ned Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I think Own Goal is in with a chance yeah, if United win the league Own Goal should at least get a winners medal Quote
Rawr Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I think OG should take over the manager's position, we should celebrate this talented player to the highest limits. Quote
ned Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 He'll be mentioned along with the greats, the likes of Pitch Bobble, Slippery Surface amd Beach Ball Quote
Rawr Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Oh yeah Beach Ball, can't forget that guy. A real Balloon D'or right there. Quote
Ophelia Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Wouldn't it be lovely for Carlos Tevez if he scored the winning goal today? Quote
ned Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Wouldn't it be lovely for Carlos Tevez if he scored the winning goal today? Not today Super, super Scholesy Quote
Johnny Carson Whit Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 A Swansea vs Cardiff play off final is edging ever closer and looking more of a possibility every day. Cardiff already confirmed in the playoffs and as long as Swansea dont up the next 2 games we will be there too. A South Wales Derby at Wembley would be insane The whole of the M4 corridor would be a war zone. Quote
Kimmy619 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 A good result for both our teams yesterday Johnny! It is werid how there may be two rivalries in the playoffs in the form of Leicester and Forest as well as Swansea and Cardiff. I went to see my first ever match in 3D yesterday - Man City vs Man UTD. I didn't think that it was that special, but maybe that was just because the match wasn't very good Quote

I didn't think that it was that special, but maybe that was just because the match wasn't very good I was unaware of the rivalry between Leicester and Forest, pure ignorance on my part. Having 2 local rivalries in the playoffs would be fantastic, as long as Swansea and Leicester dont slip up now we'll be ok, but Blackpool are there ready to pounce at any chance they can get. Not sure how they will cope if it ends up being a swansea vs cardiff final, it takes the police 2 hours to get swansea fans to cardiff on derby day and that includes a helicopter, countles bikes and police vans, its barely a 45 minute drive usually. It will be SWP's worst nightmare to have to ferry both sets of fans down the same route, it will literally be a very dangerous weekend if there are swansea, cardiff, milwall, westham fans all in the same city. There are many genuine swans fans and i'm sure Cardiff fans who wouldnt go even though it could be the biggest day in the clubs history (if it happened). I think the 3D thing is going to be like the HD thing, huge fuss made about it when it first comes out and when you actually get to see it for yourself you think....is that it?.... 3dtv will become the norm over the next 10 years though I think as HD is now and it will just be another one of those things. Kimmy619 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 There is quite a big rivalry between Leicester and Forest. The home matches are usually quite violent unfortunately, although I have never been caught in the middle of anything. I can just imagine how much trouble there is at the Swansea v Cardiff matches. I bet that the police have their work cut out for them. 3D tv was okay. It looked better from the corner angles etc as the normal play looked the same. I don't think that I would go out of my way to see it again. Quote
Inver Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 (edited) Sedge ~ how did the weekend footie go? Andy and the boys managed another win yesterday 2-1. My boy got the winning goal (penalty, well taken too ). That was after he got a yellow card but not sure exactly what for he was in for a tackle shielding the ball and the guy takes the feet from him, ref comes over has a word tells Andy to turn round, takes his number, yellow card other guy got a red (rightly so) and sent off. Andy asked the ref why he got a card to which his reply was 'getting involved'....WTF! Random or what, anyway sweet revenge when he got to take the pen, to which oppostioin goalie said before he took it 'you are gonna miss this'.... Oh no he didn't ! Dare I say too (well done Wigan today v Arsenal!) What a last 10 minutes! Edited April 19, 2010 by Inver Quote
Johnny Carson Whit Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Dare I say too (well done Wigan today v Arsenal!) What a last 10 minutes! I was disappointed Wigan won. Them staying in the premier league does mean that they owe my team 2 million, but I would have preferred Roberto Martinez having to come down here to sit in the away dugout, he would probably have needed a ring of police around him. I can just imagine that...it would have been quite funny to watch him squirm Newcastle only need one more point to be named Champions and I'm hoping that it happens at Plymouth tonight!!! The next home match, Ipswich, is completely sold out. Makes a difference from the wavering support at the beginning of the season. One of the main headlines on the North East news tonight was about poor NUFC players and fans having to travel the round trip to Plymouth by train instead of planes. Quote
Sedge Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Good result for Glendale Inver - well done Andy! We conceded a penalty on Saturday which the opposition scored. Fortunately the 5 goals we already had cushioned the impact! What was a 5-horse race for the title at the beginning of the day is now down to the top 2, with us at the top! Perranporth are 2 points behind with 2 games in hand, so they're still the favourites. The latest rumour is that their ground has failed the league's promotion inspection, so Premier Division football for us next season is edging ever nearer! Quote
Inver Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Wow Sedge premier league !...how exciting. Will that mean bigger crowds/more fans etc Quote

What about the premier league teams who are playing in europe this week? I heard on the radio Liverpool and Fulham are leaving today for games on Thursday, what a nightmare that would be! Newcastle are to good for the championship the sooner you sod off to the premier league the better, I hope you feel good about relegating poor Plymouth as well! Quote

I'm chuffed that Newcastle won (obviously) but its a shame that they had to knock Plymouth out (sorry Catwoman!!!! ). I think Newcastle are a good Championship team (well that could be argued considering they finished top ) but they're not a good Premiership team. I think next year depending on who stays and goes through the summer, as well as how much money is spent, Newcastle will be mid second half - 13th/14th/15th ish. It'll be good to get the Tyne/Wear derby back though. Quote
Kimmy619 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 That is kind of what I think about Leicester - would I rather watch them win most weeks in the Championship or see them no do very well in the Premiership?!! Quote
Stephanie2008 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I know. Thats what I said at the start...I would rather watch where they can actually win a few matches, than having to play the likes of Man U, Chelsea, Spurs etc and not stand a chance Quote
Kimmy619 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I think that Newcastle will do okay in the Prem Quote
Johnny Carson Whit Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Newcastle will do fine in the Premier League, it's where they belong. Just with the squad they have now they would finish mid table, a few additions which they can easily afford and they will be top half. I'd hate for my team to go up and get hammered every week, it would do morale no good whatsoever - see Derby County, the last time they were in the Premier League they didnt win a game all season now they are bottom half championship. The only good thing would be the money, but see Derby again as proof that that does you no good if you dont have morale and the fans behind you. I think if Swansea or Leicester went up through the playoffs this year they would both really struggle, it's Forest's year to go up I think. Quote
Kimmy619 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I agree Johnny. I don't want to see Forest go up though really....!! Quote
