Not an overly inspiring game today for Glendale but a cross over from Andy to the other Andy created the only goal of the away match and 3pts for Glendale today.

Now, wonder if the U'15's can salvage anything from their game tomorrow given the current non-form!

What's the name of the Under 15s league Inver and have they got a website?

We had a rest day yesterday after a comfortable 3-0 win over previously unbeaten Launceston. Fifth in the league and things are looking good!

The sun shone and we had an away game today....down 3-1 HT and came back to draw 4-4. Worthy first point gained. They played so much better today, more like last season. The intense training session Thursday must have paid off..lol.

Website.

They are Culter Colts U'15's (B league). http://www.clubwebsi...thfootballclub/ This is the club they are part of. They are the 1998 team (Colts).

http://www.clubwebsi...11/PhotoGallery team photo....Andy is Back row, far right, if you click on the photo it goes bigger.

Your lot are playing well Sedge....long may their run continue.

Glad they're improving Inver - the first result of the season tends to be unrepresentative of final league positions anyway. Over the last 4 seasons we rarely get off to a winning start and we seem to do OK, so I think your boys will be fine.

Good league win for Andy & Glendale yesterday....v Ellon the team who binned them 6-1 few weekends ago in a cup game. Down 2-0 at half time and came back to win 3-2.. Andy took a bit of a clatter near the end of the game, and hurt his hip....ok today though...phew.

U'15's unfortunately had another disastrous game....away defeat...7-1. Unfortunately too for them Callum went down after a tackle and landed badly. We had to take him off and he had to go to hospital...broken collar bone, which he has done before....ouchy. We had a sling in first aid bag fotunately....poor guy was in agony. Then further on into the second half Paul took a ball in the face and came off with a nose bleed.....so quite an eventful match really and use of our first aid bag.

Ouch - sounds like a brutal league Inver! I think they'll learn from this and can only improve - chin up!

Mixed results for us - a 4-0 defeat followed by a 1-0 win. It was still enough to keep us in the top 4 though!

Uppy...doony stuff for us both then at the moment...lol. U'15's have a Scottish Cup game on Sunday against Huntly away from home too...probably another binning Andy is expecting.

We scraped through in the FA Vase yesterday against a lower league side who had a man sent off after 10 minutes! We played some great passing football and had 80% of the possession but seemed to develop a fear of the goal area. Our only goal came in the 2nd minute of extra time. We desperately need a new striker! Still, we're in the next round and are £700 better off, so I can't complain too much.

You're in the money.....lol. A goal is a goal, well done. Andy and the 'Dale won 4-1 on Saturday! Apparently they are 2nd equal in the league at the moment :icon_eek:

In the U'15's game not such good news, but was expected. The Scottish Cup game..... :negative: binned 12-1, but Andy and his dad both said the score actually flattered Huntly as on a few occasions they scored from just punting and lobbing the ball and oor goalies was too wee in the goals to do anything. Ah well never mind.

Credit to your Under 15s just for turning up knowing that they could well be in for a pasting in each match. That kind of dedication shows the club is in good working order and can help them to turn the corner soon!

As I may have mentioned, our 1st Team were in a similar position 5 years ago and our subsequent success was built on the determination of that group of players.

When is their next game Inver? We'll send some good vibes their way!

Sunday against the dreaded (badies of last year, league winners) Kintore United. They are a few players short too as it is a mid term long weekend holiday this weekend, so a few players unavailable. Home game but who knows if it will make any difference.

Oh and by the way Andy had his assessment for a Community coach with Aberdeen FC last Friday afternoon. He had to prepare ~20 min session warm up/drill for 5-7 yr olds at their footie session. Had to do it at a leisure centre. Seemed to go OK, gave him a few pointers he could improve on probably. They have asked him to go along to Culter leisure centre to their weekly session for kids for the next 4wks for more experience and then seeing how it goes will hopefully see about getting him some paid sessions and then hopefully that will be him on the books! I think they do the holiday/summer camp type things too, so things are looking up :D

Sounds to me like Andy is almost home and dry - fingers crossed for him!

Due to a mixture of holidays and weddings, we're without any of our recognised strikers today. I'm not too concerned though as they haven't exactly been free-scoring this season. Our lofty league position is mostly down to our defence. Today is an excellent chance to mix things up a bit and try some established players in unfamiliar positions - exciting stuff!

We played in well-fought 0-0 draw yesterday. We have one of the best defences in the league, but still can't score!

