds was locked out. He decided to leave and come home. 45 minutes from where he left and 1.5 hours from home, he blew a two tires, to include the "dummy" tire. So my mom and hubby got up and made the drive to pick him up and get the car towed. They didn't make it back in til almost 0800. Everytime i get a phone call or text after 11pm it sends my heart racing because it wakes me from my sleep. I am supposed to wear the monitor til tuesday i believe. The stress test is scheduled for 12 august. Well, i'm off to stalk the net and do some reading. Have a great day all!
  15. Nothing as yet but I did watch a BBC show in the wee hours. It was called "Vicious." Hilarious. Must see if its on Acorn tv. I feel a binge coming on!
  16. I am eating my innards. I haven't had a chance to eat a thing all day and now my tummy has decided to revolt and find food on its own...
  17. Bobbi Kristina, daughter of the late great Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, died today. She was 22.
  18. Its the weekend, baby!!! First weekend that hubby and I will enjoy together in months! What do we have planned? Nothing, we're broke and busted, lol! Maybe we'll get to that laundry room and shed. I've also got to clear out the dresser drawers for the boys clothes. I want to get them some bedding but I can't before next week. I anticipate being able to finally start painting this week, yay!

Joe Frazier was our third cousin. He was a gentle man. It was his upbringing. He never felt the need to be as cocky as Ali and that made Ali feel like he could talk to and about him the way he did. I think when athletes embark on a career in sports training should be devoted sportsmanship.
  20. Glad you had a fun time with your family Gaia! Anna, oh how I remember that feeling!! I couldn't wait for classes to be over, but by the beginning of August I was ready to load up my backpack and get back to class Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary! Today is the first day of our new family dynamic. Hubby went back to work today. Not out of town, but at the site he was originally hired to work at. We got up and went out together and I dropped him off, got on the highway and went to my job. It was great. I've either always been a homemaker or a student, I've never worked more than a part time job since I left the sheriff's department and even then, he was still stationed in California so we never actually had worked like this before. On payday I'm going to surprise him with a really nice lunchbox and thermos set. I might treat myself to one also! Yesterday was my first full day back to work and I was exhausted from it by the time I got back home. It started out with me needing to leave work to get the charger for my heart monitor. I forgot to charge it the night before. The plan was that I was to pick that up then go pick up some files from our storage company. Well I put the address in from my home into my GPS and darned if the thing didn't send me 25 miles out of the way. I knew something was off when I it said "your destination is on the right" and I looked into an open field. Yeah, so...that happened. Then I got a message from hubby who informs me that I had left the second part of the monitor at home. It had fallen off my belt So the part of the monitor that is attached to me kept beeping ALLLLL DAYYYYYY LONNNNNNGGGGGG! I spent the better part of the day not being monitored, ugh. Anyway, that's how my first full day back to work turned out, lmbo! I got home and hubby had made the most delicious salmon and tossed salad for dinner. I was so touched! I'm glad he did it because once I walked into the house, I felt like some one drained the blood from my body and filled my veins with sleeping medicine. I was absolutely exhausted! Today is much better. My brain is awake and I haven't broken anything (yet). Yup, its a much better day!
  21. Hey y'all! I went back to work today. I missed it. I also had my first appointment with a heart specialist. I'm walking around like Frankenstein's Bride as they have me wearing a heart monitor for two weeks. I then have to go back for a stress test. Such is life! At least my hubby is home!!!!
  22. I'm on an enforced vacation until Tuesday, so lots of doing nothing for me. I'll play with my quilt material, read, walk and nap. Picked up my medication first thing and renewed a few library items so I'm now homebound. Its nice enough outside to sit on the patio and soak up some sun, just what I need.
  23. Little House On The Prairie, Laura Ingalls Wilder. Its set in the US but they are definitely the sort that would appeal to you?
  24. Me too Echo! There are some butthurt people but its to be expected. The Klan and Black Panthers are holding a rally on Saturday at the State House. I plan to be far away. In other news an act of domestic terrorism occurred at two military installations in Chattanooga Tennessee. It left four Marines and one officer dead. I wish it would end.
  25. Sitting in three hospital with chest pains. No heart attack just pain.
