Kylie
I have been struggling with Reading Lolita in Tehran, and my other two books (The Noonday Demon and The Master and Margarita) have been languishing for weeks, so I have decided to abandon all three. Prior to this year I had never abandoned a book before, and now I've abandoned four. It's wreacking havoc with my reading lists and spreadsheets because there are gaps and odd colours all over the place. I hate leaving things incomplete in this way, but I know it's for the best. I intend to finish all four books eventually, but my reading mojo just isn't up to them right now. For a few days I've been craving a rollicking good adventure story, so I've gone with Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, and it's definitely hitting the spot so far. A real classic I finished The Hanging Shed. It was okay, a bit like a Scottish version of Jack Reacher, but I got fed up with things being described as 'wee' or characters saying "ah ken, ah ken" Now onto the second Dresden Files book, Fool Moon.