Things were overshadowed yesterday though by an injury to a young lad in Falmouth Town's match. After a horrific clash of heads with the goalkeeper he was unconscious for about 20 minutes. The match had to be abandoned to allow the ambulance onto the field and he still wasn't fully conscious when they took him away. It sounds like a fractured skull. We're still waiting for more news, but it sounds horrible.

Posted

Yikes..sounds serious hope the guy is OK. So you picked up a point at least.

Yesterday's Glendale game looked like they were going to get a point at least 2-2, then they blew it and lost 4-2.

Not a good weekend for U'15's...lost again :negative: ...and totally binned 13-0 away from home. Kintore will be laughing at them. As per normal they let a goal be scored in the first seconds of the game! 5-0 at HT. Andy was writing down everything they weren't doing to tell them at HT, did it make a difference! No they let them score another 8 :negative: . Debriefing in changing room consisted of one of hte coaches saying he will be changing his prioritie to work first then footie. Andy said if they keep this up all season if will make next seasons decision easy for him about the team!

Posted

Good News - although the young lad with the fractured skull had to be kept in an induced coma for a few days, he underwent a successful operation and regained consciousness the next day. There's no sign of brain damage and the doctor says that he may even be back on the football field one day! There's been great relief all round.

As far as St Austell are concerned, we went down 3-1 at home to the league leaders yesterday. Four of our six defenders are off on holiday and we still don't have a proficient goalscorer. When will the holiday season end?! :o

Posted

Glad to hear the guy is OK...must have been a worry. A defeat for you that is a shame, but to league leaders..ah well.

Andy & the Dale had another cup game at home against a premier league team who finished 2nd last season, lost 3-1 but played well.

U'15's at home today to bottom of the leaguers, we hoped for 3pts today, scored first 1-0 HT, went up 2-0 after given a pen and then lost it with 20mins to go and drew 2-2. At least a point but they so needed it to be a win today. They also have 3 players injured at the moment too.

It eased the pain to know that we beat the same team 3-0 four weeks ago, so that's a 4-3 aggregate win.

Good result for your Under 15s. I know they were playing the basement club, but the point should still be a good psychological boost for them.

Posted

Mmmm....don't know that Andy would agree about that being a psycholigical boost...he was def wanting the win. Was concentrating on fitness last night at their training. Thinks that may be an issue.

On his more formal role, after his Culter monthly committee meeting and his role as one of the Football Development officers of the club, he has been in touch with 3 of the local primary schools in the catchment area to arrange a meeting about links with school/club. He has to go to one of them on Monday and have a wee meeting with the Depute head about it. Mostlly to encourage young kids to get active and try sport (and footie) as a way of keeping fit. Watch this space.

Ouch.....Glendale beat 6-2 and Culter Colts u'15's beat 4-1 in a cup game.

Sounds like a hard season for your boys Inver. Good luck to them from sunny St Austell!

We're having a bit of a rough ride at the moment - we don't seem able to field a full strength defence and with no real goalscoring prowess we're on a 3 match winless run. And tomorrow we're at home to Plymouth Parkway, one of the early title favourites. We haven't played anyone in the bottom half of the table yet!

Posted

Actually 'Dale aren't doing too bad in the actual league, but U'15's are second bottom :lurker: .

Sounds like we all need to find the net for those winning goals Sedge.

Posted

Our strikers can be forgiven for not finding the net tonight. I arrived 15 minutes before kick-off, just in time to see the game called off because of thick fog - I couldn't even see the pitch, let alone the goal area! This was a re-arranged match which was originally postponed on 7th September. The opposition weren't pleased after travelling all the way from Plymouth!

Never mind - maybe we'll be more refreshed for our FA Vase match on Saturday.

Posted

Good luck with that Vase...do you get the flowers to put in it too if you win it... :giggle2:

Shame about the fog. It is a bit much travelling all that way to have it called off due to the weather, but fog you can't play in...lol.

Posted (edited)

Andy's game already called of for tomorrow....tipping it down here most of the day, so he is away out with a mate to a pub to watch Wales v Scotland and have a few beers. Wouldn't normally do that if he is playin footie next day.

Hope your weather isn't as bad as ours Sedge.

And why did I watch the football...!

We've had similar weather over the last few days Inver, but today seems to have given us a break. The pitch can best be described as 'soft', but our game is on, fog permitting!

Sorry about last night's result, but I'm sure Scotland can rise to the challenge. As we haven't got our own international side, we have to root for our Celtic cousins, so I have mixed feelings about last night!
