Suburbanite Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I just read the Dark Knight has made it into the top ten best films of all time. I watched it the other night for the first time. It was good, but I'm not sure top ten status. Quote
Chrissy Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Off the top of my head..... Fifth Element Leon Serenity In Bruges BladeRunner The Colour Purple Alien That's all I can think of immediately! Quote
Tiger Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 After watching it in an English lesson, The Breakfast Club has to go on my list. Hilarious Quote
Jo-Bridge Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 After watching it in an English lesson, The Breakfast Club has to go on my list. Hilarious I wish we got to watch films like that when I was at school (how old do I sound)! The film I remember watching at school was The Neverending Story- they always seemed to put it on on rainy days and at the end of term! Quote
Suzanne123 Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Moulin Rouge! It blew me away the first time I saw it several years ago and it is still my favourite, despite the hundreds of films I have seen since Quote
Paige Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Braveheart Never Been Kissed Bonnie And Clyde Face/Off Bruce Almighty Quote
Suzanne123 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I watched Dead Poets Society yesterday evening and I thought that was a BRILLIANT film I'd love to start a 'Dead Poets Society' up! Quote
jewell Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I love films with an interesting angle and twist in the way the story is presented and in the story itself. I love my romantic comedys and i can rarely be bothered with a mushy plain romantic film, unless it's a old film. I was looking up some of the other entries and it brought back loads of memories of films i have seen like James Stewert movies. I love 'Little Shop Around The Corner' and 'Rear Window'. There's another film i like but i can never remember the name of it. The tittle had the words Cat, Tin and Roof in it. It's another oldie. If anyone could remember it i'd be gratefull. My favorite of all time is 'As Good As It Gets'. Other favorite are as follows: Signs Lady in The Water Unbreakable Next The Abyss Good will Hunting Anna and the King (based on a great book) War Of the Worlds Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy ......and loads more but i better stop! BookBee8 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I'm quite simple when it comes to films...I don't like it when they are too complex because I prefer to just laze around, watch with ease and not have to think too much, hehe. I like: Beaches. The Butterfly Effect. Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up and Superbad (Hilarious!) The Final Destination set (Even though they terrify me!) The Last Kiss. A Walk To Remember. The American Pie's! The list could go on but I won't bore you all Quote
jewell Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I've had The Butterfly Effect recommended to me because of the type of movies i like. Don't know what it's actually about but i've had a few theories. I will try it! Thanks for the reminder. Quote
BookBee8 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Butterfly Effect - It's been compared by a few people to Donnie Darko. Apparently it's a Donnie Darko for the more easily confused, simple minded people. I don't know if that's true? I'm not insulted by that...I am very simple with my films Quote
jewell Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 There are so many brilliant films that are so simple. Finding Nemo for example! (I love it) And you've reminded me ofone mushy film i really enjoyed and made me blubber my eyes out: A Walk To Remember. Quote
BookBee8 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Oh, I forgot to add all the Pixar films to my favourites list, you reminded me! Hehe, I love all the Pixar films, I really am a child Yeah, A Walk To Remember had me weeping a little bit too, have you read the book? Quote
jewell Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 No i haven't. What's the authors name? Quote
BookBee8 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Nicholas Sparks - One of my favourite authors. I actually prefer the film, which is very rare for me. If you read it, let me know what you think Quote
jewell Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Will do yeah! Thanks. Although if i end up with baggy eyes through crying (i'm a big cry baby), i'll blame you! He he. Quote
BookBee8 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Hehe . If it helps, I cried at the film but not the book, you may have the same reaction Merry Christmas! Quote
~Andrea~ Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 The tittle had the words Cat, Tin and Roof in it. It's another oldie. If anyone could remember it i'd be gratefull. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof? I don't know the film, just the title Quote
jewell Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Thanks Fishandchips. It will definitely be the film i was thinking of. I can't imagine there being two films with those words in. I may be able to find it on the net now. Quote
