  1. My mother bore me in the southern wild, And I am black, but O, my soul is white! White as an angel is the English child, But I am black, as if bereaved of light. My mother taught me underneath a tree, And, sitting down before the heat of day, She took me on her lap and kissed me, And, pointing to the East, began to say: 'Look at the rising sun: there God does live, And gives His light, and gives His heat away, And flowers and trees and beasts and men receive Comfort in morning, joy in the noonday. 'And we are put on earth a little space, That we may learn to bear the beams of love; And these black bodies and this sunburnt face Are but a cloud, and like a shady grove. 'For when our souls have learn'd the heat to bear, The cloud will vanish, we shall hear His voice, Saying, "Come out from the grove, my love and care, And round my golden tent like lambs rejoice."' Thus did my mother say, and kissed me, And thus I say to little English boy. When I from black and he from white cloud free, And round the tent of God like lambs we joy, I'll shade him from the heat till he can bear To lean in joy upon our Father's knee; And then I'll stand and stroke his silver hair, And be like him, and he will then love me. 2. The Omen never did anything for me, same with Silence of the Lambs.
  3. Twilight is a bizarre abomination, there's literally no point to it and it makes no sense, it's like kim kardashian. 'My Arizona clothes were too permeable' still makes me laugh. Meyer sure took a dump on the vampire genre, at least she got paid for it.
  4. Amityville Horror (original) always good for a laugh, such a cult classic and can generate an eerie atmosphere in the right mood.
  5. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE CHASE MISPRINTED LIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS <3
  6. Naturally The Dark Knight Rises. It's a colossal shame that Ledger bit the dust before he reached his potential (which is frightening in itself with respect to his Joker work) because I believe he could have cemented that characters legend, not in the same franchise way of a Jack Sparrow but perhaps another glimpse of the twisted nomad's intriguing and swinging psyche and glittering menace... a real villain for the frequently shallow Hollywood blockbusters. Bane seems like a bit of a stock choice, there were so many opportunities and rumours from Jim Carrey to Johnny Depp but we'll see, it's sure to be interesting if nothing else.

    Hello

    Welcome to the forum!
  8. Greetings I endure the coldness of ye olde england too.. it is not agreeable but a good book always brightens the mood
  9. Like I keep my mind, in a whirlpool of calamity...
  10. He certainly has a formula that is successful for what he does, I've read a couple but haven't been able to immerse in the worlds yet. I like his niche, it's interesting and fun but I feel I never get to know too much about the story. it's like looking through a window when it's fogged up, he's not one of my favourites to read but I'll look out for a book by him every now and then, in fact I can see 'Cold Fire' staring intently at me from a bookshelf so that one will be next.
  11. Order of the Phoenix since I've been doing a lot of thinking about how well the Potter series goes over in a visual sense, it's a very good narrative to be able to fiddle about with on the screen.
  12. Blasphemy! It's a fantastic movie, more of a harrowing, creeping documentary than a horror movie. The cheap scares are built up well and very few, I can only think of four such scares and they're by far not the most enjoyable parts of the movie, for the casual moviegoer they're what will be discussed and remembered but the whole direction of the film is masterful and characterization that is put across from the book is very well done with regard to the timescale. At The Mountains of Madness Ye olde classic Dracula still unbeaten too.
  13. The series is a wonderful journey, I quite enjoyed the last three books, I don't see why they can't be read and taken as they are, there's nothing lifeless or contrived about them, it makes a good wheel of a story with each spoke having their own impact and significance within. The Gunslinger is a bit dodgy but it finds its way and the next book packs a mean punch and you're off
  14. Oh yeah it's a massive change from Blood Mountain but you can see how they got there, they have a unique sound as it is but throwing something totally adventurous and epic like that along with the abrasive style of theirs and it's always a winner! It took me about a month to get into properly but then again it took me about three months to figure out what had just ran me over when I heard Leviathan
  15. Hey Karsa, what did you think of Mastodon's Crack The Skye?
  16. Ghost Reveries is freaking amazing, listen to Harlequin Forest alone that's like a whole album worth of ideas. I've been slowly getting into Watershed, my fave off that is definitely Hessian Peel that is a journey. After watching the sonisphere feed I've got new appreciation of Hex Omega as a closer, beautiful song. Acid Bubble - Alice in Chains
